House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) was busy leading the witness, former Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, when she spoke the precise words he was trying to elicit: “Very intimidating.”
Upon hearing that emotional reaction to a presidential tweet, one might wonder just how much the State Department standard for what counts as “intimidating” and “not intimidating” has changed over the decades.
In 1961, Adlai Stevenson, a twice-failed Democrat presidential candidate thought of as a kind of high-minded milquetoast, had been shuttled out of Washington into the relative obscurity of ambassador to the United Nations.
But in October 1962 when the chips were down—all the way down—

Re Trump's tweet: it contained nothing but the truth, a clear eyed, provable assessment of Ambassador Marie's diplomatic career, and a statement of the President's rights.

As I said yesterday, I watched her testimony and what came to mind was she was trying to be Christine Blasey Ford. She had the tiny voice down pat. She sat there, prim and proper and answered questions with a "oh poor me" attitude. I did not find her believable. She wanted us to believe she was a 33 year Diplomat who handled foreign countries with no nonsense and firm rules. On the other hand she would have us believe she was devastated by things Trump said about her. Words hurt her FEELINGS! Boo Hoo! She should be out of a job, instead she is teaching 14 kids a few hours, a couple days a week and her Salary hasn't changed from when she was an Ambassador! Sweet Deal! Only in Washington!

Embarrassingly delicate and played the victim exceedingly well. As ineffectual as her entire performance I feel certain Libs were applauding.

FTA: “ In one response, Madam Ambassador seems to be cowed by a single, “very intimidating” . . . tweet. Yet in another response, she put forth a wildly self-aggrandizing comparison of her service with the men who died in Benghazi on September 11, 2012.”
I have experienced people with this type of mental illness, where they can’t in fact accomplish the tasks of life but believe that they are superior to all in so many ways.
These episodes- mullet, schiff-pants, brennan, comette, all these bureaucrats- the whole panoply of those woodpeckers called out from their cabinets to array against Trump- has showed thaty it’s a miracle the US is doing well.
Trump has a lot of (no) merit based firing to do.

Yovanovitch stated that she was defamed. But, no one ever has stated what was said and if it was true or not.

She fully reflects the culture of the pantywaist pajama boy snowflake regime which appointed her.

Marie Yovanovitch set feminists back 50 years with her emotional response to a fact of life: The President can recall an ambassador any time he deems appropriate. When the President and Minister of a foreign are unhappy, and even angry, with our ambassador, it is very wise to remove that ambassador. Not to mention the ambassador's additional abuse of the sitting President of the U.S. by slandering him to the Ukrainians, and other U.S. persons!
She can whine, cry and otherwise play the part of an abused woman, but that is not the behavior of a strong woman, especially one who wants to be an ambassador!

I lived through all that was stated in the article and it's very true. This charade by Schiff and the fired ambassador is meant for tender eared millennials and pink pussy hat wearers. Adults see an act and fakery when it's presented.

What really bothers me about all of this is women have fought hard to be treated equally and this woman is a professional, and yet Schiff (and the Democrats) are treating her like a poor little thing ("how did that make you feel?" in an obvious attempt to conjure up tears) and she went along with it with her tiny, tearful little voice, Unfortunately, (I have also seen some John Solomon reports, and he is totally trustworthy that she DID have a list she gave to the Ukrainians as to who NOT to look into.)

This lady is the “tough” US Ambassador who former President Obama sent to Ukraine to represent the USA and to face down the Russians and Vladimir Putin who were engaging in military action in Eastern Ukraine in regions adjacent to the Russian border.
During the Democrat impeachment inquisition at the time this lady was testifying, President Trump deployed a “Tweet” that mentioned this lady and facets of her job performance that led him to loose confidence in her ability to carry out his foreign policy regarding Ukraine and have her recalled to the State Department and replacing her in Ukraine by a new Ambassador of his choosing.
While the lady was testifying Adam Schiff became aware of and read the President’s “Tweet” that had just been sent and asked the lady for her response. The lady then replied that she was “very intimidated” by the President’s “Tweet” and Schiff then essentially announced that by deploying his “Tweet” that President Trump had intended to intimidate her and he took that very seriously. But when Schiff became aware of the President’s “Tweet” the lady had already been testifying, and would never even been aware of the contents of the President’s “Tweet” until Schiff read it to her as she was sitting at the witness table!

Obama destroyed my respect for his ambassadors when he appointed a gay man to Spain, a Catholic Country. This guy and his male wife made a mockery of the U.S. diplomatic corp.

Yovanovitch seemed more like material for a local school board or city council. Anyone who cries in a deposition is not ambassador material, especially to a country that is apparently as troubled and messy as Ukraine. That said, I cannot believe that Ukraine-lover Bill Taylor is any better. He could use George Schultz’s test for ambassadors, especially new ones, which I will paraphrase. Schultz would have them go to the big globe in his office and spin it; then put their hand on their country. Invariably their hand would go on the country where they were posted. He admonished them: “Your country is the United States of America”...

It is certainly possible that Yovanovitch is as tough as nails, but she got the idea that that would not show well in these hearings so she went the Blowsey-Ford “where’s the fainting couch?” route and it backfired...

She's not much of an Ambassador if she feels intimidated about what she knew all along was a President's prerogative of removing any ambassador for any reason.
