What divides Iowa Democrats most starkly is not income, education, gender, or even ideology. Rather, age is the factor that most strongly correlates with whether an Iowa Democrat supports Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders.
In the latest Monmouth poll of likely Iowa caucus-goers, which shows Biden showing a six-point lead over Sanders (24 percent to 18 percent), the frontrunner is in fourth place among voters aged 18 to 49, but he’s in first place because he has an astounding 31-point lead among voters 65 years of age and older.
Sanders, by contrast, is powered by younger voters. His support among Iowa Democrats over 65

Bernie’s support among the young is largely due to their insanely large student loans. The Republicans have got to figure out a way to counter seductive promise of cancellation of those loans. I would suggest that the government get out of the loan business all together for a start.

Most of the young people I now that are koo koo for Bernie think he is going to take care of them if he is elected.

The young have most recently come out of the indoctrination of the public school system and Leftist universities. They haven't had to support themselves with jobs. After some time in the real world with big chunks of money taken out of their pay and some of them crossing the tax bracket line raising their rates from 12% to 22%, they begin to rethink the idiocy and unfairness of big, intrusive, Leftist government taking THEIR money for other people.
Maybe we should raise the voting age to 30.

I remember when Obama first ran for President, and there was a video of a young girl who said that all her financial problems were over since Obama was going to pay for everything.

This election will be generational but there are still slightly more Boomers than Millennials---giving Biden the edge.
I don't think Millennials are motivated by socialist values because they want free stuff. They simply don't accept the idea of personal responsibility and are willing to trade their precious individual freedoms for promises from socialist politicians that society's ills can be resolved by redistributing the wealth.
In a way, part of this is our fault. We continue to let them Iive in our basements, don't we.

Even if Bernie's Bozos have their student loans "forgiven" they will be unemployable and will need some sort of government assistance for life. I'm sure all of the teaching positions for Gender Studies, African American Culture, Social Justice and Fairness in Life have long lines of equally qualified applicants queued up already. Hamburger Construction and Fries Technology in a technical school might be worth a shot but don't let them get near live charcoal.

After you read Dennis Prager's new book, you will understand how and why Gramp's is luring our young people to socialism. In her previous writings, Ann Coulter referred to it as the "Church of Liberalism". Today, it is termed Leftism, the new religion.

Remember millennials "you can vote yourself into socialism but you'll have to shoot your way out". Bernie wins you lose.

Young, old, or dead but still voting, ALL commiecrats have one thing in common: they are all some combination of empty-headed or wrong-headed. The more politically-involved ones seek power. The less active merely have enlisted in the free 'stuff' army. As an aggregate, they are the societal equivalent of dry rot, cancer or leprosy.

We end up paying for them, they end up paying for everyone that comes behind them forever. What a lousy deal.

It has bee illustrative to see what politics interests the youth of this nation. I think that is one reason why Howard Schultz scares the DNC so much. He has all the things that appeal to the youth, and he has the benefit of business experience of sorts, and he has youth. All things Schultz has, but not Bernie.
Only thing Bernie has is he is easily controlled by the DNC, and for the right price, he would throw in the towel if they needed him to do so. Schultz is much better a candidate for the democrats to go up against Trump. That would be a true clash of the Titans, not what is running right now. The pomposity of Bloomberg and nutiness of Steyer are not viable against Trump.
These kids think that Bernie will ease their financial load. Not a chance. If anything, he will only increase it by destroying jobs. This is a man who thinks that Americans have way too many choices in the marketplace right now, and if people had paid better attention to Bernie last time, they would not be so eager to jump on his bandwagon. This is a generation who LOVES all their choices in the marketplace, and Bernie wants to take that all away like the Bolshies did to the Russian people. Not teaching history honestly is a big part of the reason we have somebody like Bernie in this race. These kids think that freebies are awesome, but have no idea that is the bait to lure them into an Iron Curtain heck on earth.

I've said it before that socialists, fascists, and other assorted groups of collectivists should not be allowed to vote to enslave people. By what right does a large or small percentage of voters have in order to do this?

I'm still baffled as to how anyone can follow a billionaire who regularly spouts off that everyone (but him) should give up their wealth. Perhaps it's only the underachievers who think this is ideal. Anyone who has worked hard to earn his or her own money should see this hypocrit for the flim-flam man that he truly is!
You go first, Bernie! Give up your wealth and live on nothing to show us how it's done!

Bernie and Liz are the leaders of the Gimmedat Party. Young folks whose parents are weaning them of their financial support are looking to Uncle Sugar to take their parent's place as their benefactors.

#9, it always has been Leftism. Those people ever were liberal
They only took the label and falsely applied it to themselves to mislead the public.

Mao Zedong was pushed out of power when his revolution failed. He then enlisted the Chinese youth into his Red Guard and retook the power.
Crazy hormonally challenged idealistic children are easily manipulated.
