San Francisco—Wondering where your coronavirus stimulus check is, if it isn’t in your bank account just yet? There will soon be a tool for that! The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service announced Friday it will launch a tool this week allowing Americans to register and track their stimulus checks. The tool is expected to be available around April 15. The free “Get My Payment” tool located on the IRS.gov website will allow taxpayers who filed their tax returns in 2018 or 2019 but did not provide their banking information on their return to submit direct deposit information as to ensure they get

Comments:

Our absurd tax code requires some 75,000 IRS employees on high salaries, countless numbers of business and personal hours utterly wasted on record-keeping simply for the sake of preparing tax returns, plus untold numbers of tax accountants, tax attorneys, and companies peddling tax software, plus business decisions made to reduce tax burdens instead of rational economic reasons. Everyone's standard of living would skyrocket by removing this millstone, but the ill-gotten gains of lawyers and lobbyists take precedence.

With today's AI computer technology, the IRS department should be run by 3 people. One for handling the answering machine and coffee maker, one for operating the A/C and guarding the office with a handgun and the last one, an IT guy from India. Save billions!

States are canceling plans for extra hospitals as the coronavirus pandemic, though deadly, falls short of doomsday predictions that the U.S. healthcare system couldn’t handle the onslaught of patients. New York—the state suffering from the most COVID-19 cases and deaths—postponed plans for make-shift hospital sites, as has Michigan, which recently emerged as one of the next hot spots. Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, whose state suffered the first COVID-19 outbreak in the U.S. in January, is packing up a field hospital that the feds built at the Century Link Field Event Center. He said the state doesn’t need it even if

The second vaccine safety trial for coronavirus is underway in the US using a skin-deep shot instead of the usual deeper jab injected into the muscle. The pinch should feel like a simple skin test, a researcher told one of the 40 volunteers lying on an exam table in Kansas City, Missouri, on Wednesday. 'It's the most important trial that we've ever done,' Dr John Ervin of the Center for Pharmaceutical Research told The Associated Press afterward. 'People are beating down the door to get into this trial.' The experiment, using a vaccine candidate developed by Inovio Pharmaceuticals, is part of a global hunt

I think it might actually have some merit.” Sen. Bill Cassidy, Louisiana Republican, has pitched the idea of an immunity registry to document people

Still, a notable portion of the public—particularly conservatives—believes that the virus emerged from a laboratory rather than nature, according to a new poll released on Wednesday. Major U.S. airlines have come under criticism for spending nearly $45 billion on stock buybacks and dividends over the past five years before asking Congress for a $50 billion bailout in the coronavirus crisis. The $2.2 trillion relief package signed into law on March 27 met the airline industry's demand for $50 billion in loans and grants, but restricts stock buybacks, dividends, layoffs and executive pay raises. However, in recent years the industry splashed out billions on share repurchases, which help prop up the price of a company's stock, leading some to believe that the costly bailout could have been minimized or avoided.

One word keeps recurring in online discussions of Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s latest orders to fight the state’s raging COVID-19 outbreak: “Insanity.” Last week, the first-term Democrat issued an order extending the state’s stay-at-home policy, which had been set to expire April 15, until May 1. Michigan has the third-highest number of coronavirus cases of any state in America, and certainly strong measures are required to get the pandemic under control. But the devil is in the details, and Whitmer’s new order instantly provoked a firestorm of outrage. Among the complaints was that Whitmer had prohibited sale of seeds and other garden supplies,
