March is Women’s History Month. Last week, just in time for International Women’s Day on March 8th, I flipped on the news and was greeted by a very angry blonde shouting, “I will never stop talking about my abortion!”
My first thought—well, after “is that Anna Nicole Smith?” before I reminded myself she’s been dead for many years—was, “It doesn’t look like anyone’s stopping her, but okay.” Indeed, actress Busy Phillips, who has probably gained more fame in the last week for her abortion rant than any of her film roles, was greeted with cheers from the friendly crowd. As the demonstrators waved Planned Parenthood signs in support,

What role models? Women who did great things, now and in the past, did so because of their character. They just happened to be women! Madam Curie was one of the first women I read about in high school. Her discovery of radium had nothing to do with her gender!

In this age where abortion is the most important sacrament of the “religion” of leftism, it makes perfect sense that the feminist role models’ only accomplishments are killing their kids and then bragging about it.

I've got a woman heroine that hardly anyone knows about. Her name was Margaret Haughery. She was an Irish immigrant who with her mother, father, brother and baby sister left Ireland and ended up in Baltimore. Her parents died, her sister died and her brother ran away. Margaret who was nine, became a servant and worked mostly as a laundress. When she was 21 she married, had a baby and the family moved to New Orleans. Her husband died, her baby died and she was alone again. She went to work as a laundress. She was very frugal with her money and bought two cows. She sold the milk, saved her money and eventually had a dairy herd. She became partner with a bakery ended up owning it. She became quite wealthy and well known for her charity and philanthropy especially toward orphans. All this from a woman who never learned how to read or write.
There's a statue of her in New Orleans which is the first statue in honor of a woman erected on public land. Somehow I don't think the SJW's of our time would like her. She loved children, all children unlike many public women I could name.

How about his woman. Talk about courage. But it was more important to give the Nobel Peace Prize to al bore and his globaloney warming slide show than to honor a true hero...

Who needs famous role models? Be the person who sets the example. Be kind, loyal and responsible. Fulfill your obligations and don't blame your shortcomings on others. Teach your kids, both sons and daughters, that life isn't always fair and laws don't need to be passed to prevent personal calamities.

I know this sounds racist, and I am not writing this as a racist rant, but, we just had Black History Month, and now we have Women's History Month. When or will there ever be a ' White Contributions to America Month?' My guess is, never!

There aren't any, not on the Left. The best feminist role model I know of would be Sarah Palin. She did it all herself, not needing the coattails of a spouse or other man to get her into the position like Hillary and others on the Left. GOP women always are going to be better role models for younger generations of women, for GOP women don't need to tear down men to succeed. We succeed in life in spite of the competition by using our God given minds.
The OT has many great women for role models. Like the beautiful Jewish girl Esther, who went to bat for her people when they were threatened with extinction Or Ruth the Moabitess, who came to a strange land with her Hebrew MIL and wound up being an ancestor of Jesus? Or Rahab the tavern owner, who hid the Hebrew spies from the authorities at the risk of her own life? Now those were Women of high character, what God looks for in any mortal.

Thanks for posting this, it was very informative. I learned Hester Vaughan's story and now I know more than anyone would ever want to know about the odd looking Olay spokeswoman. Oh, and I'll be searching for an alternative to my Olay lotion.

isn’t the concept “ role model” spurious ? Why model yourself on anyone ? Who blazed a trail ? earned a place in their profession , made , did something never before seen ?
Are weemen capable ? or are they not ?Are they delicate flowers ? or not ? Isn’t needing a”role “model allowing another person to direct your character? and not one’s own inner drive . Why the Christian ethical standards . work hard , do good , trust the Lord had to be reprogrammed into “role” modeling ? wondering under the stars ....

FTA: Phillips vowed that she will "never stop talking about my abortion or my periods or my experiences in childbirth, my episiotomies, my yeast infections, or my ovulation that lines up with the moon!"
Wow. She must be fun at parties.

After my three abortions I despised babies and small children. When friends had babies I would never pick them up. I tossed off jokes about smells and poopies, and adopted the air of the free-spirit unbound by mundane suburban life. Deep inside I knew I could have nothing to do with babies or I would feel the totality of what I had done, which had to be avoided at all costs.
Anger and bitterness are the effects of mortal sin. The weight of a dead soul is horrendous and the burden increases daily. The crushing never ceases in the total darkness of the soul who has banished God. Because they have no Spirit within them, they have no Life. It is impossible for them to live in the world; they can only exist. Without Divine Assistance, they are literally on their own. Everything depends on them alone and the only tools available to them are anger, envy, jealously, hatred, manipulation and lies. They have to scheme and plot to advance, and if its at the expense of another - all the better. In their core they are terrified, wounded animals that must always be on the offensive against recognizing the horrendous nature of their actions. They sense only an abyss of pain and utter destruction, while ignoring the bridge provided by the Cross of Christ. And so, they howl.
The "I'm Proud of my Abortion" mantra is the pro-death's party response to a very effective tactic started by 40 Days for Life. Within the first few years of the vigil efforts startling signs began to be held by some of the prayer warriors: "I Regret My Abortion" and "I Regret My Lost Fatherhood." The signs are black with stark yellow lettering, with the 40 Days for Life logo on the bottom. I carried my first sign back in 2008 during the Walk for Life in San Francisco. I always take it with me whenever I participate at a vigil praying the Rosary in front of Planned UnParenthood. I get flipped off and cursed a lot, which I return with a silent prayer for their conversion. Spiritual warfare is fun when you're on the winning side.
The 40 Days for Life Lenten campaign continues until April 5th. So far this campaign has had 107 known babies saved. The number of women who walked away and didn't say anything to the vigil participants are unknowable. Click on the website and find a prayer vigil near you. There are hundreds across the nation. We will end abortion when we make it unthinkable. 40 Days for Life is on the front lines in this war for souls. Welcome to the fight.
