Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch is appearing before Congress on Friday to cap off the first week of public hearings in the impeachment inquiry into President Trump. It follows the testimony earlier this week from U.S. chargé d'affaires in Ukraine Bill Taylor and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe George Kent.
Democrats have been moving quickly with their impeachment probe. Sparked by a whistleblower complaint, the investigation has centered on whether the president improperly used his office to pressure Ukranian President Voldomyr Zelensky into ordering investigations -- including into the family of 2020 contender Joe Biden -- that could have been politically beneficial to his reelection campaign

In the hearing, the council for the majority (democrats) is putting a lot of words in the mouth of Yovanovitch, which in a court of law would be called ''leading the witness.''
Kangaroo court, indeed!

Actions have consequences. Apparently Dear Marie thought no one would care when she trashed the boss (Trump) and told a foreign government to ignore him because he was going to be impeached. Someone did and it got back to the boss. Sucks to be her.

Let me guess, Marie Yovanovitch is Weird Al's little sister? This whole melodrama is just as contrived and nearly as stupid.

So far, this hearing has NOTHING to do with impeaching the President. It's a HR dispute. She was recalled and doesn't like it. So, she is smearing the President and his people and the Democrat Attorney is doing a good job if leading her. Should be interesting how the Republicans handle her. If they make her cry, Schiff will probably call for a recess so she can pull herself together! When the day is over, I would expect this Hearing will still have NOTHING to do with impeaching the President. It's more about smearing the President!

I watched the first part of her testimony. She is a well spoken career diplomat who was born in Canada to parents who were originally from the Soviet Union or thereabouts. She moved to the USA with her parents at a young age, became a naturalized US citizen and has apparently been employed at the State Department for 38 years. She was appointed as Ambassador to Ukraine by former President Obama. That said.
From what I heard she really had her feelings hurt when President Trump ordered that she be recalled from that Ambassadorial position in Ukraine. You have to remember as you listen to all the partisan political flack that the Democrats are throwing up, is that all US Ambassadors, both career diplomats and political appointees, serve at the pleasure of the elected US President. In that respect, the Congressional Democrats clearly don’t like it because she is a US Ambassador appointed by Obama who was recalled by President Trump, because he lost confidence in her ability to carry out his foreign policy, and because the current government of Ukraine wanted to start fresh with a new US Ambassador, or for no expressed reason. The ultimate call to recall or remove any US Ambassador is the elected President’s call, even when it ruffles the feathers of the Congressional Democrats or the career State Department bureaucratic establishment. In this case it appears that not only did the US President make the call to remove the lady as Ambassador but the current President of Ukraine also wanted her replaced with a new US Ambassador.
The fact that the President sent his personal emissary, Rudy Guiliani, to Ukraine to encourage the current government of Ukraine to Investigate past corruption emitting from Ukraine, that was designed to adversely impact on the Trump campaign during the US 2016 election and to cooperate with the US Attorney General in his investigations are not violations of US law. Since the beginning of US history Presidents of both political parties have used personal emissaries to travel to foreign countries to deal with foreign governments and entities involving delicate affairs. The Congressional Democrats don’t like President Trump doing that because it appears that some of the participants involved in corrupt activities and political dirty tricks in Ukraine are Democrat politicians, members of their families, along with Democrat political operatives, all opponents of Trump.
Under the US Constitution the elected President has the authority to strategically decide what US foreign policy will be towards all foreign countries. Right now the Congressional Democrats are getting deep in the weeds of interfering in the elected President’s ability to conduct US foreign policy as he sees fit. Setting such a precedent for partisan political reasons cannot be good for future Presidents of either political party to maintain the ability to conduct the foreign policies that he or she was elected by the American people to carry out. That cannot be good for America.

Not exactly, #2. There are career State Dept. employees who become ambassadors and then there are ambassadors, who are appointed by the president, who may have never done anything previously in the diplomatic service. The most desired posts - London, Paris, etc are usually appointed by the president. The career diplomats may have to be approved by the president but they are appointed by the State Dept. Taylor is a career guy, fully indoctrinated by the left wing culture that rules the State Dept with an iron fist.

Canadian born Marie Yovanovitch appears to be a partisan, career Washington DC bureaucrat, that had no first hand knowledge of Presidents phonemail with the Ukranian president. She admits that she has no knowledge of President Trump being involved in any criminal activity or of the President accepting bribes. She is just on of several tools being deployed by the Democrats in their attempt to overturn the results of the 2016 election. Wake the hell up America and see this impeachment scam for what it is!

I had been watching the hearings on Fox News non-stop. Yesterday I was mesmerized by the way Republicans dominated the hearing with their brilliant strategies in questioning Taylor and Kent. Today I watched as long as I could and turned the TV off in total disgust, as Republicans appeared to make a complete 180 degrees turn in their handling of Marie Yovanovitch. Instead of asking meaningful questions, I mostly heard them gushing and fawning in thanking her for her "honorable service to our country", and implying criticism of mean ol' Pres. Trump for forcing her out after a "brilliant, unblemished 33 yr. public service career". WTH??? If this continues, we can fully expect an impeachment trial and a Democrat landslide in 2020.

Is she married? Children?
The reason I ask is that she has had a lot of globe hopping assignments, but curiously, I can't find out if she is married.

Perhaps the problem is "33 years" At some point long term employees think they own the place.
From what I heard she seemed arrogant.
