A 77-year-old man suffered a fractured skull when a stranger stormed up and punched him in the face in a random unprovoked attack in Manhattan’s Flatiron District, officials said Tuesday. The victim was walking down Park Ave. South when the attacker ran up and slugged him in the face near E. 23rd St. about 11 a.m. Monday, cops said. The victim fell back from the punch, hitting his head on the concrete, officials said. First responders rushed him to Mount Sinai Morningside with serious injuries including a fractured skull. The assailant ran off and has not been caught. Cops were reviewing footage

Comments:

No description of the assailant or the victim, for reasons easily surmised. There's no recall effort to get Feckless De Blasio out of office, so Real New Yorkers must be OK with this state of affairs; story after story of insane people causing mayhem.

Guess we'll be taking NYC off the to-see list permanently. Last visited in 1999. Twenty-one years ago, NYC was clean, bustling, interesting, alive and did not seem overly dangerous. Now the Bolsheviks have taken over and as Bolsheviks always do, they've ruined something that was once great.

Real no reason for a police investigation. The suspect probably has 75 arrests already and they apparently don't have the will to deal with him. I never realized the last time I was in the city which wasn't long ago could have been my last.

Paunchy former New Jersey governor Chris Christie once threatened to sit on Mike Bloomberg—during a bizarre, jealous rant involving the Queen of England. The asinine threat is alleged in former governor David Paterson’s dishy new memoir, “Black, Blind & in Charge.” It was July 8, 2010. Paterson was leading New York and Christie was the Garden State’s top exec as they awaited the arrival of Queen Elizabeth at Ground Zero, where the royal was to lay a wreath. Then-New York City Mayor Bloomberg had yet to arrive, and Christie was seething about the city honcho, Paterson recounts.

B&G Foods said Thursday it would drop an image of a black chef from the packaging of its Cream of Wheat cereal mix, the latest company to make changes to branding widely considered as racially insensitive. Companies including Mars and PepsiCo are changing names and branding of some of their products that are rooted in racist imagery amid a wider national debate over racial inequality in the United States. “For years, the image of an African-American chef appeared on our Cream of Wheat packaging. While research indicates the image may be based upon an actual Chicago chef named Frank White, it reminds some consumers

California Governor Gavin Newsom announced Wednesday that the state will ban sales of gas-powered vehicles, effective in 2035. Newsom said that the “audacious” goal was necessary to achieve the state’s goal of 100% renewable energy by 2045. Newsom said that his new executive order would “eliminate” the sales of “internal combustion engines” and move to electric vehicles — a move that he said would create jobs and allow California to “dominate” the market, and address climate change. Those who currently own gas-powered vehicles would still be allowed to operate them and to sell them on the used market.
