As a young journalist starting out many years ago, I was proud to join a profession where so many men and women had distinguished themselves through honest, thorough investigations, entertaining features, and excellence in writing. But for a long while, I’ve been depressed to see much of the press openly working as political operatives. Objectivity in reporting was always impossible, but at least it used to be discussed as a goal. Now journalists boast of their advocacy journalism for an increasingly leftist agenda. Former CBS reporter Bernard Goldberg chronicled the media’s slanting of the news in the first of his bestselling books, Bias.

Judy, your problem was you went in drinking the Koolaid, and believing the propaganda.
Media has been like this as long as I can remember. My nearly 60 years of being media-aware has noticed laziness, sloppy work, lies, intimidation, demands for bribes, bribes, slander, lies by omission, fraud, and always a slavish tradition of protecting Democrats and communists.
When I read back through history, I was shocked, for example, how alike the news coverage on Lincoln in the midst of the Civil War was, compared to Trump, today. Maybe none of the libraries ever thought to save the stories favoring the first Republican President, but the outright slander and viciousness was mindblowing.
Except for small town papers, struggling on the brink of extinction, the media has always been the propaganda arm of the elites.

FTA: "Objectivity in reporting was always impossible..."
Wrong. Not if you are a disciplined journalist who sticks with reporting the 5 W's: The who, what, where, when, and why of a story. Answering those fundamental questions is a traditional journalistic practice and has always been a requirement for publication, unless it's an opinion piece.
What's happened is that nowadays journalists have decided it's NOT their job to answer the 5 W's, but rather to be the voice of the people who have no voice. That's fine, but that's not journalism! So what the public is receiving as "news" is simply regurgitation of minority opinion. And when it's done 24/7, the constantly repeated minority view becomes distorted and seems like it must be the majority view.
The MSM talks transparency but walks behind a curtain of political advocacy disguised as news.

Just like all the other words and terms corrupted by the left, ''journalist'' is now a dirty word. People attaching that label to themselves are not practicing the profession that the term used to mean. They have demeaned and denigrated the profession, and deserve to be called propagandists, narrative mongers, or other more accurate names..
Even the term ''yellow journalism'' describes a much more honorable line of work!

I wish there was a way to make the whole lot of them disappear and we could start over. Maybe save 10 or so, if even that many. It is so obvious what they are and what their goals are. And it's not good for the country.

You have to go to the internet, to various sites, to find out the truth. Avoid the left media for news, except for entertainment.
