If only mobs were allowed to destroy federal property without consequence. Then, there wouldn’t have to be any dispute over federal agents defending a federal courthouse in Portland, Ore.; it could simply be over-run and burned to the ground with no unwelcome resistance from the government.
As it is, Portland’s mayor, Ted Wheeler, who presides over a city that has become a watchword over the years for left-wing thuggery unchecked by municipal authorities, has roused himself to a state of high dudgeon — over federal officers trying to counter ongoing assaults on a federal building.

Why aren't these anarchists at least being prosecuted for their destruction. Replacements cost money and they should be paying for it. At the very least, go after money pocket Soros. Make him pay. He's instigating it all.

The left thinks because their media did not report the riots they didn't happen.

Arson is a federal crime. So is destruction of federal property. Trump is well within his rights to send in federal law enforcement. The fact that the Dems can only complain - not sue - is proof enough of that.

The mafia was small change compared to the high rollers behind the chaos, mayhem and violence we are witnessing in this country today. We are much more sophisticated in tracking the source of financing of these people than we were when we went after the mafia. I would think that the DOJ and FBI could create a task force to pursue the prosecution of these criminals after more than three years of this madness. Yet, Barr seems unable to make an effort to dig into the financing that is clearly being done by people whose name we all know. Time after time we follow the money right back to Soros and his merry band of anti-American zealots. We are told that Barr and his crew are working diligently behind the scenes but I fear they are so far behind the scenes that they are lost trying to find their courage and determination. If Barr cannot see that time is of the essence or there will be no country to save, then he needs to go. We have beat around the bush for years and our country is in more peril because of it. Each day that ends with no resolution is another day closer to the destruction of the country. I am impatient. Who would not be sitting out here in flyover country watching the country go down the tubes because the wheels of justice are moving at a snail’s pace or may have stopped altogether. Whether it is just being thorough or just being slow, we do not have the luxury of slogging along trying to make the perfect case while the country burns. I realize it is a complicated mess but what good is justice if it comes too late, or God forbid, denied. Come on. This is urgent as it gets. Time is of the essence. Please don’t even allow me to consider that they could possibly just be running out the clock. God help us if that is the case.

In re #5's observations, AG Barr's slowness is highly concerning to me as well and the outcome will not be good for any of us unless Durham and he can giddy up asap. But, the dims have had no trouble investigating and indicting pubbies with lightening speed usually within days or weeks. I refer to the Mueller investigation and the dims impeachment circus.
As regards the violence and rioting in Portland, Ted Wheeler doesn't seem to get it that his form of governance is aiding and abetting antifa who has been designated as a terrorist group by the President. AG Barr, doesn't this seem rather odd in your mind?

I have had the same thoughts, #7, but it would only provide the police with somebody they are permitted to arrest. I think I'll save myself for November 4th. We will either need to march on Washington or go down to pop open the champagne.
I find it hard to believe that even the old burnout hippies who live in Portland welcome two months of rioting. This is the democrats' last stand as a party.

On Saturday to counter the defense of the federal building by the President the anarchist, property destroying arsonist brought in the 'shock troops', blitzkrieg style, heifer legged overweight helicopter Moms wearing bicycle helmets singing a Pink Floyd song. It's no longer about George Floyd it's about Pink Floyd. The moms brought lunches of Hot Pockets and Capri Sun drinks for the exhausted rioters to bolster the assault knowing this was a great photo op if any of the obese nanny's were injured by the evil agents of President Donald Trump. Party On Garth !

AG Bill Barr is somewhat hamstrung by the fact that most of his prosecutors, local in Portland and national in Washington, are pro-Hillary leftists. He can't trust them to do their job properly. That's why he went out of D.C. to appoint Durham to investigate and charge the "Russian collusion" sedition conspiracy.
To a somewhat lesser extent, the same is true of the FBI personnel. Obama and Holder "salted the ground" with leftist appointees to these federal positions. Absent obvious malfeasance, it's tough to fire these people, who technically are federal employees, not political appointees. They have stringent due process rights against the government, which must jump through many hoops and prove clear malfeasance before firing them. And in Washington, D.C., many of the judges who hear their cases are also leftists.

If the high end bureaucrats can't be gotten rid of why not warehouse them with full pay and benefits? Take their authority away. Make them come to work with nothing to do.

It's great to see the federal government take this reasonable and legal step. They should take all the protesters they round up and put them on a plane to Australia and drop them off in the outback with no ID and no money. Maybe they could make it back in time for November. Dems are furious because their narrative is falling apart. As usual, Leftist rioters accomplish nothing except to make a big, stinky mess. Even dogs know not to poop in their own kennel.
