Chris Cillizza of CNN sent one of the most unintentionally hilarious posts into the Twittersphere when he proudly displayed his new (and ugly) sweater that read “America Needs Journalists.”Apart from the obvious tone-deafness of the message being sent at a time when most American would gladly trade the entire CNN staff for a single grocery store worker, trucker, medic, or just about anything else, this intrepid CNN American hero stumbled upon a sentiment that conservatives can fully get behind. America does need journalists. Too bad we have so few of them.Irony is never quite as thick as when journalists are preening about themselves,

An honest free press and true journalists, yes! Not the dishonest press which is DNC fed as "the free press" that passes as journalists that we have now. If one of these current "journalists" tell me the sun came up this morning, I'll go look for myself. I do not trust them. Corporate ownership of our press is certainly NOT a good thing.

If our nation is to survive, there are a number of our whose institutions whose employees must put their personal political views aside and remain as neutral as humanly possible. These include our law enforcement agencies, our judicial system, our taxing entities, and our news media. Liberals relish hero worship and the cult of personality, but there is a very good reason why baseball cards do not exist for umpires.

When they turn away from being activists and perform the function of simply reporting the "who, what, where, when, and how" of a story, then we'll have journalists. Every "article" produced by this crowd should appear and be labeled as "opinion" pieces - not straight reporting. But then they wouldn't be "C-list" celebrities and get invited to all the right Washington parties...

Perhaps it's time to consider some common sense corporate media assault journalist control.

To be fair to the true journalists, keep in mind that 95 percent of them give the rest a bad name.

Define "journalist." It used to mean a person who professionally reported the who, what, where, when and how of an event---being very careful to NOT report the WHY because that could border on "opinion" and NOT "news."
What we have today are blathering liberal wannabe social-worker/hand-wringers who believe that their job as journalists is "to speak for those who can't speak for themselves." And so we are being fed a diet of MINORITY issues 24/7. It's the 24/7 part that is really important here. In the eyes of the casual reader/viewer, the MINORITY view morphs into legitimate news---simply because of the continual repetition. To those who pay attention, however, it is DISTORTED news.
Trump has seized on this and calls it fake news, which implies they are lying about what they report. But they aren't. They're distorting the news by carefully cherry-picking the issues they report.

I read it some where this morning, "If we're closing all non-essential businesses, why is CNN still on the air?" I'd add MSNBC to that, along with the WaPo and the NYT.

We have needed the press for a long time. Shame that the press is no longer in existence. What we have are the sycophantic media ring kissers instead. I blame Walter Cronkite the liar for starting the slide into irrelevancy during the Vietnam war, and Woodward and Bernstein for finishing the destruction of our press.

America need honest journalists that report the news, not slandering the politicians or reporting in accurate or untrue news. The public no longer trusts the media or the government because the media says one thing an the government says another. The media needs to report the news accurately, good, bad, or indifferent.
