One person was killed after shots were fired Saturday night at a Black Lives Matter protest in Austin, Texas, local police said. Dramatic footage uploaded to a Facebook Live feed showed the moment when shots split the night air in the Texas capital as some 100 protesters marched and chanted, “Fists up! Fight back!” (Video) Austin police confirmed on their Twitter feed reports of a shooting just after 10 p.m. in the area of Congress and 4th Street in downtown. Soon after they said they were starting homicide investigations.Police did not immediately link the shooting with the events in the live stream. (Tweets)

Walk down the middle of the street in a mob, stop traffic, start beating on cars, in Texas. Sounds like self defense. Why are homicide investigations starting? Is the Austin DA a Soros DA?

10pm in Texas is ‘night’. Carrying an AK at a protest, walking in the street, pounding on a car - aka as your ‘castle’ under Texas law, is a dangerous thing to do. Resulted here in a Darwin Award for this idiot - who was filmed earlier this day (on a Twitter clip at Gateway Pundit) saying he might shoot cops. Texas is not NYC or CA or MD or MA with laws that infringe on your 2A rights. Molon Labe.

Anyone driving a car down a street swerving to at least threaten to hit protesters, as may be the story here, is not entitled to any "self-defense" claim for shooting out his window at some guy pounding on his vehicle exterior any more than a robber shooting a store owner picking up a gun. Hardly hero material.

HIghways are not made for people, but for cars. Did this mob have a permit? I assume, if they did, the police would have the street blocked off except for local traffic.
If I was driving down a street, and unexpectedly came upon a demonstration, that started beating on my car - one that was threatening and visibly armed, especially with the violence exhibited by past demonstrations, I might shot as well. And if you're on a street that is one way, where the hell do you go if 'FORWARD' is blocked by people?
I don't know enough to be certain, but I'd want to know a lot more before condemning someone.
MDConservative? My brother IS a conservative living in Maryland, and I know that while he has views similar to mine, his worldview is influenced by his habitat. Texas is NOT Maryland. My Yankee Uncle moved to Texas and continued to drive as he did in the Tri-State area... till he tailgated a pickup for a few miles and the driver got out and gave him a polite talk. He explained that polite Texans (in the 1960's) gave each other more room, and that acting like that meant you wanted to start something. He tapped on the forty-five at his hip, tipped his hat and returned to his truck.
My uncle stopped tailgating.

Someone points a rifle at you, you're well within your rights to drop him.

Five shots fired by the Soy Boy with his AK is plenty enough reason to waste his useless behind. He went out sporting a weapon but a person with his own weapon fired back. Plastic trophy for stupidity for Soy Boy playing with a loaded gun.
I would like to know what the clown hit with that 7.62x39 because he must have posed too much in front of the mirror instead practicing at the rifle range. You win some you lose some this is a righteous killing in Texas.

It's my civic duty. I volunteer to be on the jury.

Thank you for your insight, #4. As I have noted elsewhere, I have lived in Texas previously and shifted my residence there in recent weeks. I applaud your brother as a true conservative in Maryland, and wish him well in a deteriorating environment.
Texas is not the Texas of the '60s. I now live in a county that once elected such icons as Tom DeLay and Ron Paul until a Democrat took the seat for a term. The county today is run by Democrats, who may well increase their local standing this election. Millions are being invested by Democrats to re-take that congressional seat from the Republicans after Pete Olson's retirement. The Republican Sheriff may win, but the race is likely to be very competitive.
Oh, yes, don't forget to drive friendly, and give oncoming traffic the ol' hidey.
