Controversial Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, once considered a frontrunner to become Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s running mate, has authorized construction of a large fence around the governor’s mansion in Lansing as part of a $1.1 million security upgrade. The 8-foot-tall electrified fence is especially galling to Whitmer critics because she has routinely criticized President Donald Trump’s construction of a border wall along the U.S.-Mexico border as a way to help reduce illegal immigration and human trafficking. She has also questioned the effectiveness of security walls but is nevertheless billing taxpayers for the expensive upgrade that will include electrified fencing because, according to local media, Whitmer is fearful of threats.

Was it a fence or a Wall. If it's a wall then she's a racist.

Since The Wicked Witch of MI was just elected in 2018, I would think the Residents of that State would not want her in charge until 2022! If I were them, I would start working on a RECALL!

Faced with comparable circumstances, critics tend to make choices similar to choices they previously condemned their adversaries for making. I don't expect her to publicly acknowledge her error or apologize for the hypocrisy, though.

Michigan needs to fence her in. The voters voted for her, and now enjoy all the benefits of socialism.

What a hypocritical battle-axe she has turned out to be. Yes, battle-axe. As nasty and vile as Carrie Nation once was, carrying her hatchet with her.

I would guess that the petition to put a change to the emergency power act before the states legislature, that was to be circulated, only took one day to get the required 340,000+ signatures.

If you have to hide what you are doing behind electric fences,
you're not governing right, my peeps.

Is it truly an "electrified fence" that will deliver an electric current to trespassers? Or is it an "electronic sensored fence," like at the White House, which will detect and alarm for trespassers?
If this is truly an electrified fence, it would be the first surrounding any governor's mansion that I have heard of. Electrified fences are typically used only at high security areas and military installations.
The MI taxpayers are entitled to demand an explanation.

But walls and fences don't work, Madam Governor. Didn't you get that Democrat memo? Oh wait . . . they do work . . . if you're a Democrat who needs protection.
Really? Is she THAT tone deaf? Apparently so.

How would Whitmer escape should one of her constituents tosses a Molotov Cocktail at her home during a "peaceful protest".
