Crowds of people ignored social distancing rules to watch the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels soar over New York City's skies Tuesday. Pilots from the US Navy teamed up with the Air Force for the dazzling display over the Big Apple at around noon local time to pay tribute to the healthcare workers fighting COVID-19 on the frontlines. The Blue Angels had earlier issued a warning, telling people to 'refrain from traveling to see the flyover', tweeting: 'Residents should observe the flyover from the safety of their home-quarantine. Social distancing should be practiced at all times. Stay home and stay safe!'

Health care workers should stop preening and just do their damn jobs.
98+% recovery rate isn't exactly ebola.

Are the Blue Angels as stupid as it sounds? Stay home and watch from the safety of their homes? What ignorance. How about doing the flyover after this bs is over? If it ever is.

Quick! Ban "cramming" from sea to shining sea and all across the fruited plains!
I personally think this is a GREAT idea. I wish someone would do some flyovers in "flyover country." I'd run outside (no "cramming" necessary, but even if it was, who cares?) and watch them! Love it!

#2 where does that come from? Sheesh! This is the best outdoor event, blessed with the best weather, that New York and Philly have had in nearly two months! The patriotism is icing on the cake!

I tried to find schedules for other cities, but all I came up with was that your local radio and t.v. stations will let you know. I would love to have grandchildren see them, and it would be a very happy memory for a stressful time.

I understand this will be happening throughout the country as a thank you to the doctors and nurses. It was awesome to watch them fly over Las Vegas.

Oops guess that backfired. I bet they don't get out my way. We are pretty used to everything being all about the coasts as if the rest of us don't exist. But we'll see. Hell they'd probably take ground fire from Chicago anyway.

As social animals, there's a need to be with other human beings. Only a very few are really satisfied living the hermit's life. Even being in the company of other people with the most expressive part of the face covered... you might be able to tell if someone's smiling and not grimacing by the eyes.
I just pray for everyone's wellbeing.

Whenever I'm at a football game and they have either a Blue Angels or a Thunderbirds fly over, I get the chills and choke up. It makes me feel so good to be an American. What better tribute to the health care workers to show our appreciation.
Thank you President Trump

We had planned to take grandkids to the Thunderbirds shows at Luke AFB in March and Hill AFB in June. Unfortunately, both have been canceled. Even watching the videos is thrilling. But, in person it's unbelievable. No wonder fighter pilots are such cocky little guys. They earn it.

I would be the first one outside on a beach to watch these awesome flight teams. Best of the best. Come on. They are here for US
BTW. the #5 pilot is a women. She was the pilot of number six. Moved up to five. She flies upside down! Now a Major!

I've been watching B-52s from Barksdale fly over my house for the last 2 days. Along with several C-130s shooting Touch and Goes at the Texarkana airport. Been a great show.

That is an acceptable activity; I'd just give everyone a free-pass for going out.

If you get the opportunity, bring a scanner to one of those shows. Listening to the commander give instructions is a total treat. He's pulling god knows how many G's and his voice is still as cool as a cucumber. "Over the top ready now." Sounds like an NPR radio host.

I saw from Roosevelt Island. It was a great show.
No one in Manhattan or Queens traveled other than to get some exercise by walking and stayed well away from each other. btw, the social distancing is based on WITHOUT masks.

Mayor De Blasio sent the police to a funeral of a Jewish man because there were to many people attending. It seemed to be ok to watch some planes fly over but not to pay respect to a Jewish leader. What's the matter Bill, don't you like Jews?
I' m just doing what the media does to Republicans all of the time.
