Backlash against the French film “Cuties” continues to escalate, with objectors now demanding Netflix be canceled in response to the movie’s perceived sexualization of children. “Unbelievable that they released ‘Cuties’. So child porn is ok now Netflix? Raise your hand if you agree this is disgusting,” wrote one Twitter user, using the hashtag #CancelNetflix. The Twitter campaign against the streaming giant follows its release in August of a heavily criticized trailer and poster for the flick. The online outrage continues despite Netflix releasing a statement saying “we’re deeply sorry for the inappropriate artwork that we used” to promote the film. “Netflix is comfortable

In Debased America, only a narrow-minded bigot would oppose interracial sexual relationships between consenting children. After all, the movers and shakers have to normalize that before we as a society will accept children having sex with adults (which is what the + stands for in LGBTQ+.) Could be part of the Obama participation in the company, if not the Markles (Harry's uncle Andrew having a strong interest in sex with under-agers).

The New Yorker magazine fully endorses the film whose primary audience will be pedophiles, and mocks the cancel NETFLIX effort as a right wing hissy fit. I guess the New Yorker is fully on board with the sexualization of pre-adolescent children.

Where are the limits for society to finally say "that's it, stop this stuff already"! There are many subjects that don't need to be exploited just because we can.

I would recommend that open minded and less emotional viewers watch film as I did and come to their own conclusions rather than react to the hysteria surrounding this film. It is not child porn or any porn because ultimately it rings true to the experience of an eleven year old girl who is caught between the paternalistic rigidity of her African Muslim heritage and the hypersexual technological tsunami of contemporary pop culture in modern France. The films shows the pain and confusion of the girl as she sees her mother humiliated by her Muslim father who has the freedom and power to take a second wife. Her auntie also drills into her her obligations as a woman to fulfill her preordained role as a woman to be given to a man in marriage without her consent or approval. In contrast to this dark future she sees her other eleven year old friends naively exploring their own sexual power through their emulation of the hypersexual hip hop dance culture and she experiences power and self esteem that she has never known before. She also learns the dangers of misusing instant photo technology as a weapon and is punished by her family and own peers for her transgression each in their own culturally unique way. There is no actual sex involved only the goofy antics of little girls who really have no idea what the reality of adult sexuality and relationships will involve later in life. Anyone who has had daughters involved in dance classes from an early age will recognize this coming of age process and only be amused by its poignance. True pedophiles will find sources for their amusement almost anywhere and this film is too important and well made to be banned because perverts might also like it. The conclusion is especially touching as the young girl has an emotional epiphany that brings her back to understand her true self as she negotiates her disparate cultural environments. The performances by the young girl and her friends also ring true and the technical aspects of the film make it a real gem in my opinion.

I have never watched Netflix. True; never watched it or rented from it or had anything to do with it. Now that they are everpresent everywhere in media, I consider them just another cesspool contributor to moral demise. And with the advent of Barry, Mooch, and Z-listed Markle, I don't see how self-respecting people sink any of their hard-earned money into it when there are so many other alternatives. See ya in the rear-view mirror.
