In terms of free speech and the defense thereof, this month has been one of the worst in our nation's history. Those who don't kowtow to either the street mob or the Twitterati regarding the George Floyd controversy are finding themselves canceled, fired, and socially exiled for life. Opinion editor James Bennet of the New York Times was forced to resign after printing an article by Senator Tom Cotton that fellow staffers claimed put them "in danger."Bennet is not alone. Magazine editors, TV stars, sports announcers, university professors, radio hosts, and newspaper reporters donned their scarlet letters and took the walk of shame after uttering their

And this will not stop because the revolutionaries tire. They have an end-game and we on this forum are not in it. We can slink back in out TV caves watching Friends reruns or stand up and loudly shout 'NO!'. Should we take a public stand we'd better have ammo and extra full magazines to protect ourselves, our property, and those we love. Because meeting force with overwhelming force will be the only language they'll know or quickly learn. The police - God help them now - will not be able to help us.

I wonder if there is a library or a news stand inside the nation of Chaz? They will need to control the information that their citizens will have access to.

Just because the founders didn't foresee Al Gore inventing the internet digital speech is not exempt from first amendment protections.
Just because the founders didn't foresee AR 15's (Actually there's a good chance they were aware of that technology emerging) doesn't mean our right to bear them is not protected by the 2nd amendment.
And just because no paper nor binding is involved in digital information, the destruction is no less the exact same thing as book burning.
You have all of the evil of burning books without the campfire fun and warmth aspects.

I work in a library that has lots of children's books. Woke doesn't go far enough. One of the top contenders for the Newbery Award is Prairie Lotus by Linda Sue Park that is set in 1880 in the midwest. Our heroine is the daughter of a white father and a Chinese mother who was killed in a riot in California. Of course the townspeople are prejudiced and of course the Indians are saintly. It's being hailed as a new Little House on the Prairie, but better because multicultural.

They can burn books, but they won't get them all. You can't burn ideas or truth.

Keep your books especially history books, including the Bible. Anything online can be altered or completely erased.
I used to think that the American Left is basically garden variety, but i think rather that it is Maoist, very radical, in that the movement really does intend to erase the past and then rewrite it according to its liking for propaganda and control purposes. This requires the destruction of the material culture, including statues and monuments.
I was wondering where Anita Dunn is. She was in Obama's government, until people found out what an ardent Maoist she is. I read one article from January 10, 2010, by Kelly O'Connell, at CanadaFreePres.com.
Check this paragraph:
"Launched in 1965 ... the Cultural Revolution pitted youth against the establishment, achieving one of histories worst political purges. ...Mao wished to overturn conservative bourgeoisie culture.
Universities closed from 1966-1969 so students could better rampage. The young were encouraged to desecrate and destroy everything holy to Chinese society, including the school system, religion, the family, universities, and even museums. ... Student gangs, including females, rampaged across China in murderous pods. ...Mao did not believe in innate human worth."
Like other totalitarian cults, Mao's also burned books and manuscripts and furnishings, artwork, everything, including statues. Some people buried artifacts in order to save them. Many of those people were swept away in the purges.
If people used to think that something like this can't happen here, i hope they are waking up fast. Rule by the mob is a life of terror. The mob takes on a life of its own, until a greater force stops it or it peters out because it has run out of fuel (books to burn, objects and monuments to destroy, people to kill).
As Diogenes said, "The mob is the mother of tyrants."
So i went back to search for Dunn's whereabouts. Yikes. In February Biden hired Anita Dunn as a campaign adviser. Biden has a Maoist for campaign adviser. I wonder how far along Joe's brainwashing has progressed? Is he getting ready to emerge from his basement yet?
