The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear the administration’s challenge to California’s main sanctuary city law protecting illegal immigrants, dealing a significant blow to President Trump’s hopes of forcing jurisdictions to cooperate with ICE. The justices did not offer comment on their decision, though two—Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel A. Alito Jr.—said they wanted to hear the case. It takes four justices to put a case on the court’s calendar. By declining to hear the case the court left in place a ruling by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that upheld California’s SB54, a law enacted

So, cut funding to the California sanctuary cities or the whole sanctuary state, like 0bama did NC, and let the state take the case to the supremes. See if they'll hear the case then.

The Governor and State Legislature in my state should pass a law making Louisiana a 'Federal Taxation Sanctuary State' and not allow the Fed Govt to collect federal taxes on our citizens. Let's see if the Supremes hear that case. If a state does not have to submit to some Federal Laws, they have to submit to no Federal Law. Leftists seem to always get to have their cake and eat it too, and they never make the cake or pay for the cake.

Another branch of government that is no longer be depended on to protect our Country and our God Given Constitutional Rights. Even with Trump's pick the Court is leaning Marxist.
Where do we Patriots turn to in order to preserve Truth, Justice, and the American Way?

This makes no sense. If the State government can 'choose' to ignore a Federal law then that leaves a State able to ignore the Federal law on integration/segregation.
What happened to Gorsuch and Kavanaugh? They should have at least voted to hear the arguments.

So states are now free to ignore any federal law it doesn't like? Great, maybe my state can become a 2nd amendment sanctuary state. Or an affirmative action sanctuary state.
Think that would be accepted by the deep state?

My question: How does the SCOTUS make such a decision?
Answer: Why right along party lines, of course.

Are the Roberts' Supremes shaping up to be a clique of lawless socialist/dem activists? They seem to be ignoring their oaths and avoiding their responsibilities.

I simply can't fathom how the Supreme Court could possibly NOT hearthis case. In my opinion it's the single most important issue facing this country. How can any country even exist if it can't control its borders, or if its states can simply choose to ignore the rightful role of the federal government in controlling those borders? Complete insanity.
The Supreme Court has become hopelessly political. And in doing so it is worse than useless, actively undermining the very constitution its justices have sworn to uphold. Now it is nothing more than a super-committee of the legislative branch.

#2/3, that means a red state can declare all the unconstitutional 'laws' in the NFA1934, GCA1968 and 1986, etc. null and void. I'll order a Thompson through the mail the next day when that happens, just like you could do in the 1920s and 30s before the commies got embedded so far into government. And Howitzers/mortars/everything that citizens should own without infringement. I even wouldn't mind an F-22 or 35 if I could afford them, which I can't. Have to go in on a group buy for those, I guess.
They really are bozos driven by politics at the upper levels of government, aren't they? And dumb bozos at that. They claim to be the best and brightest, which I suspect is just their over-blown self-esteem talking.

If the State of California can pick and choose which federal laws to enforce, then as a citizen of said "state" I declare our homestead a Sanctuary from state and county laws, edicts and orders. Bite me!

A lot more illegal aliens will now pour into California and the taxpayers there will have to pay for all the California benefits that the leftist and liberal Democrat politicians will hand out to that increasing foreign population. Anyone who does not like that situation has two choices, either vote out the leftist and liberal Democrat politicians who caused that situation, or simply up and move out of that state.
