Twenty-two more people have been arrested and charged over their alleged roles in Portland protests, federal prosecutors announced Monday. The charges of criminal conduct were in connection to demonstrations outside the Mark O. Hatfield federal courthouse between July 23 and early on July 28, U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams said. The protests, which began after the May 25 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, “have been followed by nightly criminal activity including assaults on law enforcement officers, destruction of property, looting, arson and vandalism,” his statement read. Two of the protesters, a man and a woman in their 30s, are accused of assaulting federal officers
It’s a start. Keep up the great work!

With all of the video that is around now, they should be able to round up a lot of prosecutions. Just maybe these people might realize that they may be found and prosecuted and their fun might times not be worth it.

Don't expect your hard earned wokeness points to have any value in the slammer. You might want to start doing some stretching exercises to prepare.

Unless the Thugs they arrested were transported to a Federal prison, they are probably walking the streets today. We all know if they're in a Portland or Seattle jail, they will be released in a matter of hours. Sad but true!

I guess calling in an airstrike is out of the question? The sound of a couple of F-16s screaming overhead at about 200 feet above the deck would have them all scurrying back to their basements.

This is good, but falls way short of what is needed imo. The federal forces are being used to defend Federal Government assets alone. There is apparently NO attempt being made to stop the rioting and restore order. The feckless, delusional state and local "leaders" certainly are not, nor do they look like they ever will. So daily, and night after night for two months now, officers are sent out to simply be targets for the mob. Good grief, they've got to be getting exhausted.
We might be nearing the time (particularly in Portlandia) when the "thin blue line" disappears, and anarchy is completely unleashed. This is a massive display of stupidity and incompetence by elected officials, and the citizens who placed them in office.

They might find mommy won't be serving them their Hot Pockets with their Capri Sun fruit drink it's going to be prison food with a room mate named Big Bruno. Send them to GITMO for ten years each then release them in Cuba sorta like the boat people that came here when Castro released them from prison.

An airstrike? What a great idea.. how about a couple A-10's with those great, huge, 30mm gatling guns in the front...talk about making them dirty their pants...

It should be more like 2200 or 22,000. And they should all be in jail or prison. Same for Seattle, MSP etc and everywhere else in America.
Riot, murder, assault, destroy, vandalize,....go to jail.

Why aren't any charged with arson or assault with intent?

These thugs will learn some football terminology, as it relates to prison life, while locked up. They could go from being a ''tight end'' to a ''wide receiver.''
Of course, many of them have already made that switch voluntarily.

I absolutely love it that the media including almost every columnest I read insist on calling these people "protestors" when anybody with eyesight above the Mr Magoo level can see that they are thugs, looters, murderers, and arsonists. Come november there will be a massive protest against the protestors and hopefully a good many of them will be felons unable to vote.

I saw a FB post that claimed many, maybe most of them, are teachers of some kind. May not be true, but I'm sure the evening networks will investigate all of these people and let us know if any of them are brainwashing kids.
Let's be clear. A good teacher can change a life direction for a student in awesome ways. I've seen many examples where adults come back years later and thank a teacher for important guidance and support. Like police, a bad one can do a lot of damage and should be found and barred from the system. I'd say supporting or being in a riot qualifies for dismissal.

Hefty fines, please. They need to pay to rebuild what they've damaged or destroyed.
