Speaking on wealth creation, President John F. Kennedy famously noted that “a rising tide lifts all boats.” This assertion reveals a fundamental truth behind the power of the free market: when wealth is created in a true capitalist system, it inevitably spreads to all levels of society.
The veracity of this is proven in The Capitalist Manifesto -- a simple text from influential supply-siders Ralph Benko and William Collier -- published earlier this week. The text expertly defines how “True Capitalism” stands in direct opposition to its enemy from the left -- socialism -- and its enemy from within -- crony capitalism. The authors contrast “True Capitalism” to the “New Feudalism”

I just stumbled upon an article titled "The Secret of Socialism" I saved from the American Thinker 3 August 2011 by Stu Tarlowe, here is a highlight:
"I am about to share with you a secret known to few: Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Mao, Deng, Pol Pot, Castro, and Solzhenitsyn himself. And me. And now you.
Socialism does not exist except in the imagination of the true believer and the useful idiot. None of the names I listed believed there was such a thing as socialism. They knew it for what it was: a means of fooling mass numbers of people into following them, and thus achieving power. Political power. Military power. Economic power. Absolute power."
Back to Clingers' words:
Socialism is institutionalized theft. Socialism is feudalism's answer to the industrial revolution. Collective or government ownership of the means of production but was there a single factory in the Soviet Union run by the workers? They were run by the central planning government bureaucracy.
What is ownership? What we see as ownership in a capitalistic sense is in essence control. I "own" a few antiques but as I have expressed to others I purchased them for the privilege of acting as custodian so that they can be preserved and passed on the the next generations. I control by virtue of ownership, ownership is the means of reserving the right to control, the real value, end game is control not ownership. Same with humans. If I control your every move are you not a slave? Do I need the word ownership to establish slavery? I think not.
Socialists control everything under the pretense that "the people" own. It's a scam perpetrated by the same people who once ruled over us from the safety of their castle walls.

Socialism equals "gimme dat", everyone gets a trophy, can't we all just get along, we are all the same, only one point of view, disgust for God, everyone has to have an equal chance, you didn't build that, and take from the rich and give to the poor.
Capitalism equals, "you must earn it", trophies awarded to the top performers only, have self-respect and show respect to others, show tolerance to others and their opinions, you built that, teach others to be successful, and lead by example.
Like trying to mix oil and water, no?

Our government likes to spend 4 trillion dollars a year. How are they going to pay for everything? Best answer currently is capitalism. The answer is definitely not Socialism or Communism. When have they ever paid their bills?

Let's not overlook that "Cronyism"...there is no unvarnished capitalism in the USA or anywhere there is government market overregulation. McDonald's feels threatened by the kid selling lemonade and the local officials slam the kids with health violations. business permits and tax collection issues.
You want to see real capitalism, for to "communist" Vietnam, where every streetcorner has plain folks with a burner and a pot selling pho soup. Red China is much more "capitalist" than the USA at the street level, having thousands of years of mercantile experience. Go see for yourself. USA commerce today is little more than web of contra-market regulations.

'Crony capitalism' is a misnomer. The correct term is crony socialism, or just plain socialism. Capitalism can exist without government. Crony socialism depends on government.

Rising water lifts all boats, large and small by exactly the same level. Capitalism, unfortunately for some, will raise your boat only to the level driven by your effort, commitment and resourcefulness. All three are anathema to socialists.

Socialism is a form of social justice. The core is Obama's statement - you did not build this company by yourself. You needed the roads, the utilities, the internet, etc to do it - the banking system. But eventually, socialism collapses on its own weight. It takes from the producers and gives to the non producers. It discourages the risk takers and rewards those who don't want to take risk. It takes time to see the collapse. Meanwhile, the power grabbers steal from the system and build fortunes they did not build (Hillary and Bill are examples).
If capitalism is so bad, and the leftists want to destroy it - what is the alternative that is going to replace it - Venezuela?

When the Pilgrims landed in America they created a democratic government under the Mayflower Compact where everybody had a say in all decisions made by the colony. They decided the colony was to produce and share everything communally. Because, there were many slackers in the colony, production was low and they nearly starved to death. Realizing their mistake they assigned each family their own plot and allowed to keep what they produced or use it to barter for other items. Under the new system of free enterprise, the colony prospered. Since, the colony was too small to form economic units above the Mom and Pop level, it was pre-Capitalism.
Both Socialism and Capitalism have the problem that control is in the hands of a few people. Along as you can maintain an open or free market, Capitalism offers both multiple choices and competition. Socialism offers neither multiple choices nor competition. As a result, it is sluggish and inefficient.
