CNN's Van Jones: 'Democrats Are In a
Lose-Lose Situation' With Impeachment

Original Article

CNN political commentator Van Jones warned Democrats are putting themselves into a position where there might not be a victory for them as they go full-steam ahead with President Trump's impeachment. Jones, who was a special adviser to former President Barack Obama, said the impeachment inquiry will push Republicans into rallying behind Trump."It’s a tricky thing. The impeachment process, because for some Republicans it makes them want to rally around the flag. Now I remember when I was anti-Bill Clinton from the Left in the ‘90s and then they tried to impeach him, and suddenly Clinton was my best friend and I was, like, 'Leave Bill Clinton alone,'"

If you're a Democrat/Socialist, and you've lost Van Jones, you're not in a good place at all. Van is a commie, true, but he is far more realistic, more pragmatic that the AOC's of today.

The Democrats shouldn't assume there is popular support for impeachment. I remember when the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal broke. I was looking forward to the day Clinton left office at the end of his term, but I did not favor impeachment. It seemed too drastic a remedy for what Clinton did and threatened to destabilize the economy for what? Algore? And look where it went for the Republicans. They lost seats in the 1998 election and lost their majority. Newt was out. I'm not sure they ever really recovered.

When a kool-ade soaked idiot like Van Jones gets it, that’s saying something that the rest of the left should listen to.

Sounds like someone is afraid of what will come out at the Senate hearings about the Obama administration if impeachment goes forward. I think the Ds who understand that tons of Obama corruption will be laid out for the public to see are scared to death. And that data will be available from the ongoing investigations of Barr/Durham. That's why they want to limit this impeachment farce to the Ukraine phone call.

Here in Mississippi we have a Governor's race this fall, Tate Reeves the Republican versus Jim Hood the Democrat. I wrote an email to Mr. Hood, saying that I thought he was a decent guy, but he's in with the wrong crowd. I told him that after the evil activities of the 'Rats in Washington, I will NEVER EVER EVER vote for a Democrat again. ..... and that includes Jim Hood.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., suggested this week that a school principal effectively fired her from a teaching job after she became "visibly pregnant," but a resurfaced video indicates that wasn't the actual reason she left the job. "I was married at nineteen and then graduated from college [at the University of Houston] after I’d married," Warren, then a Harvard Law School professor, said in an interview posted to YouTube in 2008. "My first year post-graduation, I worked -- it was in a public school system but I worked with the children with disabilities. I did that for a year, and then that summer I actually didn’t have

President Donald Trump has ordered a substantial reduction in the staff of the National Security Council, according to five people familiar with the plans, as the White House confronts an impeachment inquiry touched off by a whistle-blower complaint related to the agency’s work. Some of the people described the staff cuts as part of a White House effort to make its foreign policy arm leaner under new National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien. The request to limit the size of the NSC staff was conveyed to senior agency officials by acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and O’Brien this week.

Once upon a time — in a galaxy far, far away — The New York Times and The Washington Post were the go-to papers when it came to uncovering political scandals. Both papers made a point of running the Pentagon Papers, an internal and secret U.S. government history of various presidents and their relevant Cabinet secretaries decision-making on American involvement in the Vietnam War. The Post, of course, was also famous for its birddogging young reporters Woodward and Bernstein and their digging out the details of the Watergate scandal. In fact, movies have been made with Hollywood A-listers lionizing both The Post and the journalists involved.

President Trump on Friday signed a presidential proclamation that will prevent U.S. taxpayers from being forced to subsidize health care costs of legal immigrants, who will need to have their own insurance. In the new rule, which goes into effect Nov. 3, most foreigners who apply for visas will have to have their own employer-based health insurance or a non-subsidized private health insurance plan before they arrive. The rule does not apply to refugees or those seeking political asylum or nonimmigrant visas. The proclamation reads in part:

One way the Democrats could fulfill their dream of crippling President Trump (as opposed to simply running him out of office) would be to stampede the Republicans, to send them running wild-eyed for shelter from shouted accusations and piercing rays of adverse publicity. There is no shortage of weak-spined GOP officeholders, and it has happened many times before. The Dems had no reason to doubt that it would happen again. But it’s not happening. It’s becoming clearer that Nancy Pelosi’s half-clever ploy of unilaterally declaring that an impeachment “inquiry” was in progress is backfiring in a big way. At first, it seemed that this was a smart move – by simply stating an inquiry was in motion without going through the necessary formalities such as a full House vote, Pelosi was calming the crazies of her caucus (such as the Squad), while leaving herself plenty of maneuvering room to divert or back out should things start to deteriorate.

It's always useful to know what a campaign is like, the lay of the land, so to speak, the supporters, the campaign operation, the candidate herself. Here in San Diego, Elizabeth Warren paid a visit Thursday, so I went, taking my elderly mother, blending into the crowd to learn how things looked from the Democrat side. The most obvious takeaway is that Warren is rising. Based on her own energetic appearance and stump speech, she's now begun campaigning as if she's got the Democratic nomination in the bag, and she's now attempting to move to the center. That signals a swift campaign response to the de facto collapses of her
