Twitter informed me that my account was suspended for sharing content they disagree with, and while I suppose I should be flattered by joining such august company as Donald Trump Jr., this issue is bigger than me: it is a question of censorship.
The reason I was given by Twitter for why my account was suspended was because, according to them, I spread “false information” about COVID-19, or rather, information that goes against “accepted science.” Is it possible that the geniuses at Twitter are referencing the medical journal Lancet, which published a study claiming hydroxychloroquine was not effective in fighting the coronavirus

FTA: 'The truth is, once it was mentioned by President Trump as a promising option, the entire discussion became politicized by the media.' Hear lies the answer. Twitter, the media, democrats, Google, etc..none of them give a darn about 'truth'. To them, the truth is whatever they say it is, and anyone who dares to think for themselves are heretics. You could cite a hundred experts to support your position, but if it goes against their political orthodoxy, you'll get banned. Personally, I left Twitter 3 years ago and I don't miss it one iota.
The only reason these Big Techs and medias continue to harass us and flip the bird at free speech, is because we allow it. Everyone complains, but everyday they still log on and support their sponsors. Until that changes, Dorsey and his cabal will continue their reign of terror.

Putting this in perspective, suppose the phone company decided who could and could not call you based on who THEY approved of? While in the case of telemarketers this might be welcome, we would be appalled if they were to do this. Who are THEY to decide who we can talk to? WE might choose to block someone's number but the phone company should not initiate it.
Or local government decided that a dem group could get a permit to hold a rally but NOT a Republican group. It would raise fury. WE can choose which rally to attend, maybe both.
THAT is what twitter, Google, Facebook, and others are doing. They do it with mysterious "algorithms" that they claim are "unbiased"; just like the media is unbiased. This is garbage. These companies are staffed with Left Coast developers who know exactly the game they are playing when they write "algorithms" that are as Leftist as their creators. WE might choose to activate some levels of filtering but the company should not.
Consider how we might feel if a car company had a fault that occasionally inflicted damage to a person. Would we care if that damage was unintentional or just that there was damage? Further, we would demand a recall to fix that fault and there would be severe financial (and brand image) consequences if the problem was not addressed. The tech companies should be no different.
This will stop when the $$COST$$ of continuing to do it, through force of LAW, becomes so high that they are being crippled by it. If their algorithm blocks the wrong person they get a $10 million dollar fine whether it is deliberate or not. No "Oops" excuses. Possibly an exception for threatening or similar actions. Every time it happens the fine quadruples and remains at the new level until they have been incident free for three years. $10 million, $40 million, $160 million, $640 million, $2.56 BILLION ... . I will bet the programmers get a LOT more smart about creating proper algorithms VERY quickly or they get fired.
This should be done as soon as possible and a government monitoring capability put in place with support for it MANDATED by law, i.e. the companies MUST send a list of information censored by their "algorithms" to the government with some sort of explanation why it was done. The "why" doesn't really matter unless it is one of the qualified exceptions.

I remember the good old days when the left always hid behind the freedom of speech argument when they made outrageous statements. Now the lovingly censor opposing viewpoints.

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." Twitter Geeks are not qualified to make judgement on science or medicine. They should just stay in their basements, shut up and write code while sucking on their Twinkies. Their technical geeks should be called Twits.

Who gave people like Dorsey and other tech bigwigs the authority to censor the speech of American citizens? Show me the law and name it's congressional sponsors. It is high we to take back our rights which are being "alienated" by wealthy leftists.

Had a discussion the other day with a young Lib. She couldn't understand why I was so upset and hostile to Social Media. I tried to explain to her what my problems were, but it was like talking to a rock. She wasn't hostile, you understand. Never got upset or abusive. Just clueless. She could not even grasp what propaganda was or that propaganda is more than simply lying.
Propaganda is a lifestyle, where apparent common decency is mixed into misinformation and subtle hate to induce a mindset depriving your opponent as well as your supporters of their choices. My Dad dealt with Civilians in Germany following WWII. They could not comprehend or admit the horrors of the Holocaust. They would stare at him, sometimes mutter, asking themselves why anyone would be concerned about what happened to Jews, then change the subject. Some of these people had possessions stolen from Jews, and even housewares and and objects manufactured from dead Jews - Gold from teeth, skin for lampshades, bone handled cutlery, from human bones...
Most of these were confiscated and destroyed, to be buried as the human remains they were, though some made it to the black markets
These numbskulls don't understand they are sliding on the slippery slope. Hell's Mouth gapes wide.

We the people can only do so much about the rampant censorship on social media. But the Feds have plenty of options to deal with this if they thought it was in their interest to do so. It is not in their interest yet to do so. But boy will they jump into action fast when it is made clear to them that it would be in their interests to do their job.
