Upper West Side residents say three hotels that are housing hundreds of homeless men during the coronavirus pandemic have turned the area into a spectacle of public urination, catcalling and open drug use.
Among those staying at the luxury Belleclaire on Broadway and the Lucerne on West 79th Street, and the more down-market Belnord on West 87th Street, are people who are mentally ill, recovering from drug addictions, and registered sex offenders.(Snip) The board member, who asked to not be identified by name, said they were told the city was paying the hotels $175 a day per homeless person or “two guys

Sounds like you guys need to get torches, pitchforks and whatever other instruments of mayhem you can muster, storm the castle and oust your worthless mayor. This is all his fault and you can only blame yourselves if you let it continue because the city is your enemy at the moment.

“Face Palm”. Really? Homeless aren’t poor waifs, they are anti social drug users? Being liberal is hard!

Daily Mail as usual has better photos. The person posing as NYC's mayor in the past has been found to be housing such people at properties owned by friends and campaign contributors (mere coincidence). Imagine owning an empty hotel during the Chinavirus scare, versus a full one; a thorough cleaning if not an upgrade (new mattresses etc) probably goes to the owners for free when this is over, as a nice bonus.

Fact check for Lucianne readers: The Upper West Side is perhaps the most liberal-voting area in the United States. Uber-wealthy virtue signalers. Ye reap as ye sow. I have the same difficulty mustering sympathy for UWS'ers as I do for liberal Minneapolis residents currently perplexed over the criminal wave sweeping their streets.
They can do something about their problem in November. Here's betting they won't. Thus I don't want to hear about their problems. I have too many of my own

#1, rather than saddle the rural people with this problem, why not fence off part of say, Central Park, and keep them confined there? It isn't our problem to start with, and we don't want them. If the homeless choose to live in the city, that's where they belong.

Fairly certain Mrs. Fury and I stayed at the Belnord years ago. It was no Four Seasons but we found it very nice and acceptable for our trip. The whole area right there was safe and clean. Sorry to hear it's been turned over to the homeless, but let's see how the NIMBY libtards like it.

Why stop at hotels? All the ultra-rich progressives on the UWS have a few extra rooms, I'm sure. And, since they loudly proclaim "all immigrants are welcome" and "black lives matter" let them house a couple of drug addicts in their living rooms and two or three mental patients in their dining rooms.

The logical end result of years of failed leftist policies. Nyer's--you voted for it, you built it, you eat it! I have zero sympathy, lots of laughter.

The Upper West Side has voted 100% leftist for the past 90 years. And they will vote 100% leftist for the next 90 years. Nothing will ever cause them to change - - so - - -

They should not be called homeless.
They are squatters too doped up to get a job.

They're putting them up at the Mark Hopkins in San Francisco. A crack head was found dead in the hallway with the pipe still in his hand. BTW - The City of SF also provides "runners" to keep the bums in booze and drugs hoping they will stay inside. California dreamin'.

FEMA (ie, US taxpayers) is paying 75% of the cost to house homeless troublemakers in fancy hotels. Note that they remain aggressively antisocial even when provided a fancy home, proving once again that they belong in secure facilities in remote locations rather than used to enhance neighborhoods.
