Sen. Elizabeth Warren said Sunday that in the upcoming weeks she would detail how to pay for her proposal for a government-run "Medicare-for-all" plan. The Massachusetts Democrat and White House candidate said at a town hall in Indianola, Iowa: "What I see … is that we need to talk about the cost, and I plan over the next few weeks to put out a plan that talks about specifically the cost of 'Medicare-for-all,' and specifically how we pay for it." Estimates place the 10-year cost of the "Medicare-for-all" plans at $32-34 trillion.

Obama took $500 Billion out of medicare to pay for other peoples's insurance premiums. Now Warren wants to further dilute medicare by making it medicare for all, even though all have not paid any premiums over the last 50 years. Those that have paid those premiums are being robbed, as our needy are being robbed of the help they need as the funding is being used for illegals. Warren is a screeching fool. Monopoly is no more desirable in government than in the private sector. Both lead to tyranny and abuse of power.

Another version of Pelosi's have to pass it to see what is in it garbage. She knows that she plans to raise taxes on the middle class, the wealthy and all who are producers in this nation. The Socialists really hate successful Americans they cannot control. Hence the punishing taxes are their way of imposing social control on the nation.

She will not acknowledge the fact that the trustees report on Medicare says it will be bankrupt in 16 years or less at it present rate of collapse. Her plan will guarantee it goes bankrupt even faster and raising taxes won’t make it work. This is out right voter candy and she knows it and that’s why she is promoting the myth.

The “Supermarket Sweep” 4 replies

When I was a kid, a television show called Supermarket Sweep featured teams of middle Americans bolting through grocery store aisles and filling their carts with food, household products, and pet supplies. The show’s premise was that, for two minutes, the rule of law—in this case, the law against shoplifting—would be suspended. The team with the largest haul could take home their bounty of groceries, win prizes, and compete for the championship. Today, in some West Coast cities, the Supermarket Sweep isn’t a game show—it’s a dark reality, fueled by addiction, crime, and bad public policy. From Seattle to Los Angeles, a “shoplifting boom”

As Chicago teachers marched into Week Two of their strike Monday, Chicago Teachers Union leaders pursued their strategy of moving the goal posts. One indicator: Contract demands that started with pay now include rent control, a policy the state legislature has been debating. Come on, CTU. Quit playing games. Rent control policy has no place in a teacher contract negotiation. Nor does affordability of housing. Nor does presidential politics. But in the spaghetti-throwing exercise CTU has employed for months, issues that fall outside the parameters of a labor agreement keep getting tossed at the wall. What will stick? Last week, the Supreme Court agreed to hear what could end up being the most consequential case of the term — in a year where the justices are already taking up employment discrimination, the Second Amendment, abortion, DACA, school choice, and other issues of higher political salience. In Seila Law LLC v. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Court will decide the constitutionality of an agency long criticized not just by the business community and free-market-oriented politicians but also by constitutional scholars who see major problems with its structure as a single-director agency seemingly unaccountable to the president or anyone else. The lawsuit was brought

The rejection by Britain’s parliament of Prime Minister Johnson’s deal in respect of Brexit makes us wonder whether the denouement to this drama could end up like the last scene of “The Spy Who Came in From the Cold.” That involved the desperate flight to escape East Germany by Richard Burton and his disillusioned girlfriend. Inches from freedom, they are gunned down at the Berlin Wall. It’s not our intention here to draw a moral equivalency between the European Union and the Soviet Bloc. (Or to predict gunfire.) Only to remark on how harrowing the desperate effort of the doughty Brits to escape Europe has become.

IN AN ideal world, our leaders would acknowledge the danger of climate change and seek the best way to combat it. If they did, they would easily find an answer that is effective and progressive: The latest bulletin from the International Monetary Fund maps what it would take to restrain warming to tolerable levels without wasting massive amounts of money or unnecessarily harming workers, companies and households. In our far-from-ideal world, President Trump can’t even acknowledge the problem, and the Democrats who call for immediate action seem to be running from the best solutions. A new bill would require Supreme Court justices to disclose more information about privately funded travel, a lavish and much-enjoyed perk of service on the nation’s highest judicial tribunal. Federal judges have relatively cursory reporting requirements for reimbursed travel as compared to the other branches of government. The justices are only obligated to provide the source and a brief description of reimbursements, but need not report dollar amounts or any gift received as “personal hospitality.” The proposed Judicial Travel Accountability Act requires judicial officers to itemize privately funded travel,
