When Jennifer Lopez’s infamous interview with Movieline resurfaced on Thursday, I thought: How fun.
And how different from most of Hollywood now, which is such a joyless place, pushing out joyless products full of dire warnings, safe spaces and moral rectitude.
Last Sunday’s Emmys were possibly the most boring ever, with ratings at an all-time low. Brad Pitt, one of our last true movie stars, is currently in a somnambulant space epic. His last film, an ostensible ode to Hollywood, revolved around the Manson family.

I don't think the article explained at all "Why Hollywood has become a joyless, depressing echo chamber". It's become more than that, and none of it's good. I think the reason is because it is largely a Godless liberal society determined to push their agenda on the rest of us. It doesn't matter if we like the movies or are insulted and attacked by the movies.

Hollywood used to respect God, America, and ordinary people. Many of its stars served in WWII. It was patriotic. Now, this current generation is nothing of the kind. It’s drug-obsessed, sex-obsessed, violence-obsessed, extremely anti-Christian, and full of socialist self-righteousness. I’m not paying my hard-earned dollars to watch my values being insulted by obnoxious actors who think their true purpose is to set us straight, according to their idiotic dogma, not to entertain.

I know it’s hard to believe, but there was once a time when Hollywood actually made movies that people paid good money to go see. Sort of like when the dying NFL used to fill stadiums.

If we are to get rid of gins there should be NO movies involving violence or video games with violence. That ought to put them all out of business.

Hollywood is a small group of self-serving elitists who think their political dogma prevails because they achieved wealth from appearing in nothing-burger movies. In reality, most in the business are chronically unemployed and can't even get a gig as a key grip. Indeed, when a society becomes Godless, the end result is predictable.

You basically have a group of uneducated, joyless secularists living in an echo chamber. Compare these talentless sheep to the stars of the 40's and remember how many served bravely in the military.

When there are no longer any heroes allowed, no actual good and evil, other than some cartoon characters, there are no good stories.

After the likes of Jimmy Stewart, Humphrey Bogart, John Wayne, Lauren Bacall and quiet a few others died or retired from acting Hollywood should have been 'shuttered' and closed completely down. Sorry but the horrible movies now cartoons are all mindless attempts at some 'signaling' and not entertainment. The last time I sat in a movie theater for a discount senior citizen mateine was to see Churchill because I didn't want to wait for the rental. It was a very good movie. Hollywood like the NFL is dead to me.

I'd like to know why Hollywood had no problem having one of their major studios (20th Century Fox) run by a guy (James Murdoch) that was chased out of Europe for promoting celebrity hacking & spying and then lying about it when he ran News Corp Euro ...? And now we get to read the confirmed 'oppo' opinion about Hollywood degeneracy in another News Corp paper to keep the ruse going...
Hollywood really is the 'autocrat's paradise'

This was a dodge with no comment section. Hollywood is made for virtue signalling, devotion to communist causes, and defies gender roles. Women are made into men. Men are made into soy. Who the heck wants to watch that dystopian crap?

No acting talent, No real writers, horrid stories. I will still vote for Clint Eastwood for making superb movies.

DH and I went to see the Downton Abbey movie yesterday - very well done, uplifting and not from Hollywood. During the previews there was a trailer for yet another remake of an old film - and I was so uninterested that I can’t remember now what it was. But during the trailer, DH asked me why Hollywood can’t seem to come up with anything new.
