Rep. Collin Peterson (D-MN), chairman the House Committee on Agriculture, confirmed Saturday that he plans to vote against impeaching President Donald Trump over his contacts with Ukraine unless, in the unlikely event, additional information comes to light.Speaking to The Globe on Saturday, Peterson, Minnesota’s most senior member, said, “unless they come up with something between now and Wednesday,” he will vote against impeachment and expects up to five other Democrats to join him. “Maybe something will change. I doubt it,” the lawmaker added. The Minnesota Democrat said he believes that the president has “not committed a crime,”

We'd love to have you in the Republican Party. There's always room for someone who uses their head for something other than a hat rack!

Whao Doggies! Commonsense out of Minnesota?? How'd that happen?/// I think that no matter how much Pelosi terrorizes her minions in the House, I don't believe she has the votes for this. They have learned to keep their heads down though, they know what happens to any show of support for Trump.

If one of two more do this, it may cause a chain reaction.

I am writing this from his district in Minnesota. I don't live here, but I do spend a lot of time here. It's -10F this morning, by the way.
Peterson is the lone remaining example of an honest Democrat circa 1990. His party left him.
I have thought that he would retire this after this term, but I might be wrong.

I wouldn't be so quick to welcome him into the Republican party or to praise his independence or ethics. I'm cynical enough to believe he's posturing and has been given permission by Pelosi to vote against impeachment because she doesn't need his vote.

I'm with the poster who doesn't trust this. Democrats lie they are conniving and everything is a plan with that group of misfits. He got permission from Pelosi to say this.

We need honest politicians. Can't say that about most Democrats and many Republicans as well.
Impeach Trump for obstructing Congress? They aren't running a valid investigation. There are no crimes.
Impeach Trump for abusing his power? What do you call what Congress is doing? Its a coup.
Welcome to the Republican party Collin Peterson. Hope you like it. Time will tell if you can be trusted.

I still can't quite understand this kamikaze impeachment...and am still not convinced it won't spin into censure by Wednesday. Pelosi can go out and "thank God" moderates have prevailed and save her and her party from taking such drastic action...'cus she doesn't have the votes to pass articles of impeachment.

Our Donald is getting impeached yet the future looks so bright. Democrat Committee Chairman abandoning his corrupt leadership. USMCA grudgingly accepted by Pelosi and China phase 1 deal done. Stock market highs and 401ks overflowing with money. Japan trade deal starts Jan 1st. Lowest unemployment and highest total employment ever. Peace and Prosperity. Is this good administration or what?

I smell a rat. There are two that are switching parties. They will vote for impeachment and Pelousy will spout that the vote was "bipartisan".

Nope. Once a DFL, always a DFL. This guy just happens to have a solid center that will not let him vote for Impeachment. Nancy ain't the boss of him.
