The markets are a sure sign for an incumbent politician in their chance to win re-election. Based on the markets today, President Trump has a very good chance of being re-elected.MSN Money reports: Major U.S. stock indexes closed higher Tuesday, ending near or above prior all-time records, as upbeat economic reports and dovish tones from the Fed helped feed the buying momentum on Wall Street. The ascent for stocks comes despite expectations for a seasonally challenging month for equities, following the best August returns in more than 30 years.

Holy Hurricane, Batman, I'm up over ten percent of my January IRA balance before the shutdown began, enough to buy a new boat. Nobody tell the wife. After November 3rd I might even be in the white-privileged bracket.

Brace yourself. The market is going to be attacked. These high values are the perfect fuel for a massive short attack by forces arrayed against Trump. I am liquidating soon. I think we have about 2 more weeks until it starts. I hope I'm wrong, but better safe than sorry.

Virginia has gone dark blue. For years, decades even, the commonwealth — “the Birthplace of Presidents,” as it is sometimes called — was a Republican stronghold (even former Sen. Bob Dole won the state as Bill Clinton won in a landslide in 1996).Until the past few elections, the last time a Democrat won the commonwealth was Lyndon Johnson in 1964. Even this century, Republicans controlled the state: George W. Bush thumped Al Gore there in 2000, then hammered Sen. John Kerry four years later.

A California district attorney is requiring her prosecutors to consider looters’ “needs” when weighing criminal charges against them. The new mandate, set forth by Contra Costa District Attorney Diane Becton, makes it tougher to prosecute looting cases in the county, which sits just outside San Francisco. Investigators must now consider “was this theft offense substantially motivated by the state of emergency, or simply a theft offense which occurred contemporaneously to the declared state of emergency?” according to the policy reported by local outlet East County Today. In making that determination, they must also consider five other factors, including “was the theft committed for financial gain or personal need?”
