While the fake news media are trying to convince you that Trump investigating the obvious and blatant corruption of the Biden family in Ukraine is a crime, one of their witnesses declared that Obama danced to Putin's tune.Fiona Hill testified that Obama refused to give military aid to Ukraine despite the fact that the "interagency" — the unelected wonks like Vindman who think they not Trump should run foreign policy — said that the U.S. should provide weapons to Ukraine to defend themselves against the Russian invasion.Hill testified that Obama refused to provide lethal aid to Ukraine so as to not upset Putin.

So if Obama were still President would Ukraine now be totally taken over by Russia?
It seems that President Trump helped to save the Ukraine.

Most so-called "experts" in what are Complex Adaptive Systems, like international relations, are so blinded by their entrained group-think that they are at best marginally useful and at worst counterproductive. They fail to differentiate what is complex from what is merely complicated. They think the way things "ought to be" instead of the way they really are. Saint Fiona is no exception, no matter what the enemedia tries to tell us in their pontifications about her vast intellect, connections with other deep-staters and deep, deep "patriotism". Like Vindman, she is an empty suit when it comes to really doing her job.

Actually I've gotten over my shock and am able to find these hearings humorous. Diplomats are trained to be vague, ambiguous, circular-speakers who like to operate in a gray zone where their words can literally mean whatever someone thinks they mean. So in these hearings, we have diplomats being grilled by politicians, who are trained to speak out of both sides of their mouths, cherry pick facts to fit their agenda, and rarely if ever tell the whole truth.
This whole thing reminds me of a dogs who chase their tail. Dogs who do that are usually infested with intestinal parasites like tape worms which migrate out their rectums.
I don't know why, but this seems to explain a lot.

If nothing else happens during the circus, this congressional lynch mob will prove Trump's point. Democrats have zero evidence, and their party is full of corruption. Now would be a great time to release your evidence you keep claiming to have Schiffty. But the public knows you have nada.

For the last 20 years, the track record of the State Department "professionals" has been lackluster at best and terrible at worst. The testimony of all of these "experts" has been that they assumed President Trump wanted a "quid pro quo" even in one case where President Trump emphatically told him the exact opposite! It is no wonder that President Trump went around these people who were hostile to him because "they knew best."
President Trump needs to clean house, big time, at the State Department.

#'s 6 & 7 Well said!
My takeaway from the hearings is how massive the "Deep State" exists. "Circular" or apparatchik speak is the lexicon of thousands of these public servants and when I hear about meetings after meetings, (fine hotels, first class flights, wine at lunch) in Ukraine and Warsaw and Brussels and Moscow, it's unfathomable the cost of this bureaucracy and the reasons that the entrenced are fighting to keep it. What a great job travel the world and attend meetings to just take notes!
Trump is the only one who can start to disassemble it and these hearings were a public look at what draining the swamp looks like.

Just how many "work" at the NSC? Hundreds of experts for each country in the world? We have so-called experts st State Dept. At the Pentagon. CIA. And I'm sure a few other agencies I don't know about. All providing "expert" advise to the President, supposedly through his National Security Advisor. Can we not eliminate half of these people and still get "good" advice? We won World War II without an NSC, etc. What the heck happened?

Next, democrats will accuse President Trump of demanding a quid pro quo from China, in order to get a trade deal. You know, things like: China must stop stealing our intellectual property, etc. Also fat Kim in N. Korea, who must do certain things...

Here’s another item to add to the list....
Hill testified that the Russians wanted to sow chaos and division in our country. That is exactly what 0bama did and I have no doubt that he did it, at least partially, in appeasement of the Russian communists.

"What Republicans are doing is using the impeachment farce to shine a light on the many failings of the Democrats that the fake news media will never cover"
Yes, in a forum that is being publically broadcast and cannot be blocked by the propaganda media. Unfortunately, few people are actually watching but it gives a great public reference for later use to counter dem statements.
The biggest difference for Trump's foreign policy dealings is that Trump, mostly, deals with what other countries actually DO, not what the policy wonks' script books call for. If other countries act favorably to America, Trump works with them. If not, Trump squashes them. I don't think that Trump is "against" Putin. Trump's actions have given Putin some dope slaps and reminded him what the US is capable of both militarily AND economically. He got a corrective "reset". Frankly, Putin, for all his games and nastiness, is not that big of a real threat in either an economic or military sense. Trump stung Putin enough to remind him of that and the cost of bad behavior. Trump's philosophy seems to be, "Act as you will in your own country but if it starts to affect the US, be ready for the repercussions.". Putin can act up in his own sandbox but outside it, he risks a lot. He now knows that.
This behavior based response is outside the carefully structured world of the state department because they lack the ability to respond as the president can. They have no understanding of it and therefore no plan for it. In the bureaucracy, when you don't understand something and can't control it, you fear it. It is also raising questions about the NEED for a bloated State Department and it's moribund thinking. Instead of spending all your time crafting relationships that are unresponsive to behaviors, all you need to do is respond to behaviors. You also need to make your overall intentions clear; something like "America First" or some such, to inform other countries what matters. Trump and his team have spent 3 years educating the world as to what that means. Most of them "get it". There are, unfortunately, some slow learners. When China finally wakes up, the game is over. Iran and NK will get in line or become roadkill. I think at that point, there will be a resolution of the Israel/Palestine issue as the bad actors there will be brought to heal by being deprived of funding and support. We will see. If all this happens, Trump will be, by a YUGE margin, the most successful President in foreign policy, EVER. Lots to be done but the path has been laid out.

The bottom line is that presidents, not bureaucrats, are elected to make foreign policy decisions. President Trump was elected to change the foreign policies favored by Obama. His only error appears to be in placing or retaining Obama-era appointees within his administration, including his White House and within the military.
