As expected, congressional democrats are in full blown meltdown mode after Mitch McConnell and President Trump are united on moving forward with filling the vacancy in the Supreme Court after the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. During a scorching speech on Monday, McConnell set the record straight. "In 2016, Senate Republicans did not only maintain the historical norm, we also ran the Biden/Schumer playbook", said the Senate Majority Leader.Watch below: (Tweet/Video) He also torched the Democrats for attempting to ruin the life of Justice Brett Kavanaugh. "Two years ago, a radical movement tried to use unproven accusations to ruin a man's life... This time, the target will not be

I like Rush's comments. Skip the Judiciary Committee hearings, and bring it to the floor. I am not interested in the Democrat intimidation and lies. Republicans have the votes. Move on with it, and save the nation from the Democrats. How is Graham going to hold Supreme Court nominee hearings and question all those corrupt Obama officials before the election? The egg on Graham's face is getting thick.

What troubles me about that approach: wobbly Republican senators---think Squishin' Collins---who would approve her, absent a compelling reason against, could take cover under the flimsy 'I cannot in good conscience (LOL) approve a nominee who has not had a proper Senate hearing.'

It's about time the Republicans get some spine.

I have conflicted thoughts on this nomination. I'd like to see Amy Coney Barret nominated but my conflict comes in about how to proceed. If the republicans just put it to a floor vote it will deprive us from seeing how despicable the democrats are, think Kavanaugh Part 2, and how they will try to destroy her reputation just before the November election. Alternatively I don't want to see her put through that. In the end I think the republicans will allow hearings and the democrats, never knowing when to stop digging the hole, will give her the full Kavanaugh treatment further alienating voters on both sides of the aisle.

Coney Barrett was confirmed with 53 votes as recent as 2017 for the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. No need to rehash her qualifications. Just vote and be done with it.

If she was already vetted in earlier hearings for a 7th District spot, she doesn't need another vetting. Go straight to the vote and get 'er done!

Have just enough hearing to expose the Democrats' mendacity then go to the floor for a vote.

#6, I can understand the desire to want to allow the Democrats to embarrass themselves again, but they aren't embarrassed, and it's actually cruel to let someone be literally, and emotionally torn apart by the Democrats.
We know what they want to say, and they know who she is (whoever the nominee since Trump has provided a long list already). They've been working on finding "dirt" on all of them.
Thus, the process is no longer providing any insight, just mean-spirited attacks by the Democrats - name a Democrat nominee who's life was utterly destroyed in the same way Democrats have purposely destroyed Republican nominee's.

Each Senator gets three minutes of questions, just like the other hearings.

Senators get no time for showboating. 2017 confirmation is good enough. Let's Roll!

I wonder why the president already have a name teed up and submitted. The new Justice should be taking his/her seat on Saturday, not being announced and throw to the democrat/media wolves.
