If Rep. Adam Schiff was around in 1864, he would have orchestrated the impeachment of President Abraham Lincoln.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Schiff, D-Calif., and his confederate impeachment managers demand that President Trump be removed from office because the president did something that might advantage him politically in the upcoming election. This, they claim was an impeachable “abuse of power.”
On the floor of the Senate, Schiff exclaimed that Trump wanted “to cheat” in the November presidential election by asking Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son over potential corruption. Democrats are the only ones who are buying this thin gruel.

It's the same temper tantrum, though. Last time they set off a Civil War.
If Democrapts dont get who they want, they'll destroy anything on their path to punish us, for our stupidity, and feel justified doing it.

Back then, the Democrats succeeded (sp?) to keep their grift going and to keep blacks enslaved.
Now they try impeachment.

Well, naturally.Lincoln was a Republican (he was one of the party founders). And widely and vulgarly vilified by his opponents until he was assassinated and Steward basically created the cult of personality around his memory while not carrying out any of his ideas in the aftermath of the Civil War.. Would have been entirely possible that they would have engineered an impeachment of "the Great Ape"(one of the more repeatable insults used) had Lincoln lived.

The dems are way overplaying their hand. They make it sound like Trump needs to be dragged out of the WH right now and taken to the gallows. This is the man who has helped more Americans in their lives than all democrat presidents put together. The people are noticing.

The Democrats charge of "abuse of power for personal gain" is actually "use of legitimate power that is disadvantageous to us". The President was well within his authority and fully legally compliant to make the request to investigate the Bidens' corrupt payoffs. And Biden had no right to immunity from such investigation whether he was or wasn't a candidate.
The entire charge is laughable. Why is anyone even pretending that it's a legitimate basis for impeachment? The Democrats themselves are in fact provably guilty of their own charge of surveilling and investigating a candidate (Trump) for personal gain.

The notion put forth this week that the American voters cannot be trusted to remove Trump if need be at the ballot box was the ultimate form of insult by Schiff. It also revealed their game plan too. They know they cannot win this year in an honest election. So they have to employ their smears and attacks on Trump and we the people who will be voting for him again. They are going to be so mad when the ratings for the republican response to this farce beats their's.
Speaking of Lincoln, I saw a meme this week that had Lincoln and the caption of Democrats haven't been this mad at Republicans since we freed their slaves. That is very true. I imagine that they were very mad at our party back then and have never gotten over it.

Isn’t what the demonrats are doing with impeachment exactly what they are accusing the president of? Conducting an investigation to give themselves an advantage in the upcoming election? IOW, trying “to cheat”? Especially since 3 of their candidates are sitting in judgement on the president.

I still say we need to dip each voter's thumb in ink and fingerprint the record before going to vote.
Then we need a paper copy printed for the voter, and signed by a witness that their vote was cast and recorded as they chose.
Enough of these fake ballots.
And if someone is double voting, somehow. If detected, they should lose their voting rights for the first offense, and be executed for the second offense.

Can't help but notice that the Democrat leadership and most of the impeachment managers are from New York and California.

The ridiculous thing is at the time of the phone call Biden wasn't Trump's opponent in the general and he still isn't.
Trump wanted assurance that he wasn't sending aid to the same bunch of crooks the Biden's were receiving graft money from.
President Trump didn't want the United States to be an ATM for corrupt countries and a cookie jar for American democrats to scoop money out of like the Biden's, Kerry, Hillary Clinton and others. It's the President's job and he did use the word 'we want to know' not "I want to know" who is in charge it's call foreign policy. In the Civil War I guess Schiff would be the equivalent of Colonel Schiff from the great southern state of Alabama representing Jeff Davis the real president.

I think VP Mike Pence did the right thing. Let it die a natural death, without comment.
