Joe Biden is being accused of plagiarizing the words of a left-wing Canadian politician in his convention speech. In his highly anticipated convention speech on Thursday, the Democratic nominee said, “Love is more powerful than hate. Hope is more powerful than fear. And light is more powerful than dark.” Canadians were quick to point out that those words were extremely similar to the dying message of Jack Layton, the leader of Canada’s New Democratic Party, who in 2011 wrote, “My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair." CBC correspondent Alexander Panetta pointed out the similarities on Twitter.

If Quid Pro Joe said it you can bet someone else thought of it. I've found Homer Simpson more inspirational than Canuck lefties.

Joe did NOT plagiarize anything. C'mon, man - - do you think Joe is capable of writing even one complete sentence?
It was his corrupt hack speechwriters who did the plagiarizing. Joe just did his best imitation pf a sixth grader - - and rotely read the teleprompter.

When it comes to plagiarizing someone else’s work, it’s just Joe being Joe, that has been the liberal democrat BS excuse all along. You can’t teach an old dog new tricks!

He also plagiarized a lot of PDT’s policies and accomplishments. But the enemedia praised him to the heavens anyway. You’d think they would have hated those policies, but it’s just Trump that they hate.

Truth is, whenever democrats talk to the American people, they are either lying or they are plagiarizing. Everything out of their mouths is either one or the other. What they do is actually anti-christian and is humanistic. If you understand scripture and what God says about humans, you know that we were created in His image with a free will and because of that, we basically want to ignore God and act independent of God, which is sin. Not just ignore God but to ignore His values and the moral He wants us to live by (that make life easier for us). Democrat politicians, in the pursuit of votes, are telling the people, vote for me and 'you can do whatever you want' because we will let you. 'That there is no consequences for your actions, laws are flexible, right and wrong are not absolute, but relative.' Half of this nation is buying it, especially they young, but a nation can't survive long doing that, just read the history (in the Old Testament) of Israel and how, after a couple of generations, would turn from God to idols and to self. America must wake up or peril waits us.

You can't tell me Joe Biden wrote that. The low IQ idiot's brain is gone but a handler for Joe surely plagiarized it.

Highly anticipated? By whom, his Beagle?
Trump is better than Biden.
Pence is better than Harris.
Capitalism is better than communism.
Intelligence is better than stupidity.
See, anybody can play that game. Biden or his speechwriters are idiots, probably both.

This is not plagiarism. I spent my career analyzing and litigating plagiarism, and repeating a few lines of platitudes doesn't get you there. I hope Biden loses at historic levels, and there are many good reasons why he should, but he will win if this is the best argument we've got.

Except for the violence and assaults, that the democrats are condoning and enabling, the democrats are becoming more amusing to watch! Their lack of rationality and tone deafness is making them caricatures of something from a SNL skit!

#16, no one is looking to sue Biden. But it needs to be pointed out that once again he is stealing others’ words and ideas because he is bereft of his own and always has been. You know that if PDT had done this the enemedia would be screeching like banshees. It’s way past time that we fought fire with fire.

The cadence is the same but the words are enough different to not warrant a charge of plagiarism. This is small potatoes. With the millions of people in the world who speak English and over several hundred years, I can't help but think that someone has already said what I just said. That's not to say that his speech writers didn't see or hear the Canadian's speech and pattern after it.

A bit off subject but still Biden.
Biden and the dims constantly accuse DJT of wanting to be a dictator while DJT strictly obeys the 10th Amendment, Federalism. Meanwhile Biden openly declares he would rule dictatorially with a nation wide mask mandate. Just as Biden overtly committed a $billion quid pro in Ukraine then accused DJT of the same based on an innocuous phone call.
Of course the media has old Joe's backside covered. What they don't report is as important as what they do report. The media is a Dim PAC.

Oh, but he delivered the words with such feeling.
Right. The problem isn't the purloined words or phraseology (the Kinnock speech was lifted pretty much word for word), it's the fact that like most politicians, he is a figment of the Party. He'll say what he is told he needs to say in order to get the desired result. Remember when Harris was challenged about her attacks on Biden and she laughed into the cameras, leaned in to the cameras and laughed again, "It was a debate... a dah-bate! ...a dah-bate!"
President Trump irritates the punditry because he just will not play the game. This is not to say that he does not prepare, however, what he says is what he has been talking and thinking about for a long time and it arises out of his real life working experience of planning and building and above it all, or buttressing it all, is his love for America and for Americans. He is not embarrassed by that.
It's the Bidens and Clintons for example who put Americans in baskets and racial groups and dung heaps, not President Trump. So POTUS stands there! Take him without eloquence or glibness or intellectual gobbledygook.
So Biden must purloin and adapt and put on the required face to meet the faces he will meet, to dance with Harris, and fling the dying posy to the watching crowds, who wait for substance, getting only the old, rotting detritus.

#23 nails it. Never forget this speech was synthetic. Someone crafted a coherent biden with a lot of post production work using clips, layers and every deep fake tech they could buy. That's what the days and weeks of 'rehersal' were about, getting enough usable material to make this fool look 'energized.' A deep sigh of relief, was the best review the DNC could get from the media who knew if biden did his usual bizarre, spaced out performance the game would be over. He will NEVER debate live.
Meanwhile his speechwriters will have more problems like this. When you pile on the platitudes of course you are going to end up quoting other pandering politicians. That's all they do, talk. Effective actions for the citizens is something they are totally clueless about.

There is a New York Times article dated Sept 18, 1987 written by E.J. Dionne which outlined Biden's plagiarizing at Syracuse Law School back in 1965. Remember Biden was already a college graduate who by this time should have understood the rules about lifting entire quotes from published works without citation. He failed the course at the time but was permitted to take it again the following year and he passed at that time. Nevertheless Biden was no law school scholar graduating from Syracuse Law in 1968 with a class rank of 76 out of a class of 85. It seems there is no time limit on stupidity and arrogance and mediocre performance. And he wants to be POTUS? Give us a break!

Pfft. Ridiculous. The most insignificant, mindless phrase that anyone could come up with. Jack Layton ought to be ashamed to have such a lame dying message.
"Puppies are cute!"

I'm pretty sure Biden didn't write the speech, he just read it. But this goes to show that a plagiarist attracts plagiarists to work for him.
