Sometimes an Inkblot Is Just an Inkblot

In the classic Rorschach test, the psychoanalyst shows a patient a bunch of inkblots and asks what each looks like. The responses are supposed to help guide the psychoanalysis by offering insight into the patient’s idiosyncratic perspective. The test has its critics, and sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, but it can offer a fascinating insight into the human mind. If every inkblot is perceived by the patient as another implement or accessory used in baseball, we may very well be dealing with a baseball fan. (As for Hermann Rorschach himself, he spent so much of his boyhood in Switzerland making inkblots

The fourth paragraph, which begins "So you get this joker named Gordon Sondland...," is a breathtaking synopsis of history. Absolutely excellent article.

Sondland was conditioned by the Obama administration to conduct business as usual dictated by how the New York Times perceived the Obama desired directive. So when the New York Times perceives the desire of the Trump administration to find dirt on Biden that is what Sondland understands but when Sondland finally asks Trump directly what he is to do, Trump's orders were to do nothing nefarious and all Sondland hears is "quid pro quo" coming from the New York Times.

Sondland came across to me as kind of goofy. I expected some intellect.

There are writers and then there are writers. Dov nails the phone call story very skillfully. If Cuomo had pulled his little stunt and described it as an experiment he would not have come across as a total idiot. But no, he was SURE that you could overhear an entire conversation and he had the goods on the President. How long have cell phones been out now, a couple of decades? So Schiff's witness is a total liar and Schiff was more than happy to back him up.
I think Sondland arrived ready to lie and then had second thoughts under no-nonsense questioning. For icing on the cake we had 15 democrats celebrating their successful day at a DC bar after the Thursday circus act.

Guilt by innuendos, is Schiffs stock in trade. I presume that's the case here.

Too bad Fredo doesn't work for NBC. Before the cameras started rolling, he could have poured gas on his phone, secretly lit a match, called the White House switchboard, and shown his phone was on fire saying, "See!!! Donald Trump can cause cell phones to spontaneously combust!" Much more credible.

It is amazing, almost like being in the Twilight Zone, that democrats are allowed to abuse the system with these hearings, on the march for crimes that don't exist, subjective infractions at best. It's a travesty, a disgrace. Someone should ask, if President Trump didn't commit any crimes, why are we having to defend him?! In ordinary US trials, doesn't the DA have to present KNOWN crimes, in writing, BEFORE trial begins and sustain it with evidence, not make up charges as the proceedings continue? Schiff should be wearing a black uniform with red trim, considering how fascist he is. He looked like a zombie, practically nonhuman, whenever Mr Ratcliffe or Mr Nunes spoke.

We've ALL been around hundreds of people yakking on cellphones with the speaker off. Has ANYONE ever heard the other side of the conversation with the speaker off? This just shows that Fredo truly IS an idiot that deserves any mocking he gets.

The good Rabbi is one of my favorite writers. Always worth the time to read.
What I find equally hilarious about the “overheard” phone call is that it took place in a crowded restaurant. Sometimes I can’t even hear the person across the table who is talking to me in person in a crowded restaurant.

We don't support Donald Trump blindly even if he were guilty of treason or bribery. We KNOW he has never committed those acts. This kind of mindless Kool Aid drinking goes on the other side.

Let’s face it, the Democrats are engaged in impeaching President Trump because of his personal and political “Style” as Trump has not violated any law, when he exercised his constitutional authority to use his presidential discretion to ensure that suspected past institutional and politically related corruption on an international scale, that may have involved US foreign aid monies, is properly investigated.
If presidential “style” was the impeachment standard back during the President Lyndon Johnson era, Johnson could have been impeached hundreds of times. One example, the Republicans knew that Johnson used to step out of the Oval Office to urinate in the White House Rose Garden, now that’s an act of presidential “style”. At the time the Republicans knew about Johnson’s many failings relating to his personal and political “style”, and either laughed or ignored at those facets of Johnson’s failings when it came to “style” and never talked impeaching Johnson. Today’s Democrats are doing just the reverse nitpicking every aspect of Trump using his presidential discretion. That shows three things, Adam Schiff and the Democrats have no sense of humor, are all political, and that the Congressional Democrats are very happy to defend institutionalized political corruption when Democrat politicians are suspected to be involved.

The democrats are in a panic because they know what is going to happen during the next five years- not just to themselves, personally, but to the swamp and their deranged party!
MAGA!
