A truly awful idea: Some liberals

It’s not much of a shock to discover that Rachel Maddow doesn’t like President Trump’s daily briefings on the coronavirus.
“I feel like we should inoculate ourselves against the harmful impact of these ongoing false promises and false statements by the president by recognizing that when he’s talking about the coronavirus epidemic, more often than not, he is lying,” she told her MSNBC viewers.
What is rather surprising is what Maddow wants to do about it, an idea that is gaining cachet among other commentators on the left as well.

The best way to beat the strategy of the false news media to misrepresent what POTUS Trump has to say or to put a totally different spin on it by being selective in what they choose to publish and leaving out crucial information is for POTUS to speak directly to the people. No wonder they are having a conniption fit.

Better than rally's - he can speak to the entire country including entire families who are home now. Some have never had the opportunity to her the President before this. Very important to hear his words directly and not filtered through a hostile press.

Oh, please, Howie. Fauci is a Hillary supporting leftist hack. I’d believe PDT over Fauci any day of the week.
As to those who want to stop the daily briefings - those briefings are successful, leftist polling shows it, and the media can’t have this president succeeding. Who cares if millions of people die as long as they can take out this president who is becoming more popular by the minute. If they quit airing the briefings, we should carpet bomb them with protest emails and phone calls - and not just to the likes of MSNBC, but also their advertisers.

If MSNBCCBSNBCABCCNN cancelled the briefings would anyone notice? President Trump may be overly optimistic compared to experts like Anthony Fauci but there’s Fauci standing right next to the President with unimpeded access to reporter’s questions and the microphone at any briefing he cares to attend. So there’s that, Miss Maddow.

To anyone with any common sense, these briefings are the duties of an elected leader and Commander in chief. He and his staff are making decisions that affect all Americans, and it is necessary for him to keep everyone calm and informed.
This is what transparency looks like, you Commie hacks.

To be honest, I have watched the briefings to learn about what is going on. The media tends to play up the fear factor and I want facts/information I can use.
I do want to see the Secretary of Education and get information on home schooling / distance learning. Seeing Betsy DeVos will set liberals' hair on fire, but many states have closed schools and now need to utilize the technology that has been deployed over the years as the primary tool for student/teacher interaction and I do not think many schools are prepared to use the technology. If nothing else, have K-12 students reading or being read to. This should not be a vacation.

Step back for a minute and consider what these lying "broadcast" networks are saying: "In the middle of this panDEMic, we don't want the people to hear from the president--the person in charge of the country, so we're not going to broadcast it."
And we accept it as normal. Stunning!

Re #8 - I am now seeing PSAs featuring Dr. Fauci. Fauci was the one who first started hyperventilating that COVID-19 worked have higher mortality rate then the flu and sadly, Lou Dobbs ( of al people) featured him early on his show and helped to stoke this crisis. The CDC has never run ads that I can recall about dealing with SARS, MERSm H1N1, etc. I think the good doctor is enjoying his sudden fame after 40 years of faithful bureaucratic service (snark).
And please, no one here tell me that because he's a doctor his political opinions don't cloud his medical thinking.

The Democrats/liberal media want these briefings stopped because they are so good. Even the reporter-jackals have toned it down a bit because Trump is really on top of things and takes a lot of questions. There isn't any aide telling him it's time to stop, like there typically is at Presidential press conferences. And also, he isn't afraid to call them out for obnoxious ("nasty") questions.

You can bet if he was not being effective, the networks would be airing it non-stop. The President in these settings is very effective. He is not the bogeyman that the media has painted him to be. He comes off as sincere and more than willing to let others speak. He is kind and inserts humor which is very charming and that does not gel with the way the media portrays him. Many Americans who do not follow politics are watching now and are getting to know him better. He’s coming off in a good light and the media hacks just cannot have that. He must always be portrayed as orange man bad, but the people are seeing that he’s not so bad. Media hacks like Maddow are busting a gut because of it and know they need to stop it. What she doesn’t understand is that Americans will seek out these briefings because they want to know what is happening. Maddow like most libs want to censor anyone who they oppose. They are so invested in shaping the narrative that when truth and facts are revealed, their only recourse is to try shut it down because they have no game. Their policies are toxic, their candidates are senile, and the American people know it. They got nothin’.

I, for one, look forward to the briefings, but think the questions by the press should be scrapped on live TV. Some questions are so stupid and repeats. You can follow up in print if you want to read their lies.

How do people with virtually no ratings and no following have the NERVE to tell the rest of us what to watch, and who we can watch. If Trump was NOT on t.v. speaking these same people would be decrying his lack of transparency. GIVE ME A BREAK!

Nobody complained about network time for a full eight years when the mumbling, teleprompter-reading, nonsense-spreading, lying, kenyan usurper abused the microphone and burned up good air time because he and his horrid "wife" could not keep their faces hidden from the public. The leftists can suck it up and hear this important message every day.

Minor tangent, brought to mind by Kurtz's remarks on Dr. Fauci contradicting Trump: I think it may well be Fauci whose credibility takes a hit if/when Hydroxychloroquin proves to be an effective treatment against the Chinese disease. Fauci went waaaaaay out of his way to pour cold water on the drug after Trump had mentioned it. Technically Fauci may have been correct -- anecdotes aren't controlled scientific studies -- but the anecdotes have piled up fast and deep, and Fauci's tone was less "looks good so far but let's wait and see" and more "if it wasn't in the Lancet or the NEJM it's snake oil." And not so tangentially, Trump will look all the better for his encouraging remarks about it.

Last night the 3 major networks refused to show the briefing. It lasted for 2 hours and he answered as many questions as he could in an hour and a half. I didn't see any rah, rah rah's or vote for me comments. Both he and his team answered every question and their was some very good info given out. He finally ended the 2 hours because the questions were getting repetitive. Sadly ABC, NBC, and CBS want to keep their viewers ignorant of what is going on. Sad when you censor what your viewers can see. Sadly, we are dealing with a bunch of Communists.

So MadCow (love that Ldotter 22) says censor Trump because he lies so much but if he does say something true then they can run tape on that. So, the media and MadCow will decide what is true? Yeah. What world is she in? This is a new day and more and more people do not believe the crap the these people are peddling. That said, I know it's Lent, but I can't say how very much I hate these people. And I don't want to feel that way. But, their arrogance and condescension to Trump and all of us is infuriating.

Maddow and her elk are unhappy with the briefings because Trump is coming across well and improving his ratings of handling the crisis. If he did not show up, he would be criticized for that. Therefore Maddow is irrelevant.

These briefings are a golden opportunity. They were shown in the mainline channels during the weekend. We are confined in our homes and they provide first-rate information and entertainment. Dr. Deborah Birx is an all-American Star. Everyday a new dress and scarf, each one nicer than the next. Seeing her joking around with The Donald yesterday about her low grade fever was a television classic. We are in good hands. With the help of God and hydroxy-Chloroquine we will re-elect President Trump and keep Freedom.

The mainstream (liberal) media is run by New York and Washington, DC liberal Democrats, who would be pleased as punch for President Trump and other Republicans to go sit in a corner and shut up, so that the leftist and liberal Democrats could defend China, destroy the economy, and transform the country into some sort of not yet thunk out socialist utopia. If those media jerks try to stop the President from giving national televised briefings to the American People during this national emergency, the President should invoke his authority under the Defense Production Act and order the media networks to carry his briefings live without any interruption.
