Did we just witness an historic event, the impeachment of only the third president in the entire history of the Republic?Or was this a case of accusatio interrupta: impeachment interrupted by an untimely withdrawal from Nancy Pelosi? The speaker of the House, unhappy at Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s obvious contempt for the House proceedings, has suggested that she might not file the charges with the Senate. In which case, the Senate could not hold a trial. In which case, Donald Trump could neither be exonerated nor convicted.

President Donald J. Trump did NOTHING to cause this phony impeachment other than winning the election in 2016. Nancy Pelosi can take her impeachment paperwork and shove it where the Sun don't shine for all me and mine care. Trump in 2020 MAGA/KAG

A most excellent article. If you don’t read anything else, read this:
“The bottom line is that, for many decades now, no matter which party has been in office, the real center of power has resided in the regime party, the party that government itself evolved into. Although plenty of Republicans have sat around this table, happy to engorge themselves on the attendant spoils, the regime party has always been the Democratic party. They encouraged an agenda of dependency that they could simultaneously cater to, exploit, and manage—an agenda that resulted not only in that bloated administrative apparatus that is staffed primarily by Democrats but also a sort of professional underclass of clients of this apparatus. Until the election of Donald Trump, the fealty of this underclass was reliably Democratic. Now there are cracks in the edifice, a terrifying prospect for their managers.
This is the thing to keep in mind. Donald Trump represents an existential threat to this status quo. Which is why he had to be stopped. On January 20, 2017, 19 minutes after Trump was inaugurated, the Washington Post announced in a headline “The campaign to impeach President Trump has begun.” Indeed, there were calls for Trump’s impeachment even before he was sworn in. Al Green (D-Texas) put it with admirable clarity when he said, back in 2017 (reiterating the sentiment in 2018) that “I am concerned that if we do not impeach this president, then he will get reelected.”
And this: “Trump’s real crime, in other words, was having been elected in the first place.”
It was disappointing to see Kimball’s final conclusion that this “regime” Party will likely weather out Trump’s eight-year administration and continue on as is after he finishes. I’d rather the whole apparatus AND the Democrat Party be destroyed!

“Something Pinteresque: all angst, no denouement. Partruient montes, as Horace put it, nascetur ridiculus mus: “the mountains go into labor and give birth to a ridiculous mouse.”
Methinks the only reason you quote Horace then translate him is to say “You’re stupid, I’m not”. You can put me in the stupid column!

What we have here is the absolute certainty that the next Democrat president will be impeached, hounded every day, driven from office for existing.

Unfortunately he has not been impeached yet. Only articles of impeachment have been railroaded through the House. Once they get to the Senate then he has been impeached

As many LDotters have pointed out here, November 2020 will be a pivotal moment in America's history. We will either be turned into a dark socialist state or we won't. The swamp is preferring the former. The globalists are waiting. Rollout of the new world order is waiting. The msm is waiting. But, we expect to disappoint them...once again.

It's amazing how many in the Radical Left believe that PDJT has been impeached and must leave office.

Pelosi is withholding the Articles from the Seante because they have served their purpose, even without any trial. One can argue PDT has not been impeached; the politicians will disagree saying the House voted out Articles. (Let's not forget, impeachment is not anything more than accusations, an indictment. The trial of the high crimes and misdemeanors is in the Senate.)
Everyone makes out in this Impeachment Interruptus: The Dem radicals can squawk about impeaching the MF; the Dem "moderates" can claim this was a serious act and that the delay only proves that as the Senate will not hold a "fair trial"; the GOPe House minority hung together gaining cred from the grassroots; the Senate will not hold a trial that would create consternation for those on the take; and PDT has a great cudgel for the upcoming election season.
This "impeachment" is a win-win-win-win-win.
