Tuesday on CNN, anchor Jake Tapper called on Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) to apologize to the reporters he used in an allegedly edited video presented during the House Judiciary hearing with Attorney General Bill Barr.Tapper said, “At the beginning. Jim Jordan of Ohio played a video featuring many upsetting images of mayhem and violence from protests and riots across the country. And that was included along with a mash-up of members of the media and others using the term peaceful protests.”He continued, “The motive was clearly to show members of the media, including many of my CNN colleagues, calling violent protests peaceful.

He came, he saw, he ate their lunch. Bill Barr, denied a meal break, feasted instead on a gaggle of Democratic amateurs.
Another congressional hearing, another Dem disaster. They planned a public hanging of the attorney general and spent weeks constructing their scaffold. He is corrupt, a liar, a toady, they and their media handmaidens assured us, and the House Judiciary Committee will reveal all.
Two obstacles quickly became apparent. The first is that the Dems were led by Rep. Jerry Nadler, whose rabidness is exceeded only by his haplessness.

Joe Biden is leading in the polls by wide margins, but he's already making excuses should he lose to Donald Trump in November. Namely, he's saying the president is planning to somehow steal the election.
Back in June, Biden told "Daily Show" host Trevor Noah that "It's my greatest concern, my single greatest concern: This president is going to steal this election. This is a guy who said all mail-in ballots are fraudulent, direct voting by mail, while he sits behind a desk in the Oval Office and writes his mail-in ballot to vote in the primary."

Biotech giant Moderna launched the world’s largest coronavirus vaccine trial Monday, with roughly 30,000 volunteers, to test for effectiveness and safety.“We are pleased to have started the Phase 3 COVE study,” said Stephane Bancel, the company's CEO. “We look forward to this trial demonstrating the potential of our vaccine to prevent COVID-19, so that we can defeat this pandemic.”Moderna will enroll about 30,000 people across 89 sites to test shots developed in part by the National Institutes of Health. In the Phase 3 study, called the COVE, or Coronavirus Efficacy, half of all participants will receive two shots of the vaccine candidate 28 days apart, and the other half

A man who was spotted inciting violence during the George Floyd protests, known as "Umbrella Man" due to the umbrella he was carrying, is believed to be a member of the Hell's Angels and an associate of the Aryan Cowboys biker gang, according to an affidavit. (snip) It adds that authorities confirmed the man was also present during an incident on June 27 in Stillwater when a Muslim woman said she was racially harassed by a biker group wearing Aryan Cowboy vests, as he was pictured with the group.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s reputation for guiding the GOP once again as he tries to steer through the choppiest political waters of his long career and save the party’s slim majority in the upper chamber.
The Kentucky Republican is trying to overcome opposition — both from the left, which wants even more spending, and the right, which wants less spending — to grind out a new coronavirus stimulus package. It could help the GOP defend their control of the Senate, which has become a potential last stand for Republicans with President Trump’s reelection in doubt and hopes dashed for flipping the House.

George Floyd lives on in light. A hologram effigy of the 46-year-old Black man killed by a since-fired Minneapolis police officer in May will tour the U.S., traveling roughly along the route of the 1961 Freedom Rides. A collaboration between the George Floyd Foundation and Change.org, it will stop at five sites in North Carolina, Georgia and other Southern states. Tuesday night, Floyd’s family will launch the week-long project in Richmond, Va., where the hologram will replace the statue of Robert E. Lee.(Snip) On Monday his family held a preview of the installation at the Jefferson Davis memorial

Attorney General William Barr's testimony in front of the House Judiciary Committee has been delayed after Chairman Jerry Nadler was in a car accident on his way to Capitol Hill. Nadler, a New York Democrat, was not injured, a spokesman for the congressman told CNN. Nadler was not driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. The oversight hearing with Barr, originally set for 10 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, is now expected to start 45 minutes behind schedule.

If you’re a politician who’s trying to appeal to the left, you must always remember that they think of themselves first and foremost as victims. Victims of society, victims of male privilege, victims of whiteness, whatever the case may be. All the problems in the world are the direct result of oppression by The Other. Lefties are helpless targets, nobody in the world has ever suffered the way they have, and they must be rescued by… well, by whoever wants power over them.
So if you want perpetual victims to vote for you, then you need to speak their language.

Can Joe Biden keep it together? So far, he’s holding his own.
It helps that President Donald J. Trump has embarked on a one-man crusade to destroy his own reelection prospects.
Trump’s treasured and bountiful economy has been buried by the deadly virus raging across the nation. His xenophobic, racist ways and cavalier attitude toward the COVID-19 pandemic are turning off voters in droves.(Snip)Yet there is a dreadful possibility, a whispered doubt that lurks at every Biden appearance. It is forming shadows across some worried brows — mine for sure.

Abuse, trauma and violence have marked the adult life of the 22-year-old Milwaukee woman charged this weekend in her toddler daughter’s shooting death.
Prosecutors say Jasmine C. Daniels was “playing around” with her gun last Tuesday when it went off, killing her 2-year-old daughter, Zymeiia Stevens. Seven months prior, according to authorities, she discovered her infant son dead after napping with him on her bed.

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on Tuesday called for the arrest of violent protesters while taking questions for the first time in 28 days. The former vice president struck a discordant tone with fellow liberals who insist protests against the May killing of George Floyd by Minnesota police are peaceful, and that authorities are to blame for any violence in Portland and other cities. “I think we do need to hold those who violate the law accountable,” Biden said. “We should never let what’s done in a march for equal rights overcome what the reason for the march is. And that’s what these folks are doing.
