If you ever wondered how public servants get so rich serving the public, or why the Senate and House are filled with so many millionaires, part of the answer is that they are often privy to knowledge not available to the rest of us. Knowledge is power and it can also be very profitable if you are among the legislators who can take advantage of it before any of us common folk hear about it. Just ask Sen. Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., who exploited knowledge provided in a private briefing about the Wuhan virus and its possible impact and along with her husband sold stock worth millions...

To me, her Swamp Critter actions are less concerning (given her donation history) than why Kemp chose her in the first place.
What changes to his bank account(s) were made as a result of this plum selection?

If you read the article, you find that about 80% is about why Doug Collins should have been chosen not Loeffler. Sobieski leads with the allegations of insider trading, then walks away from it like a drive-by shooting. He has always seemed better than that. Personally, I appreciated Rep. Collins willingness to fight in the House. However, there are two basic questions. 1. Does Ms. Loeffler or her husband exercise any discretion in her trades. 2. She alleges that there is a 3 week lag between any trade made in her account by the Manager and her receipt of notification of the trade. That should be an easy proof for Mr. Sobieski. It’s missing from any writings on this which makes me think nobody checked or if they did, it didn’t provide the answer they needed.
Personally, I was drawn to Collins’s performance in Judiciary during Impeachment but if the answer to the two questions above is yes, Mr. Sobieski owes her a apology and a retraction. We should be better than that.

It seems I crossed my statement. If Ms. Loeffler and her husband do not exercise discretion in the alleged trading or the trades are not to the knowledge of she and her husband for three weeks, (predating the briefing), the she’s owed an apology.

I read HER stocks are in a blind trust, not the husbands. Are we to belive there is no pillow talk about what she hears in closed door briefings? That the husband doesn't give a heads up to the trust administrator? There is a three week lag in when she is NOTIFIED of the stock sale. So what? She already knows, the husband told her about the sale the day it happened - more pillow talk.

Fauci is one of the people who briefed the closed door senators only meeting. Kelly's husband is chairman of the NY Stock Exchange he co owned the stocks. People are probably concerned by comparing the stocks she sold to the ones she purchased. She was appointed by Kemp. Any way you look at it Collins is more qualified. Kelly was on Fox twice in one day & on twitter attempting to explain actions to her blind trust stock.

She's only one of many. Avoid voting for incumbents unless you have a very good reason too. Long stays in Washington = corruption in many cases.

So far, I've only seen articles on Republican legislators. Does this mean the democrats are all as pure as new fallen snow, or are they just exempt from laws. I think we all know the snswer to that.

Agree with #6-I saw that interview and didn't need to be one those tv shrinks that can tell if a person is lying by focusing on the interviewee's physical gestures to know that she's a pretty prevaricator.

I saw her on television over the weekend. She is very high on herself. A very imperious lofty Loeffler…

Dianne Feinstein also sold her stock. Is she going to skate while only the Republicans are forced to resign? If one goes, they all should go. It is wrong, but if nothing happens to Feinstein, nothing should happen to the others.

I do not know what Loeffler has done, and will give her a chance to respond to any charges. I am not willing to convict anyone based on media attacks. I also support Senators having a portfolio. Everyone should be allowed to invest in the American economy, and everyone should be allowed to use the experience and knowledge they have to do it, so long as that information is not inside information. We will see.
