With Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., set to move his partisan impeachment inquisition from the basement of the U.S. Capitol into the light of day, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee is determined to maintain tight-fisted control over the public proceedings.In going public with the “impeachment sham,” as Republicans refer to the effort to take out President Donald Trump, Schiff issued a list of guidelines that will be used to maintain a tight grip on proceedings and attempt to limit who Republicans can call to testify.(For what it’s worth, Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., has said

Democrats, through Schiff, continue to show their true colors. Tyranny has hooves, long ears and brays constantly.

Why hasn’t a lawsuit been filed to stop this travesty? Could it not be filed because the process laid out by Schiff goes against every due process protection that the Constitution affords us? Lawsuits are filed immediately whenever the President issues an executive order or tries to do his constitutionally mandated duty as POTUS. Why are the Courts allowed to check his power then but they are evidently not allowed to check the power of Congress when it makes rules that deny the President the due process every other American is entitled to under the law? Clearly, by the silence of our grand legal minds and scholars it appears that they are okay with this inherent breach of fairness that our legal system purports to protect. Obviously, I am no legal expert but I find this blatant disregard of such a basic right so egregious that it would move those men and women who honor our Constitution and rule of law to rouse themselves to defend these basic principles even if they do not support this President. It seems to me that this particular process is in direct opposition to everything we hold dear as Americans such as the right to face our accuser, the right of a fair trial and everything that goes with it. Why is the President exempt from those basic rights? If this process is flawed and we know it is, why aren’t our best legal minds demanding better? Surely, they do not wish to see a President railroaded out of office by a process that is anathema to them? Does the House of Representatives have the power to ignore the law and precedent to get rid of a President simply because they do not like him? The silence of the legal community regarding this absolute travesty of justice is a clear indicator that they will look the other way when the Constitution is being perverted for purely partisan political reasons when it suits them. Does the Constitution stop at the door of the House of Representatives when democrats are in control?

Unfortunately there is not a lot the Republicans can do. This is not a trial or a courtroom and due process does not apply unless the majority say it does. This is a political process. Pelosi’s mistake was to put this repugnant corrupt liar in charge of it. His unethical little games are not going unnoticed by the public. At the end of this Trump will not be removed, he will be re-elected and the IG and Durham reports will come out. Patience.

What is good for the goose is good for the gander. If Shiff won’t allow a witness to testify ,have Barr call on the witness in his investigation.

The demonrats in congress can operate this procedure however they want and there’s nothing that can be done about it. That’s why last year’s election was such a terrible blow to those of us on the right. The only way that they will be stopped is when they finally realize that they are committing suicide and we may have to wait a year for that to become apparent.
This is not really about impeaching and then convicting Trump as they know that is never going to happen. The senate will never convict. They are trying to damage PDT to the point that he loses voters and support. It’s really all about RB Ginsburg’s replacement on the Supreme Court. If they impeach Trump then they will try to claim that an impeached president has no right to fill a SCOTUS vacancy. Which is BS, but they’ll try. Not to mention that, if reelected, Trump may get to add yet another conservative to the court in his next term. Bottom line - it’s all about killing babies.

This is SCIF Schiff's last show in life. He has to make it memorable because they will be sweeping the stage soon. Hannity says there will be another when this one falls apart but who will ever take him seriously again? Who takes him seriously now?

FTA:
The Democratic lawmaker leading his party’s efforts to impeach Trump reserves the right to reject any witness, the matter would go to the full committee – which means nothing, given that Democrats control the panel.
(snip)
Setting aside the absurdity of these restrictions—note that the Democrats won’t even be able to stay within their own parameters. The first two witnesses they’re calling have never even talked to POTUS. They have zero firsthand knowledge. How can they speak to his motive?” Meadows tweeted.
The rule seems designed to prevent alternative reasons for President Trump's actions from being presented. The fact that he did not want to throw good money after bad to corrupt Ukraine politicians is a valid concern. Did Ukraine meddle in the 2016 election is a valid concern. Did Biden blackmail the Ukrainians into firing the prosecutor investigating corruption is a valid concern. All these are valid concerns of a good President doing his job.
If being a potential candidate for President puts Biden off limits from a corruption investigation, then this whole investigation of President Trump should be off limits for the very same reason.

The best way to stop this is to mount an aggressive campaign, flooded with millions of $$$$$ in his district. So he has to schiff from the Impeachment to protecting his career as an idiot. If he thinks this is going to cost him his job, he will change tactics. Bet on it.

How the heck can the dictate the questions the defense can ask?? Is this Stalin's USSR?? Talk about LEADING questions...."Mr. President, are you still beating your wife? Yes or no? Answer the question. "
This is NOT a farce...it is a serious injustice and outright abuse of power for the political gain by the Democratic party. This is 1000 times worse than what they are accusing the President of doing!

My recommendation to the Republican in the House of Representatives,
1. Send a letter to Pelosi signed by all the Republicans repudiating the Democrat farce.
2. Do not call witnesses
3. Do not even attend these so call hearing.
4. Do not attend the session where the final vote is take for impeachment much less vote.
Inform the President that you refuse to be part of this charade and will not lend credance
to it.

Agree with #12, that Ginsberg is going to have to step down from The Court, and the dems can not accept another Trump appointment.
#14 makes an interesting point, that if Candidate Biden is off limits for an investigation, so is Candidate Trump 2020.
Timing, as is said, is everything:
*the Russia collusion investigation took three years, and although it's believed that Mueller was ready to present his report prior to the 2018 elections, the dems needed to have the proverbial corruption cloud over the Republicans' heads so the delay mechanism was put into motion, so the report was delayed;
*the dems needed to regain the House in 2018, NO MATTER WHAT, in order to undo 2016, delegitimize every President Trump has accomplished, and set themselves up to harass and stymie and neutralize President Trump for the next year in order to take Congress and the Presidency in 2020.
BO began the "fundamental transformation" to socialism, Hillary was supposed to take up the mantle.
Republican gargantuan and world historical task is to save the Republic, if indeed they are able and willing to do it. By now they should have been disabused of the thought that such an overthrow of our country from within is not possible, the old "it can't happen here" fallacy.
Here's what Repubs should do:
Launch a massive publicity campaign exposing the dems for their unjust procedures;
We still proclaim the standard of presumption of innocence, jurisprudence;
by restricting the witnesses Repubs have named, it's like a prosecutor not allowing a defense team from presenting their side of a case, refusing to allow into trial proceedings what the defense believes is exculpatory evidence.
These things are fundamental to our justice system.
Then, remind the people that people like Schiff are writing the Laws by which we must all live... Do they really want people writing legislation who have such little regard for individual liberty, the presumption of innocence and the right to vigorous self defense?
Some Republicans dislike our President and secretly or not so secretly wish he'd go away; however they'd be stupid and selfish to bite the nose off their face. Sadly, it wouldn't be the first time.
God help us.

Who is the Schiff creep trying to emulate? Lev Davidowich Bronshtein??? AKA Trotzky??? It absolutely frightens me how he gets away with his peculiar methods of a secret impeachment 'trial'??? No witnesses, no one needs to know anything, 'we found the president guilty of something that some lefty indoctrinated pencil pusher felt was not to his liking. Therefore we consider him guilty as charged and our verdict is 'removal from office'!!! What the heck is this?? Former Soviet Union or the United States of America.????? Since Schiff is frequently on Russian TV send him back where his people came from!!!

Thanks go to Paul Ryan and his lame brain Speakership in 2016-17 for this farce and waste of time and money. If the House under the Wisconsin Beak had done what Republicans had been promising, Pelosi and company would still be out in the cold.
