The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear the administration’s challenge to California’s main sanctuary city law protecting illegal immigrants, dealing a significant blow to President Trump’s hopes of forcing jurisdictions to cooperate with ICE. The justices did not offer comment on their decision, though two—Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel A. Alito Jr.—said they wanted to hear the case. It takes four justices to put a case on the court’s calendar. By declining to hear the case the court left in place a ruling by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that upheld California’s SB54, a law enacted

So, cut funding to the California sanctuary cities or the whole sanctuary state, like 0bama did NC, and let the state take the case to the supremes. See if they'll hear the case then.

The Governor and State Legislature in my state should pass a law making Louisiana a 'Federal Taxation Sanctuary State' and not allow the Fed Govt to collect federal taxes on our citizens. Let's see if the Supremes hear that case. If a state does not have to submit to some Federal Laws, they have to submit to no Federal Law. Leftists seem to always get to have their cake and eat it too, and they never make the cake or pay for the cake.

This makes no sense. If the State government can 'choose' to ignore a Federal law then that leaves a State able to ignore the Federal law on integration/segregation. What happened to Gorsuch and Kavanaugh? They should have at least voted to hear the arguments.

So states are now free to ignore any federal law it doesn't like? Great, maybe my state can become a 2nd amendment sanctuary state. Or an affirmative action sanctuary state. Think that would be accepted by the deep state?

I simply can't fathom how the Supreme Court could possibly NOT hearthis case. In my opinion it's the single most important issue facing this country. How can any country even exist if it can't control its borders, or if its states can simply choose to ignore the rightful role of the federal government in controlling those borders? Complete insanity. The Supreme Court has become hopelessly political. And in doing so it is worse than useless, actively undermining the very constitution its justices have sworn to uphold. Now it is nothing more than a super-committee of the legislative branch.

#2/3, that means a red state can declare all the unconstitutional 'laws' in the NFA1934, GCA1968 and 1986, etc. null and void. I'll order a Thompson through the mail the next day when that happens, just like you could do in the 1920s and 30s before the commies got embedded so far into government. And Howitzers/mortars/everything that citizens should own without infringement. I even wouldn't mind an F-22 or 35 if I could afford them, which I can't. Have to go in on a group buy for those, I guess. They really are bozos driven by politics at the upper levels of government, aren't they? And dumb bozos at that. They claim to be the best and brightest, which I suspect is just their over-blown self-esteem talking.

A lot more illegal aliens will now pour into California and the taxpayers there will have to pay for all the California benefits that the leftist and liberal Democrat politicians will hand out to that increasing foreign population. Anyone who does not like that situation has two choices, either vote out the leftist and liberal Democrat politicians who caused that situation, or simply up and move out of that state.

Dancer Elliot was thrown into the spotlight amid the Black Lives Matter movement after comedian Harry Enfield used him as an example on Radio 4's Today programme to defend performing in blackface. Elliot's headstone, and that of another singer who performed in blackface in the 1930s, were covered up last week at St Margaret's church in Rottingdean, east Sussex. The wealthy stars in Beverly Hills support large Black Lives Matter protests—provided they’re held elsewhere. The city issued an ban on any gatherings over 10 people after 9 p.m. until further notice to “preserve peace and tranquility.” A proclamation issued June 13 cited the following rationale, in part, for its decision: • The Director of Emergency Services declared an “existence of a local emergency” because the city was “potentially subject to violent protests.” • Property damage was incurred on May 30 along with “widespread acts of violence.” • A group called “OCCUPY” protested until 1:00 a.m. • The use of bullhorns at night “disrupted the tranquility” of the neighborhood.

Three cities, all supremely liberal, represent an American descent into anarchy against which no one is standing. After New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said he wanted to slash the police budget, the New York City Council is going about cutting $1 billion from that budget, about 16%. That will inevitably cause a reduction of police presence around the city and, with equal inevitability, result in an increase in crime. In Minneapolis, where George Floyd was killed in police custody on May 25, the city council plans to disband its police force entirely. On Friday, the city council voted to replace the police with a “community-led public safety system.”
