The new post-Mueller media narrative is “weariness” and “exhaustion” with President Trump’s tweets, his cul de sac Sharpie controversy, his ideas about buying Greenland, his unorthodox art-of-the-deal foreign policy that resulted in a plan to talk to Taliban leaders in the United States, and his firing of arch-conservative John Bolton.
The Drudge Report, once a go-to site for Trumpism, now seems unapologetically anti-Trump, in its often trademark snarky style.
Are Trump supporters then weary?
The August jobs report “unexpectedly” reminds us that never have so many Americans been at work. The 3.7 percent unemployment rate continues to be the lowest peacetime unemployment figure in 50 years. Black and Hispanic

As I’ve been saying for 3 years, PDT’s tweets are priceless in helping him continue his agenda. He tweets and the media focuses for days on end about each tweet. Meanwhile, PDT is quietly and efficiently keeping his campaign promises. Not to mention that his tweets are entertaining and they allow him to speak directly to all of us without media spin.
Weary? I’ve never been more energized since I started paying attention to politics!

I am a Trump supporter and I am not weary. I will get to the polls in 2020, even if I have to walk over Antifa to get there, and vote for Trump.

I grew up around Trump in NYC and grew weary of his showboating 40 years ago! I am 100% behind his and what he has accomplished in such a short time against incredible opposition by 'big money Elites' whose goals do not align the well-being of our Republic or the average citizen.
He is the right person for the job because his motivations are different (in this instance) than the ruling class. We can all thank the Hawaiian for that!

Never before has a president spoken so directly to we, the American people! His tweets cut through the chafe and his ‘new style press conferences’ are fresh and inspiring. When he talks to the press, outside the White House, the stupidity of the reporters is so evident, yet PDT answers most of them in a calm and kind way. In spite of the roaring background of the helicopter, his message comes across loud and clear, “ I’m in charge here and I am listening to your questions.” Some of the questions are so juvenile, that they just take up valuable time and do not justify their being there. I, like Hanson, marvel at the president’s stamina to work under such pressure. I’ve seen a few presidencies, and I consider his to be the most successful of all! His love of our country is evident. He is standing up for our freedoms, and showing all of us how to fight the good fight! I pray for his safety! MAGA!

He's right about Drudge. I removed his site from my favorites about 14 months ago. Drudge seems to be doing a Scarborough. Lucianne's site is so much better for aggregating useful articles and information. All I would ask is that they update the Links page and repair/renew click-through links. This is a much better site than Drudge.

If anything I hear more open support for Trump of late. I think we are getting sick and tired of being kept in our place for fear of ridicule. Perhaps it's more calloused and immune.

I buy his books and copy and save every VDH piece (this is another good one). But I've also discovered an equally compelling talent in author Jordan Peterson. Well-worth a look and listen on YouTube. This is a particularly interesting discussion in which he speaks highly of President Trump.

I removed Drudge from my home page link section about 15 months ago. He does not like President Trump and he is obsessed with robot sex articles.
It is a strange mix of items on Drudge these days. Mostly I resent the headlines he writes against the President and leaves up for days. No clicks for you Matt.

This is a great article. There's a good Machievelli quote that went something like "Men often deceive themselves in believing they can turn the other cheek to overcome insults". President Trump definitely fights back instead of sit there and take it. Tweeting is a perfect way to get around the biased, filtered media to get the real story out there.

I find Trump refreshingly honest and will gladly vote for him in 2020. I also don't answer from pollsters. The last time I did (just before the 2016 election), I lied through my teeth to CNN. Most conservatives I know are the same way.

I'm weary of conservative writers that must begin their praise of Trump with the admission that they are weary of his tweets and combative style. I really don't understand this requirement. Is it to mollify the tepid Trumpers by letting them know others with the same sensibilities can still support the presidents policy achievements? Its OK as long as you qualify your support with disdain for his "showboating"?
I've never been more energized, more enthusiastic or more optimistic about the future of our nation. President Trump makes politics fun and exciting. His tweets and combative style is just what we need. You cannot beat gutter fighting communists with garden party manners. Trump's tweets are his Excalibur, the sword he swings in righteous indignation at the barbarians intent upon the fall of Western Civilization and the ability of people to rule themselves. Rather than aging like most presidents, he is getting younger with every day in office. He is a once-in-a-century president.
President Trump's "stuck" approval numbers remind me of election night when the poll results from the "Blue Wall" states did not change for hours. It seems strange to me that in our supposedly volatile political climate Trump's poll numbers never fluctuate, but stay steady at just under 50%. I know I'm solidly in the "Amen Corner", but we were all right in 2016.

An excellent article. VDH seems to "get" some of the points I thought he had missed in the past, especially concerning Trump's fighting back with his tweets.
TRUMP sets the tone. He has stolen the story from the Left/dems/media and they hate him and fear him for it. He has also shown up their stupidity and incompetence and they hate and fear him for that as well because one of the hallmarks of these people is that they think of themselves as superior, smarter, better, more virtuous than anyone else. Trump has forced them into self mockery and self exposure. They are trite and silly.
So here is the question.
Will you support an occasionally annoying and hyperbolic Trump who DOES seem to be a "stable genius" in running the Country for We the People, ALL the People in the way it was Constitutionally envisioned?
Or
Will you support the insanely Anti American, Anti Constitutional dems who babble, swear, and scream about illegal, impossible, unethical, and immoral solutions that have been tried and failed over and over and over in support of non Americans, criminals, and other odd groups of people?

Victor Davis Hanson is a genius, and in this must read column, carefully recounts the (staggering number of) sources of opposition that President Trump has had (and/or must continue) to deal with since arriving on the political stage. Trumped out? Not on your life. I am amazed and thankful for President Donald Trump. I don't participate in the tweetoshpere, but I watch our fine President's remarkable accomplishments, made even more remarkable when you consider the opposition, so well laid out by Mr. Hanson.

VDH is a,ways worth reading. Brilliant mind.
No excuses for our President’s tweets. They are genius and almost the only source of truth. Turnout is beyond important for his base in 2020.

It's not the President's tweets we are weary of; it is the endless hyperventilating Left comments on them.
BTW, lets start calling it what it is.
"fake news" = "propaganda":
"Information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc. The deliberate spreading of such information, rumors, etc" (Dictionary.com)

Reading this article by Dr. Hanson, I came up with about thirty or so opponents, organizations and mentalities that have been using any tactics they can get away with to destroy President Trump. To paraphrase the good Doctor, it's a miracle Trump is still standing! President Trump is lucky to have Dr. Hanson in his corner because he is a real scholar who loves The Truth.
The rationales people use to damn our President are off the charts. I read a recent commentary by Nicholas Kristof entitled, "Epstein Is the Tip of a Very Large Iceberg". Addressing the subject of sex trafficking, Kriistof quotes Trump, saying he will leverage "every resource" to address this "urgent humanitarian issue". But then, Kristof questions Trump's sincerity, and goes on to say:
"But while the attention is welcome, it seems to be largely hot air - and Trump's lurid descriptions of trafficking seem mostly to be a misleading rationale for his border wall."
Give me a break! I am devastated when I read the way women and children are treated on their way to the southern border - open drug trafficking, young women forced to take birth control pills to prevent pregnancy after being raped along the way, sicknesses and diseases being spread among the poor migrants who are taken advantage of by drug and sex traffickers. And if those mentioned in Hanson's article are not formidable enough, Trump even has The Pope and his brother Jesuits working against his directive to secure the border. Since our churches are taking millions of dollars in government money to resettle migrants, they should weigh the monies received against the havoc caused by opening up our borders to drug and sex traffickers. Much too high a price! Our President needs our prayers as does his enemies.

p.s. I noticed in some comments, people were saying they did not like to read Drudge anymore.
Awhile back, I heard about - The Liberty Daily - and so that is what I read now instead of Drudge. It is what Drudge used to be.

Any news available is at that source. What happened to Drudge? Would love to know that story.
