The Post-Christian Pope and the Pacha Idols

I have lost track of the number of times Pope Francis has given the finger to orthodox Catholics — from telling the parents of large families that they needn’t behave like “rabbits” to mocking an altar boy for holding his hands together piously (He joked to the bewildered boy, “Are they stuck together?”) to calling priests who adhere to tradition “neurotics.” In Jorge Bergoglio, the world has witnessed its first post-Christian pope — a UN-style religious relativist who loves every religion except his own. The baldly heretical Pan-Amazon Synod — its chief organizers favor woman priests, the abolition of priestly celibacy, and LGBT rights, among other stances —

How could the Church have erred so badly when choosing the garbage who now heads it? Since the Church is so sick, how will it ever survive? And, When did it become a church of man and not a Church of God?

Dear Catholics: you are the Church. Do not let corrupt men take your faith from you. The Church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord! I say this as a Protestant on Reformation Sunday.

Now that the Pope has elevated over half of the current Cardinals, he has ensured that the next Pope will be more of the same. I don't know how we will recover. I continue to pray.

This pope is the reason that I’m sitting here typing this morning instead of attending mass. I am holding onto my faith alone until things change in the church.

Forgot to add. Not mentioned in the article is the fact that one of the groups funding this ridiculous synod is the Ford Foundation which has donated multi millions of dollars to Planned Parenthood.

President Trump’s announcement that our special forces have chased to doom the founder of the Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, is a reminder that few things so become a commander-in-chief as success in battle. It is a laurel that has obtained for our greatest presidents. It was nice to see Mr. Trump in a moment of success. It’s a much-needed reminder that things are going on in Mr. Trump’s presidency other than impeachment. The President was, by our lights, generous in his praise for all those who participated in the operation — particularly our GIs, of course, and their chain of command. Mr. Trump also singled out

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday demanded a briefing on the U.S. military strike that killed Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, a raid in which President Trump said Congress leaders were intentionally left out of the loop. “The House must be briefed on this raid, which the Russians but not top Congressional Leadership were notified of in advance, and on the Administration’s overall strategy in the region,” she said in a statement. “Our military and allies deserve strong, smart and strategic leadership from Washington.” In announcing the major takedown in the fight against the Islamic State or ISIS, Mr. Trump singled out Mrs. Pelosi when saying congressional leaders

The Ghost of Hillary Past is threatening to become the Ghost of Hillary Present for Democrats. Could the woman who lost to Donald Trump in 2016 run a third time for the presidency? A few weeks ago, everyone was convinced that Hillary Clinton was content to snipe at President Trump from the sidelines (he is all too eager to return the fire). But then Hillary appeared on PBS in early October to remark that maybe there should be a “rematch” between her and Trump. “Obviously, I can beat him again,” she said. Clinton’s throwaway line started a conversation among the many Democrats who are less than impressed with the current presidential field.

As Scott noted a little while ago, the Washington Post has made a fool of itself with its obituary for al-Baghdadi. The Post’s headline for its obituary–its second attempt, apparently–was “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, austere religious scholar at helm of Islamic State, dies at 48.” That prompted mockery across the internet: Adolf Hitler, Austrian vegan activist and landscape painter, dies at 56https://t.co/szPOVa5Sae — David Burge (@iowahawkblog) October 27, 2019 “John Wayne Gacy, children’s party clown, dead at age 52” https://t.co/W64p94Zixa — Allahpundit (@allahpundit) October 27, 2019

The Washington Post changed the headline on its obituary for ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi after initially calling him an “austere religious scholar at helm of Islamic State.” The Post changed its headline at least twice Sunday for the article, starting by describing al-Baghdadi as the “Islamic State’s terrorist-in-Chief.” The newspaper then adjusted the headline to call him an “austere religious scholar at helm of Islamic State,” sparking some backlash on social media. They had it right the first time.

Joe Biden is at it again — living in his own parallel universe. The same former vice president who says that his son, Hunter, was hired by the Ukrainian oil and gas company because of his expertise in energy policy is now claiming that President Trump has “squandered” the strong Obama economy he inherited. Here is how Mr. Biden put it in a speech last week in Scranton, Pennsylvania: “Donald Trump inherited a strong economy from Barack and me.” Then he added: “Things were beginning to really move. And just like everything else he’s inherited, he’s in the midst of squandering it.” What’s next?

James Clapper is never the smartest man in the room, even when he’s all alone, by himself, in solitary confinement, which he may very well soon be. But Thursday night, after the corrupt, lying former director of national intelligence got the word on live television that the feds have opened a criminal probe into the Russian collusion hoax, the co-conspirator suffered a meltdown for the ages. All dialogue guaranteed verbatim: “Well, I should … you know be very curious since presumably … I uh I guess uh I’m one of those under investigation and … I uh don’t know — ” The host cut in: “And you just heard about this?”

New York City generously shares its homeless crisis with every corner of America. From the tropical shores of Honolulu and Puerto Rico, to the badlands of Utah and backwaters of Louisiana, the Big Apple has sent local homeless families to 373 cities across the country with a full year of rent in their pockets as part of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s “Special One-Time Assistance Program.” Usually, the receiving city knows nothing about it. City taxpayers have spent $89 million on rent alone since the program’s August 2017 inception to export 5,074 homeless families — 12,482 individuals — to places as close as Newark and as far as the South Pacific,
California Is Burning and It's

Liberals are blaming California's wildfires on "climate change." Apparently, climate change now causes wildfires, but only in the state of California. Before this week, liberals thought rising sea levels would wash the state away. Now, they believe it will go up in flames unless we do something immediately to stop "climate change." But climate change hasn't turned California into a tinderbox, the environmentalists have. California power company PG&E is preparing to pull the plug on 850,000 of its customers. PG&E has been deliberately cutting power to its customers in an effort to avoid wildfires. It isn't working. Massive wildfires erupted in areas where PG&E provides service.

"The fact is there is no more money. Period," says Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot. She's talking about the teachers' strike that has paralyzed her city's public schools—enrollment 360,000—for the past week. The public employee union is demanding more: more money for salaries (only eight states pay teachers more than Illinois), more support staff (Illinois ranks first in spending on administrators), more teachers per student. Their cause has attracted national attention. Elizabeth Warren joined the picket line. Which is ironic. Lightfoot is not some stingy Republican.

The woman at the center of a Russian influence-peddling scheme has been deported, ICE announced Friday evening. Maria Butina was convicted last year of acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign government, as part of the FBI’s efforts to combat the Russian government’s meddling in the 2016 election. She was sentenced to 18 months, was released Friday, and deported back to Russia the same day, in a flight from Miami to Moscow, the agency said. Butina was accused of trying to infiltrate the National Rifle Association, the gun-rights organization that poured tens of millions of dollars into backing President Trump in the 2016 election.

Former national security adviser Susan Rice believes President Trump should have notified his predecessor about the U.S. raid that ended in the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Rice appeared on CBS's Face The Nation Sunday following Trump's press conference, during which he announced Baghdadi's death. During the presser, Trump confirmed that the now-former head of ISIS was killed after detonating a suicide vest while he was surrounded by three of his children in a cave. Rice began by praising the military action, calling it "a major milestone" and adding that "it's one that we should be welcoming quite plainly."

President Donald Trump attended Sunday’s Game 5 of the World Series at Nationals Park, but he wasn’t the recipient of a warm welcome. Not even close. Trump, who did not arrive in time for the national anthem or first pitch, was shown on the videoboard ahead of the fourth inning during a Salute to Veterans in-game segment. The crowd immediately responded by booing Trump loudly. After initially boing Trump, the crowd continued into a “lock him up” chant. Trump is the subject of an impeachment inquiry by the House of Representatives.

But with news breaking late Saturday night that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi met the same fate, the Sunday morning newscasts were awash with anti-Trump journalists whining about President Trump using it a victory for his Middle East policies.

The quip among Jewish Republicans about President Obama’s trafficking with anti-Semites was that he was so popular with American Jews that had he nuked Tel Aviv, he would have lost no more than 30% of the Jewish vote. The affinity for American Jews for the Democrat Party has long been a political curiosity. The distinguished essayist Milton Himmelfarb observed that in America, Jews had attained the socioeconomic status of Episcopalians, but for some reason they continued to vote like Puerto Ricans. Nothing seems to dissolve the sinew that ties Jews to the Democrats. President Obama’s association with the anti-Semitic Rev. Jeremiah Wright brought a collective yawn.
