Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, who for weeks had blamed President Trump for fueling riots in his Oregon city, on Thursday acknowledged that the violence has continued even after the federal presence was curtailed, and told peaceful protesters to stay home. Mr. Wheeler, who is also the city’s police commissioner, said he’s authorized officers to “do whatever is necessary” to gain control after another night of rioting against officers. And he used a base political appeal to try to get the riots to stop, saying they’re inadvertently helping Mr. Trump.(Snip) Police say a crowd barricaded and tried to set fire to a precinct with officers
Man oh man have we been educated about these radical left mayors and governors in America!
Such wrong-headed political bastids!
Bought and paid for by the likes of soros..

I'll quote Rush from today's show. Mayor Ted is doing this not because these are bad people breaking the law, but because it's helping Trump. Wheeler is a real bag of excrement.

And, Juan Williams thinks all of the violence only happened early-on. He doesn't seem to know that it's been on-going for 70 straight days.
Can you imagine the overtime the Portland taxpayers are going to have to pay?
But, who's funding the rioters? Is anyone looking at the roads, the parking lots, mass transit to see where they people are leaving the scene? Tracking the phone's being used to coordinate and alert people?

The mayor sounds like he is more upset about the prospect of these riots ensuring the reelection of Mr. Trump than he is about the crimes themselves as well as the implications they have for law-abiding, peaceful citizens. How utterly shameful!

The Democrats must have determined that the vast majority of voters do not approve of the rioters (peaceful protestors) injuring police officers, burning down buildings, and looting, who the Democrats have been covertly supporting in the inner cities. Now the Democrats will start changing their tune in an effort to fool those voters until after the election.

This is pathetic. This soy infused faux mayor is saying it is fine to break the law, riot, loot and destroy property, and hurt other people, as long as it is damaging the president. What a wretched disgrace the democrat party is.

This guy's an absolute idiot!
They don't care who wins the election. In some ways, Trump winning helps justify their actions. They are trying to OVERTHROW the American government, republicans AND democrats!
Then the idiot goes on to say the riots are taking away from the BLM message! Their message is MARXISM and OVERTHROWING the government! Where the hell has this guy been?

If he had any insight at all, he would have taken this stance 70 days ago and it would have been over with 70 days ago.

Except last night was as violent as any. Search for Andy Ngo on twitter to see the videos of each night and see the people quickly released without bail every night after committing multiple felonies.
Nothing has changed except maybe Wheeler decided it was too much even for Portland nor that these meth head terrorists have moved into residential neighborhoods the last two nights.

Per Wiki:
Of America's 25 largest cities, only 4 have Republican mayors.
Of America's 50 largest cities, only 13 have Republican mayors.
This data tells me that Antifa and BLM will be doing whatever the hell they
want to in much of the country for years to come.

I think Teddy-boy is 70 days to late. Just one nite of “peaceful” protesting by these rioters have changed the minds of many dem voters
How does rioting in a city almost a 1000 miles away justify anything that happened in Minneapolis? Oh and according to what I have read, St George did not die while on the ground. He was not murdered. Police body cames were released. Whole different story.
Think when this gets out there will be less dem voters this election.

Too late, pal. The WORLD has plainly seen the fool and insurrection-apologist that you are. America doesn't need "leaders" like you ... but you should try Cuba.

Funny, now it seems most of the rioters are white punks. And I mean silly punks when the mob is with them. They say they are going to bring the violence to fly-over country. It will be interesting to see what happens when the first .223 rounds hit the ringleaders.

Portland has proven itself to be the prime sh**hole city in America by it’s riots. What does that make the insurrectionists and the mayor?

"Mr. Wheeler, who is also the city’s police commissioner, said he’s authorized officers to “do whatever is necessary” to gain control." Yeah, but when the s*** hits the fan for doing so, it will be the lower ranking street cop that gets the shaft. Bet on it.

Peaceful protestors are making Angry Mayor Ted make more foolish than ever with their ever-escalating violence, which he previously attributed to the presence of federal guards in the city. Here, he argues that the peaceful rioting and arson (attempted murder of police officers, in this case) needs to stop because it might help the Bad Orange Man win in November.
