'It's scary:' Violent, property

Seattle—A double shooting in Alki Beach early Sunday morning has people living there worried violent crime is getting worse around the popular beachfront. When sunlight turns to sunset on Alki Beach, that’s when neighbors say things start stirring up. “It’s scary, when the cops aren’t here and there’s shootings, people flying up and down the road just having no regard to anybody it seems like,” said Kevin who has lived in Alki Beach for a decade. This weekend, police said a drive-by shooting left two men hurt and a truck they were in hit with bullets. KOMO News did some digging

Comments:

They want the police defunded, yet crime spikes when no police are around. They don't want the police hassling anyone, yet they're mad that the police often drive by without "engaging with" mischief-makers. They complain about things caused by leftists, yet they keep putting increasingly radical leftists in power.

And the decline in property values in Seattle have started. No police equal no safety for residents = recipe for people fleeing town faster than a speeding Molotov cocktail at a mostly peaceful protest rally. Add that to a decline in tourism and boom, no tax revenue. The the government intellectuals will say we need to raise taxes and invent new ones because we are broke as a joke. Let's see how all this works out. Going to Costco for a big popcorn buy.

Haha No. 1 - we laugh about “call a social worker” in my family because my youngest son IS a social worker, and they call law enforcement if there is ever a chance of any violence! My son says social workers aren’t trained to handle these difficult domestic situations that police regularly manage. My son isn’t little - he’s 6’6”, 250 lbs - but he says he didn’t go into his line of work to be a cop.

While they were dispersing that crowd, they said shots were fired nearby in what appeared to be two separate exchanges.(Snip) Protesters are now using the same tactics on local police that they used against the feds. Nashville, TN—As the 24-hour-a-day protest at the state capitol approaches its 50th day, the cost to pay overtime and travel expenses for state troopers has ballooned to $878,626.15. The latest available figure is only for roughly half of the protest so far, between May 31 and June 30. According to a spokesman for TEMA, the cost cannot be reimbursed by federal dollars because of its type of emergency, therefore it will be paid out of the state’s reserve funds for emergencies. Activists like Justin Jones said the protestors shouldn’t be blamed for the costs. “That is the choice of the governor.
