Amazon says it will drop Washington
NFL team’s merchandise

The perennially losing NFL team that uses a slur as its nickname will have its merchandise scrubbed from Amazon’s website, the online shopping giant said Wednesday. Amazon joins other retailers including Walmart and Target that have moved to drop products bearing the Washington franchise’s mascot. The team said last week it would review its long-controversial moniker, an offensive term for Native Americans, after it came under fresh fire amid nationwide protests against racism. “With the announcement from the Washington team and the NFL, we are removing products with the team’s name and logo from our stores,” Amazon emailed sellers.

Marxists adore enormously powerful corporations because when brought to heel, they perform as a very effective cudgel to force the Change they so desire. We embrace mass surveillance, extreme political correctness, costly health insurance, "smart" utility meters, ethanol and other alternative energies, and countless other things because all alternatives are pulled from the shelves or made prohibitively expensive in the so-called Free Market.

The NFL shares all merchandise revenue, so it's not going to crush the REDSKINS by stopping the selling of their stuff.

As a 50+ year Cowboys fan, I loved nothing more than hating the dreaded Redskins!!! That was a fun rivalry. But then the entire Cowboys team kneeled on the 50 yard line in "solidarity" with the American hating racist thugs, and I turned off the TV and haven't watched a down of the NFL since then!!! And I never will again!!! I never boycott anything. A boycott is a temporary stoppage of something. Once you lose me, I am gone for life. And I haven't missed the NFL for a second that whole time!!! So I really could care less what the spineless losers at Amazon sell or don't.

How can it be a "slur" if it was a term coined by native Americans to describe themselves? Hey, I think it's time for the team to change it, just because it's not what anyone would name a team if they were naming it today, but to do it now would make them look like they're caving. Maybe choose a new name that strikes fear into people, like the "Washington Cancelers" or the "Washington Bureaucrats".

A federal judge on Friday ordered the government to revive the DACA program as it existed before President Trump tried to phase it out in 2017, which means opening it up to brand new applications. That’s a key issue that had remained in limbo after last month’s Supreme Court ruling, which found the Trump phaseout cut too many corners. U.S. District Judge Paul W. Grimm, sitting in Maryland, issued an order restoring all parts of the program back to where they were, which means not only protecting current recipients but also approving new ones. It also renews an indirect pathway to citizenship,

But apparently, someone in the US Army’s Equity and Inclusion Agency has forgotten the rules. The National Football League celebrated its 100th anniversary last year. This should be a time of self-congratulation for the brutal sport, which has no similar counterpart outside the United States. The NFL's megaprofits dwarf those of other professional sports in the U.S. The Super Bowl, not the World Series, is America's national sports event. The league has survived all sorts of crises in the past. It was one of the first professional sports to integrate its teams, doing so in the 1920s. But the integration unfortunately ceased, and the NFL didn't reintegrate until the mid-'40s, becoming one of the last sports leagues to embrace fully a racially-blind meritocracy.
