Monday on “CNN Newsroom,” Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) sounded off on the possibility Senate Republicans call on former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, to testify over their dealings with Ukraine. Van Hollen said he thinks the Bidens testifying “is really irrelevant” in President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial over “abuse of power.”“I haven’t heard any Republican senators say they wanted to call those witnesses,” Van Hollen remarked. “If they make that request, obviously that would become part of the discussion.

Irrelevant, are you kidding? Dems say Trump was trying to dig up dirt on Biden, but Biden and son appear to have been involved in high corruption. Joe Biden and his son need to both be brought under oath. We sure have a lot of lying idiots in Congress.

If DJT chooses to put on a defense, of course Joe Biden and his son, Robert, should be called as witnesses. Joe could explain, under oath, exactly why it was so important to him to have the prosecutor fired. Did Joe do that in other countries? Has it ever happened anywhere, by anyone? Why the threat to withhold the billion dollars???
And Robert (his real first name, not Hunter) could explain exactly how he applied for the Ukraine position, and what his skills were..
Bring them on!

Dim propaganda says anything that fails to show Trump is “GUILTY!” is irrelevant.

If a Democrat thinks it isn't important, it makes me think it is twice as important to have the Bidens up there. But of course, a good number of Republicans are just as dirty, so I don't think we will ever have a worthwhile trial.

They need to go after the people in the state dept. who knew Hillary was up to no good and went right along with it. How many of these underlings are going to want to serve time because of Hillary? Lots of people in the line, right on up to B.O. I hope the hits just keep on coming!

#3 - Of course it's relevant. If Biden is proven to be corrupt, then as the nation's chief law enforcement officer Trump was acting within his power and authority to have it investigated. That's not an abuse of power.

Van Hollen is among the most despicable and dishonest members of the Democrat caucus in the Senate. He models himself after Chuck U. and Little Dick Durbin by lying 99.9% of the time.

Let them prove their innocence. If they’ve done nothing wrong, what’s the problem?

Hello, Ukraine! The Bidens are available for prosecution in your fine country.
Hunter better not use the excuse that he has a child in AR.

What is this farce about calling witnesses? Just vote. 67 Senators are not going to vote to remove the President of the United States in an election year when no impeachable offenses have been cited by the Democrats in the House. This whole thing is a joke.

Chris Van Hollen has been the south end of a northward-headed horse since before birth and anything he might have to say about anything --- let alone the fake impeachment of President Trump --- deserves absolutely no attention.

Its not irrelevant but it will never happen. The Bidens are provably involved in money laundering and bribery of a foreign official to obstruct criminal prosecution. Their lawyer would never let them testify unless they expect to add perjury to their list of crimes. They would plead the 5th. It might be great TV but it won't advance the President's defense since they have to be considered innocent until proven guilty.

We should not be surprised by this. Dems will literally say and do anything and they get away with it because of the media’s unethical failures and travesty of existence. Stop being surprised.

Chris Van Hollen is the loser Senator from Maryland. We in other states don't give a hoot what he thinks. He's in the senate minority and according to the House, the minority is not important and does not make decisions.

Here's the problem: We reasonable, rational people on the right rely on logic. We do not understand that the Demos don't operate on the same playing field. WE think that if we exposed the Bidens ---the public would sit up and say, "Wow. They are corrupt and have to be held accountable." That's NEVER gonna happen! To assume it will is not only naive, but stoooopid.
The Demos short term goal is to get their toe in the door by insisting on witnesses. They want Bolton especially to testify. He's already signaled that he's capable of attacking Trump.
If the Pubbies ever agree to call witnesses and the Bidens testify, the Demos won't be worried AT ALL. Why? Because they know they can count on the MEDIA to carry on for them ----to feverishly accuse the Pubbies 24/7 of wicked, despicable, dirty personal attacks on a Trump opponent. They will NEVER present the Hunter story in the proper context and we're living in a dreamland if we think they will.
The ONLY way to defeat the Demos at their own game is to REFUSE any further witnesses testimony. This is the only area where I'm worried McConnell could go wobbly. I hope his hinting that he may still want to call witnesses is nothing more than a strategic bluff.

#18, you said they have to be considered innocent until proven guilty. But shouldn't Trump be afforded that same courtesy? That's not how the Dems work! They have called him guilty before he was elected!

Irrelevant to point fingers at the real criminals who actually did collude with the Ukrainians as it would be a distraction from the fake collusion attributed to Donald Trump. I get it.
