Well, There Goes Amy Klobuchar...

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), one of the women on presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s vice-presidential shortlist, refused to prosecute an excessive force case against the police officer who appears to have killed black man George Floyd, the man at the center of the latest Black Lives Matter controversy. On Monday night, Derek Chauvin, a 19-year veteran of the Minneapolis police department, knelt on 46-year-old Floyd’s neck for nine minutes as the black man pleaded for his life. Floyd died after the encounter. Video of the encounter went viral on Tuesday, and the police department fired Chauvin Tuesday. Yet Chauvin saw at least 10 conduct complaints during his 19-year tenure

I'm assuming that "Klobuchar" is the Croatian word for 'Toast'.

It's amusing how almost all the dems have fatally toxic attributes that make them unacceptable for consideration as president or VP. Bernie is a communist. Warren is only 1/1024 Native American. Mini Mike is absent a personality. Spartacus. Harris who, well, you know. Pete the mayor, who isn't all that popular in his home town. Steyer, who has a climate affliction and a hysterical hatred of Trump. Abrams, who didn't win but should have and is rather obnoxious about it. Whitmer, the Soup Nazi. Rice, about to be buried in scandal (Joe as well). It's like to be a dem you have to first be a loser.

as I have tediously noted, over the past decade or so, I was a labor arbitrator for 31 years, ruled on a lot of employee grievances, including police officers who had been disciplined for use of excessive force, including firearms muse. Eliminating lumpjaw Amy from consideration for the VP nomination, because she did not propsecute use of force cases is shortsighted and meaningless, without all the facts of the cases. citizen complaints are filed against police officers all the time , and even when video shows up to exonerate the officers, those who complain don't give up. In the Tamir Rice case in Cleveland, Ohio, adult sized 12 year old Tamir Rice was drawing down on passersby, as the video proved, and he reached for his fake gun when the police arrived. The police officer shot Tamir, properly under police protocols, and bloodsucking attorney Benjamin crump arrived almost simultaneously with the bullet. Tamir's mother a twice convicted felon, sued Cleveland, and extracted millions of dollars from the City of cleveland.

An additional 140 House Republicans have joined a lawsuit Friday filed earlier this week against Speaker Nancy Pelosi over new rules in the lower chamber allowing for proxy voting. The suit was initially filed Tuesday by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy joined by 20 GOP lawmakers and four constituents on the eve of the first time members of the House have ever voted without being physically present, upending more than 200 years of precedent. “In the 231-year existence of the United States Congress, neither the House of Representatives nor the Senate has ever permitted a member to vote by proxy from the floor of the chamber,” the lawsuit opens.

Newly unsealed court documents show that top executives at Planned Parenthood were familiar with its organ-harvesting operations and privately discussed lucrative deals even as the abortion giant publicly denied profiting from the sale of body parts obtained from aborted babies. A video from the Center for Medical Progress, founded by undercover pro-life journalist David Daleiden, compiles testimonies from Planned Parenthood representatives who admit to planning to sell fetal organs, alongside documents showing the organization profited from selling the tissue. Selling fetal tissue for profit is illegal under federal law, although it is unclear how much companies can charge for shipping and handling the tissue.

More than a decade into their fame, the Kardashian-Jenners tend to induce eye rolls and sighs among jaded media consumers. But when it comes to their wealth, even critics of reality TV’s first family are intrigued; the Kardashian-Jenner machine—and the cash it generates—has been the subject of articles, podcasts, even books. But no one cares more about the topic than the family itself, which has spent years fighting Forbes for higher spots on our annual wealth and celebrity earnings lists. So when the youngest of the clan, Kylie Jenner, sold 51% of her Kylie Cosmetics to beauty giant Coty in a deal

T he tragic death of George Floyd on May 25 in Minneapolis has set off massive protests in the city and elsewhere. The protesters point to a video in which a police officer uses his knee to restrain Floyd, applying pressure to his neck for several minutes, as Floyd protests that he can’t breathe. This will remind any politically aware person of the death of Eric Garner in New York City in 2014. While New York City waited five years before firing the police officer in the Garner case, Minneapolis moved more swiftly, firing all four officers who were responsible for detaining Floyd the next day. Soon after the firings, protesters

The IRS estimates that nearly 5 million unopened paper tax returns had piled up at the agency by mid-May amid the closure of its offices nationwide due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to a report that POLITICO has obtained. Overall, the IRS estimated it had a backlog of 10 million pieces of mail to open and process as thousands of workers begin returning to the offices on Monday. In addition to tax returns, the unopened mail includes taxpayer correspondence, information returns and payments, according to the report. Through May 22, the agency had processed 120 million returns, down 14 percent from the same point in 2019, when the filing deadline was April 15.

“The torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans,” President John F. Kennedy said at his inaugural in 1961. Today, this generation is passing that torch to invite a new generation of barbarians to burn and loot and pillage, not serve and protect. The modern urban mayor is epitomized by Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who has chosen not to crack down on the barbarians torching his city, but encourages them to keep the flames hot because “The symbolism of a building cannot outweigh the importance of life.” That laughable, sophomoric statement isn’t going to save anyone or any structure. That building is not a “symbol.”

On Memorial Day, in Central Park, a white woman—derisively dubbed “Karen” before she was doxed as New York City resident Amy Cooper—lost her cool after being confronted by an apparently outraged birdwatcher (a black man) named Christian Cooper (no relation). After threatening Amy Cooper’s dog (by his own admission), and telling her that he would do something “you’re not going to like,” Christian Cooper began to record the visibly distraught dogwalker, who then called the police, emphasizing the race of the man she claimed was harassing her. Christian Cooper’s video was posted online, and, within hours, a Twitter mob

Early in the COVID-19 pandemic, people predisposed to believe in conspiracies posited the idea that the coronavirus was a Chinese bioweapon manufactured in a Wuhan laboratory. This was always far-fetched. It seemed and still seems far more likely that the virus leaked accidentally from the lab, where safety procedures were known to be sloppy. But one counterargument made against the weapon theory, that the virus was not lethal enough, always seemed unpersuasive. Surely, a smart bioweapon made by a hostile power wanting to supplant America as world leader would not kill tens or hundreds of millions of people. It would infect and kill only
