The classic Western film High Noon, released in 1952, offers a compelling analogy to the Trump presidency. Set in New Mexico territory sometime in the late 1800s, it starred Gary Cooper as Marshal Will Kane and Grace Kelly as Amy. Her character is a Quaker. She had seen her brothers and father die by gunfire, so she is a pacifist. The two of them marry in the first moments of the film but then learn that a man the Marshal had sentenced to hang, but was released by an early version of an Obama-appointed judge, is coming to their town with three henchmen to kill Kane.

Great article. Straight, honest description of what President Trump is fighting for and who he is fighting against.

MUST read. Could not be more fitting to what we are experiencing. Our biggest present problem has been with us for decades—cowards on the right side of the aisle in Congress.

What the “IC” and the Dems have done to Trump is outrageous and disgraceful! I would say “and the left wing media” but no need to repeat myself.

Adam Shipphead. Please read this and then read it again. Put it up against your pathetic lying parody then go flush yours down the toilet. You lose as usual.

Here's the difference...the townspeople were cowards, but none was going to shoot Kane in the back to benefit the bad guys.
Let's also not forget who elected these contemptible cowards and crooks...

Ms. McCarthy I hear you loud and clear and I love what you are saying. Now my problem: Just how do I fight for
my President? I would battle any way possible, but see no possible way. Please I am truly looking for answers.
I have a computer, can write letters or emails, a good brain to use, but I am stumped as to how to really help my
wonderful President in his hour of need. If you have an answer, or if anyone else has one, tell me and if I can I
will do it. War seems to take a large group and I am but one.......how do we make good happen? I do pray for
my President and know G-d will help, but He also helps those who help themselves. I shall come back here
later to see if anyone has an answer to help me. Thanks in advance.

It seemed one off to me. The cowards are the townspeople. We are looking outside ourselves for the answer. Like the article said - we are electing the wrong people. We should be Amy defending President Trump. Call your representatives and let them know that you want President Trump in office and that if he goes they go too.

In response to #10 - I've been wondering lately if it isn't time for another 9-12-09 million-strong patriot march on D.C. We haven't got time for a planned event. Could we actually start a spontaneous "caravan" of righteous citizens jumping in their SUV's and trucks, flying TRUMP and Gadsden flags, heading for our nation's capitol? Our "representatives" in Congress are not representing us when they cower from supporting our President. Perhaps its time for We The People to take over Our Capitol City.

5 million of us marching on Washington and surrounding the capitol building should do it. Since congress is on a two-week recess, go to the homes of dim leadership and protest loudly 24/7. Make sleep impossible. Make them very uncomfortable. Time is very short. Let's roll.

POOR? Don't describe her as poor, either poverty stricken or deserving of pity. She is corrupt and evil.

#14, who says it has to be in DC? Many of us don't have the money or time or whatever. I do know this - we could have it across the country - every state.

I've seen that movie many, many times. The Townspeople are not ALL "cowards" ... many are truly worried about the Marshal (Cooper) and the fact he will be killed so they urge him to save his life by running away while he can. They are willing to put up with the returning evil --- which they already lived with for many years --- and see it as a trade-off to save his life. Not exactly "cowards". They also know that the returning criminal has had many friends in the Town for years who will help him extract painful revenge if they help Cooper ... and fail. Some even tell the Marshall they'll hold tight while he goes and gets more help!
In Trump's case, we have his back and will strike back if he asks us to. Right now we're just holding his coat as he still seems to be doing ok in this metaphorical fistfight. The one with the black eye and bloody nose isn't Trump. In terms of "what-can-we-do"? Simple, if you live in a House district with a Democrat representative --- especially if it's a Congressional district that supported Trump in 2016 --- call that guy/gal and tell them they are dead meat in 2018.
After that --- never support a Democrat on any level of government ever again.

The Dems have become fearless in their pursuit to win and they do it with impunity. They won (stole) seats in 2018 because they had a plan to manufacture the necessary votes they needed. They're a party of organized crime worse than the mafia.
We stop them by being bolder, more ruthless and louder. Making outrageous statements gets headlines as we have discovered from the other cable shows. Let's make a few of our own. Put them on defense 24-7. President Trump needs support from the troops.

Love this comparison! President Trump sure is on his own, other than for a handful willing to fight with him. Let’s hope he doesn’t throw his badge into the dirt and ride off after he has fought off the impeachment effort. Folks today, like in High Noon, know what is evil but are too scared to risk themselves to fight it. A timeless lesson.

Brilliant analogy. The fact that President Trump has broken fundraising records for the quarter proves to all involved that his constituents are solidly behind him and we are helping him fight in the best way we can. If it comes down to impeachment we will find a way to march on Washington if we have to ride bicycles and sleep there in tents. Yes, it's that important. They will have to get through us to remove him from the White House and that WILL NOT happen.

Our Champion cannot do it all alone. Republicans must come our from under their beds. In the Senate only Marcia Blackburn defended Trump in public. It is crucial for elected officials to defend him. Romney, Lee, Sasse, McConnell all quickly came out as cowards. Look at what is happening to the stock market right now because these Republicans are scared of Obamunists.

Message to those cowardly Republicans: If Trump goes, so do you. Do you really think I would go to the polls to vote for a cowardly backstabbing Republican?

#12, Your idea would work if it was done as a spontaneous gathering. Use the internet to tell people to be in Washington on a certain date. As they head toward their destination they spread the word in towns they pass through and encourage people with flags, etc. As the word spreads more and more people will begin the journey filled with excitement brought on as a result of their participation. It could end being gigantic. Organic growth will reward itself. Even the media may not be able to suppress it.

#10, here is what I did:
1) I wrote a letter to President Trump (at the webpage Whitehouse.gov) telling him to keep his chin up, there's a TON of us that support him 100%.
2) I wrote a letter to my own two next-to-worthless Senators, telling them to quit sitting on their hands in their nice safe offices, and letting President Trump carry the whole load, and take all the hate and venom from the Left, all by himself.
I told told them I did NOT vote for them to just sit on their hands and keep their seat warm, I told them to get out there and FIGHT to SUPPORT President Trump!
I hope this gives you some ideas.
