The Democratic-controlled Congress convened a panel of legal experts on Wednesday to inform the debate on the case for impeachment of President Donald J. Trump. Opinions will differ as to the value of this testimony insofar as the impeachment debate is concerned, but there can be no real question that this is a microcosm of what is wrong with academia today. Four academics showed up on the Hill, but only one scholar was present and -- Jonathan Turley of the George Washington University School of Law. The other three, Karlan, Feldman, and Gerhardt, were merely Democratic activists masquerading as objective academics. Unfortunately, what the country observed on Capitol Hill

What the country observed on Wednesday was complete partisan hate-ridden idiocy but it was not “unfortunate” as it surely opened the eyes of thousands as to what is going on in higher education.

Academia has been dead for several years now. It's just been going through its Weekend at Bernie's phase, but people have finally started noticing the corpse.

Higher education is becoming like getting a blue ribbon at a fair. A bunch of people look you over then give you a ribbon, your degree. It used to mean you had achieved a certain level of knowledge and competence. Now it means you were there for a certain period of time, paid your tuition, and did what your judges told you to.
The problem is, we are desperately in need of true Tertiary education. The question is, who will provide it?

Liberalism invades and destroys everything it touches. It's like the invasion of the body snatchers. Even once great non-aligned Foundations get invaded by leftists and they drift into drivel and activism, such was the case with the Carnegie-Melon Foundation.
Universities should be required by Federal Law to publish the "Bias Scorecard" of each Professor in order that students and potential students can see how liberal a University/College/Class is going to be before signing up. For me, I would have avoided any class taught by any one of these 3 Stooges if I could. Obviously, you'd never get an unbiased education from them.

Very good and precise article. Turley was the lone voice and a true scholar the others were just poison tongued, irrational hacks that shouldn't be called scholars. There were no scholarly words that came from those three buffoons.

My observation was that Karlan's comment about Barron was not a spontaneous comment but one planned and rehearsed. I believe the question that was asked of her to compare royalty with Presidency was expected. It is easy to say things spontaneously that are upon reflection poor taste especially from people containing so much hate but to have planned such a statement just shows how weak minded she really is.

Everyone has a purpose, even if it only to serve as a bad example ! This babe, who describes herself as " a Jewish, bi-sexual " law professor sure fits the bill, as does the two a**hats seated on either side of this disgusting woman !

Look at Karlan's rant against white men, delivered years ago but making the rounds now. This is the face of the modern university and it's disgusting.

Karlan, Feldman, and Gerhardt wanted us to believe they were Constitutional scholars, but they only showed irrational, frothing at the mouth, hatred of President Trump. They made many dam*ing accusations against President Trump, substantiated none of them. The attack on President Trump's teenage son was deplorable.

You would have thought those 3 would have thought about how best to deliver their support for impeachment, but they didn't, or couldn't, and their hateful thoughts are what came out. They couldn't have done a worse job for the democrats. I'm sure Nadler took them to task for their poor performance! Just kidding.

It is ever so much worse than stated in this article. Google "long march through the institutions." Then read the articles it lists, beginning with the wiki article for background. None of it is random, and none of it is accidental.
The academy is lost. Private universities with endowments in the tens of billions of dollars turn out American students with degrees in gender studies, and public universities are filled with foreign engineering students rather than students from the states that fund them. When professors participated in mob actions on campuses and still kept their positions everyone should have heard the alarm bells.

IMO, those 3 witnesses were not constitutional scholars, but merely political lawyers, filling students with mush. The kind that go on CNN or MSNBC. What a joke.

Tenure in college and universities needs to go-- banned, ended and outlawed, in this country. Reform begins by ending this abomination. Only then all views be allowed in the University environment not just he left protected by tenure.
