Chris Matthews’ abrupt resignation at the beginning of MSNBC’s "Hardball" Monday night came after several weeks of blunders that prompted the network to take action, say people familiar with the matter.
Mathews spoke to part of the controversy in an on-air apology, saying that "compliments on a woman's appearance that some men, including me, might have thought were okay were never okay...and for making such comments in the past, I’m sorry."
MSNBC had no comment, but people familiar with the matter say the timetable for a planned retirement was suddenly accelerated after a series of mistakes and missteps by the onetime Jimmy Carter speechwriter and Tip O’Neill aide.

Chrissie went off the plantation. Democrats always look the other way to abuses they say they despise if you're in favor... which just increases the likelyhood of abuse by the protected. Then, when it becomes convenient, the pawn is sacrificed for "the Greater Good" of someone higher up the food chain.
The real Leaders of the Democrats are isolated from the elections. They act as "King-Makers". That way, if their message fails, it "didn't REALLY fail", it was the responsibility of the messenger.
Those lofty mountaintop elites really hate rejection.

Let's be real. In extremis over Sander's destruction of the dem party, Chrissie said stuff against the candidate that MSNBC supports. There is NO open exchange of ideas in liberal land. It is not allowed. This is a sample of how a Sanders government would work; "Off with their heads!".

Standards are for non-believers. Chris started to doubt his faith. He was instantly held to account. That's how the Left keeps the troops in line. They let you engage in any immoral behavior that suits you. But when you threaten the integrity of the heard, they use it to discredit you.

Chris is a bonafide Liberal Democrat and a good American...not a progressive socialist. The climate at MSNBC has become smothered with pure insanity. I don't blame him for quitting. Maybe this will cause a Domino effect. I remember Chris from the Mclaughlin Group hay days in the 90's.

Like #3, I watched Matthews back in the early 90s. He was rough on Bill for his Monica escapades. Then the turn to "normalcy" for MSNBC. Haven't watched since.
The guy is getting long in the tooth for television. The youthful exuberance is long gone. His political instincts aren't all that anymore. He lives in the Tip O'Neill era, and hardly a soul remembers either him or that time. Fox will find him a slot of some kind, probably starting as a "contributor".

The harassment scandal broke over the weekend, thanks to his criticizing Bernie. He was safe as long as he toed that democrat narrative, but he slipped and told some harsh truths. So the DNC had the MeToo brigade come out of the weeds and start the attacks. His network probably paid a pretty penny to get him to leave fast. But will the women go away? That is the question. Mission accomplished so they probably will head back to the weeds.
What really irks though is their brazen double standards here. Why aren't they upset by Groping Joe, who grabbed every woman he could even on camera, and did not care who saw? Now that was harassment.

Many women dress to me noticed in nice clothing. In my life time women loved to be complimented on their clothing. As a man, I wasn't offended by anyone saying, nice tie, nice shirt. Many years ago I needed to see a proctotologist and he said nice shoes. I am sorry, but radical women need to be avoided, they probably carry the Corona Virus.

In the Clinton presidential debacle, if I recall Matthews came down pretty hard (excuse the word hard) on Clinton. Most of the time was was a blowhard. The moist tingle down his leg really got me.
