Today’s university students want to “wake” the nation to problems that they and their professors have identified as threatening our very existence. And they issue these periodic alarms in hyperbolic terms: we have just 10, 20—fill in the blanks—years to end fossil fuel use or else die from global warming.
They warn us that there is a veritable war waged on American women who have been limited to a mere 800,000 abortions on average per year. Sexism must explain why only 56 percent of college students are women.
The woke university lectures us that ubiquitous racism, white privilege, sexism, homophobia, transgender hatred, Islamophobia, nativism, and xenophobia

Only students and the Very Educated actually believe they can 'FIX' something as complicated as the International Trading System by hitting it with a stick.
Democrats are ignorant.

Not mentioned in the article but certainly part of the problem is the parents of these snowflakes. I can just imagine, back in 1971, telling my father that I was going to burn through thousands of dollars to go to art school and study comic books. Within minutes of that conversation, I would have been standing outside surrounded by all of my belongings after having been told to get out and get a job.
Why do parents put up with this idiocy? I thank God every day that my daughter opted out of college, got certified in cosmetology during high school, went to work full time as a hair stylist two days after graduation and has been out on her own and self-supporting for the last 12 years.

You can see the damage being done by parents in their daily interactions with their children. In many families the kids seem to control the house. My grandkids visited over the holiday and one five-year-old thought that he had the authority to take over the big screen TV and play his games on it. He threw a fit when he was overruled. I won't be seeing him again for a very long time but this is the sort of monster that bad parenting creates and poor education exacerbates.

No truer words have ever been written. Those who need to read them never will and in the unlikely event they did, they'd reject them outright without even grasping that in so doing they confirm at least a portion of that VDH said.
We have also crossed a line where the product of this is getting elected to high office by others in the trap.
Somehow we need to convince young people that hey have been conned.

Talk about a must read. It is amazing VDH is still in the academic world. This is what happens when socialists, communists, the LEFT take over anything. They destroy it. With such weak graduates unable to cope emotionally and unable to reason and assess situations and make good decisions from complex problems, the Chinese, the Iranians, the Russians, you name it, will eat our lunch over the next decades. This destructive indoctrination starts in day care and culminates in the university. Until we get back the educational system, we are doomed. Compounding this mess, the parents of these snowflakes were introduced to and had begun to be indoctrinated in their education with this rot gut. So of course they fall right into line, financing this destructive so-called educational system. Not sure how we get this back, other than a wholesale peaceful revolution of parents and administrators rising up to change this indoctrination system.

VDH knows that college degrees have little basis in merit or achievement, certainly in the arts and letters departments. The most popular major is PSYCHOLOGY!! Has been for years. Back when, I was told that the #1 reason for taking that major was the hope of discovering what was wrong with yourself. (Over the years I have found that to be true.) Higher education is a "Big Education" racket fed by big bux borrowed and subsidized.
College degrees today are a "necessary" ticket that is mostly meaningless. Employers know that. A giant proportion of these students cannot read or write as befits their credentials, many coming out of remedial programs that remediated nothing. There is a surplus of unskilled graduates in the job market some claim are underemployed. What enables this is our general prosperity and the emergence of recent generations from prosperity into greater prosperity. It's all so easy...follow your passions, travel the world, get six-figures, find a likeminded partner and live a wonderful life...YOLO! Hey, waiter!!

It is just this simple: a key institution within our society has been turned into ordure. Parents and students are being duped. They are being sold a debased product at a grotesquely inflated price. The traditionalists who challenge this ridiculous status quo are not exaggerating. In many cases the situation is far worse than they imagine. Under its many current dispensations the situation will only get worse. The only solution is for the consumers to rise up and demand better. That means parents and students.

I saw this happening when I was in Jr High. Living in one of the most liberal areas, my Jr High was teaching anti-war, ecology classes ( early global warming hysteria), and zero population. It was the first year they started those classes in the district. Taught by hippie types. Then when my kids were in school, SPLC interjected themselves in all kinds of evil ways in heath classes and under the guise of "anti bullying" with a full gay agenda, and teachers were Bush bashing all the time. My son came home one day and explained to me what "Cis" was.
I had never heard that term before. That was about 7 years ago now. We have to take back the schools. It is the future of our country. It is never too late.

Colleges is where Marxists transform American minds. They are tireless in their fight against Western Civilization. Basically, it is a battle against Christianity.

These snowflakes, indoctrinated by radicals, now with thousands in debt and disappointed that their social justice degrees aren't getting them anywhere, will be ripe for the picking for a charismatic person who promises to pay off their debt using money from those who are successful. Thank goodness Bernie and Warren aren't very charismatic, but who knows who's coming up through the ranks (e.g. AOC) who is?

Before we lost our schools, we lost our homes. Wives and mothers were the first targets of the communists because they understood the power held in the hand that rocks the cradle and runs the home. Womanhood itself was attacked as not being masculine enough.
Books like Betty Friedan's "The Feminine Mystique" stoked the fires of female resentments by focusing on supposed societal male privileges denied to women. The Marxist worldview demanded distorted and simple caricatures; men were pigs that oppressed women. Homemaker became Housewife. Every afternoon Phil Donahue and Oprah pushed the message that true happiness could only be found in a fulfilling career outside the stifling confines of the house. Motherhood was defined down to simply nanny duties that could be easily taken over by the local day care center and paid from all the extra money flowing into the household. Inconvenient pregnancies were erased. We all know the societal toll we have suffered because women were driven from their God-given pivotal role in life and society. With the aid of no-fault divorce and such sage advice comparing the relationship between men and women equal to a bicycle and a fish, marriages disintegrated and families became a confabulation of steps and halfs.
The sad irony is that women can have it all, but sequentially not simultaneously. Phyllis Schafly role modeled this very life. Her young womanhood was dedicated to her husband, children and providing a loving home in which they could thrive. When her children were grown she pursued her interests in the law and had an outstanding and inspiring public career. She had it all without sacrificing her family and home.
When women abandoned the home and their children the communist schools happily took over the moral and practical education of generations. To reclaim our schools, we must first reclaim our homes. To reclaim our homes, women must first reclaim their rightful turf - their families.

My son received a transfer degree from our local community college that guarantees him admission to a state college or university. He decided to go to the university, which is closest to our home, and somewhat affordable with in-state-tuition and a partial scholarship.
This school is considered "elite" in some circles. I'm glad he's going to get his degree from there because it will look good on his resume. However, along with the so-called elite status comes a lot of nonsense. Everything is seen through the prism of diversity and social justice. The funny thing is that while the university and its professors can't talk about the underprivileged enough, they run the school as if it were a giant slot machine. You have to put money into it to get anything. They have fees for everything and fines for stupid things and all kinds of rules and regulations that make it impossible for a student to cut costs in any way. My son lives in the dorms and they treat the kids like they're living in a juvenile detention center. They have to scan a card to get into the building, and then again to get on the elevator. They aren't allowed to have a long list of things in their dorm rooms, and the rooms are searched on a regular basis. There are fines for this and fees for that, it never ends.
My son worked and saved and is paying all of his personal expenses at school. It kills him that everything on campus costs twice what it costs off campus. They know they have a captive audience and they milk it. It wouldn't be as galling if it weren't for all of their proselytizing about the underprivileged and how the rich don't pay enough and how everything should be free. What a bunch of hypocrites!
