Imus did many radiothons for the Tomorrow's Children Fund, netting it millions of dollars.
"He was a very good man to our kids, no matter what he did on the radio," said Lynn Hoffman, executive director of the Tomorrow's Children Fund, several years ago. "He's an amazing man who made a difference in the lives of thousands of kids."That's how I will remember Don Imus!

Very sorry to hear this news, loved him back in the early '70's when he was with WNBC in N.Y.
Imus was his own man, gave as well as he got, had a successful career and a pretty long life. I hope he is at peace in God's loving arms.

I worked with Don in Sacramento. I dj'd evenings; he did mornings. He was cooperative, friendly and averse to drug usage.
Eternal rest grant unto Him, O Lord.

Sorry to hear.
Would listen to Imus most mornings on my way to work. Loved his bluesy music and his spontaneous personality with others on his show. I missed him when he finally went off the air. He was one of the original talk radio hosts and definitely, one of a kind.
My condolences to Deirdre, Wyatt and his other children. RIP...

I watched him on MSNBC, but the article says he sued CBS. That's confusing.
His show, with Bernard and his news reader, whose name escapes me, was funny. The routine they developed about Mayor Nagin and the New Orleans levees after the hurricane hit, was classic comedy.
I was disappointed when MSNBC knocked him off the air. MSNBC has been going downhill ever since.

A gentleman - he was the first professional interview I did. I still have the tape I did at 18. Set up my second interview with Wolfman Jack.

Imus was the first to call Howard Stern a moron. The man was smart and perceptive.

#14 is wrong. Howard Stern's father was the first to call him a moron.
