Oh My, So That's Why Christine

When Christine Blasey Ford testified against Brett Kavauagh last year during his confirmation hearing to sit on the Supreme Court, she had the backing of the leftist media, the #MeToo movement, the pro-abortion movement, Hollywood, Democrats in Congress and her activist attorneys. But noticeably missing from Ford's corner was her family. Now, thanks to Mollie Hemingway and Carrie Severino, we know why. Writing for The Federalist, Hemingway and Severino report Ford's father actually backed Kavanaugh's nomination. "Within days of Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, a fascinating encounter took place.

So protecting abortion ,not the truth, was at the heart of Blasey- Ford’s testimony? Liberals: winning at any cost. Destroy somebody’s life, what’s the problem?

People like Christine Blasey Ford are evil. To get their twisted way, they would ruin a man who by all other accounts is a VERY good person. The sad thing is, evil continues to come in many forms and wears many faces. To defeat it the only choice is to be vigilant, call it out, and to fight vigorous battles each time it pops up.

I imagine Blasey-Ford and her attorney best pal, sat on the beach in Delaware, carefully concocting the vague, deliberately detail-less (so it couldn't be dis-proven), emotionally driven "story" about an encounter with Kavanaugh. Every fact that Blasey-Ford stated about the long term consequences of her (no doubt non-existent) encounter with Kavanaugh, has been contradicted by the people who knew her best. (She has no fear of closed in spaces, no fear of flying, the second front door in her home was installed for patients by a former owner, etc. etc.) And yet, the Leftists made her their hero. In fact the Left always picks deeply flawed people as heroes. And the (Leftist) media always let them get away with it. No one looking at facts could believe Blasey-Ford. No one hearing her speak elsewhere could believe the little girl voice she used at the hearing. imo, Blasey Ford was a fraud and I've lost respect for anyone who could believe her.

I knew several Mensa members who were horrified that Kavanaugh would be chosen and abolish abortion. You don't have to be stupid to be wrong-headed, selfish or evil. As for Balsey-Ford's father, having a whining snowflake for a daughter is embarrassment enough. Why would he want to even be seen with her in public? Like most fathers, he probably sacrificed a lot to "educate" her. She will see justice when Hillary and Barack see justice, when they try to enter the pearly gates and are rudely sent in the other direction. Our government has failed us.

And I agree with others, Ballsy Ford must be indicted for and convicted of perjury. The destruction of lives, careers and families must be stopped and the only way to do that is to prosecute these perjurious traitors. KAG

BARTLETT, Ill. — Danielle Rizzo’s son is screaming. He is planted in the middle of the lobby of his elementary school, clinging to rainbow-colored blocks as she gently explains that she is here — off schedule, in the middle of the day — to take him to a doctor’s appointment. But the first-grader is not listening. “Happy Meal,” he repeats over and over again. “Happy Meal!” His little brother, who is also going to the appointment, is nearby, not moving. Rizzo is relieved that the two of them are not melting down at the same time, which happens all too often, and firmly guides them out the door.

The city of Chicago is in dire fiscal and financial straits with an almost billion dollar budget deficit, bonds rated at junk status or below, numerous extremely costly legal judgments, a shrinking tax base, and unfunded public pension liabilities to the tune of an astonishing $42 billion. Other than that, it's a great place to live. The state of Illinois has its own financial troubles, so the city can expect little or no help there. And good luck getting a federal bailout through the GOP Senate and signed by a president who's been called a "racist" by the mayor.

Bernie Sanders is a real blast from the past. Not only does the aging pol peddle failed socialist ideas that are better at producing tyranny than prosperity, now he’s recycling the long discredited idea that we are breeding ourselves off the face of the planet. Even that other New York City newspaper long ago abandoned the cherished leftist belief in “overpopulation,” calling it one of the myths of the 20th Century. Bernie must have skipped the paper that day.

And the winner is … Donald Trump. The Democrats’ third presidential debate was a long-winded, platitude-filled disaster where no single candidate could claim a clear victory. Instead, the seven men and three women took turns displaying why they are all probably unelectable. Start with Joe Biden’s incoherence. The nominal front-runner, the former vice president had a 40-year reputation for never shutting up. Now he can’t manage to finish a sentence without interrupting himself. Nearly all his efforts to make a point were swamped by a sudden change of direction mid-sentence, and then another change a few words later as a random thought popped into his head and out his mouth.

He almost certainly doesn’t realize it, but Beto O’Rourke is likely to be the worst thing to happen to the gun-control movement in decades — and, if he continues in this mode, he may turn out to be the worst thing to happen to the Democratic party in a long time, too. In Houston last night, O’Rourke abandoned his cloying euphemisms (“mandatory buybacks”) and delivered a deliberate, carefully scripted endorsement of gun confiscation, which, within minutes, his campaign began to sell on t-shirts. “Hell yes,” Beto said, “we’re going to take your AR-15.” Thus, upon the instant, did two decades’ worth of Democratic rhetoric go up in a puff of smoke.

The family stands to lose billions after a litany of lawsuits claiming that their company marketed the painkiller OxyContin as nonaddictive despite knowing otherwise. The transfers support allegations by New York and other states that the Sacklers have worked to shield their wealth in the face of mounting legal threats.

On a spring afternoon in 2000, Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani used a news conference in Bryant Park to drop a personal bombshell: He was separating from his wife. That was news not just to New York City but also to Donna Hanover, the woman he was married to at the time. There was more. Mr. Giuliani, then a United States Senate candidate, casually mentioned that Judith Nathan, a woman whom he had just described as a “very good friend,” was someone whom he would now turn to, “more now than maybe I did before.”

Good morning, and welcome to the Essential California newsletter. It’s Friday, Sept. 13, and I’m writing from Los Angeles. John Steinbeck entered the literary stratosphere by way of his native Central California, through stories that lionized the downtrodden and often unseen. “The Grapes of Wrath,” his account of the fictional Joad family fleeing the Dust Bowl for the promise of the golden west, won him the Pulitzer and the National Book Award, as well as accusations that he was spreading Communist propaganda. He was a man described by many as a “bard of the people” for his dignified and sometimes romanticized portraits of the working poor.

Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke on Thursday called on big banks and other financial institutions to cut off business with gun companies in an effort to bankrupt them. "Credit cards have enabled many of America's mass shootings in the last decade—and with Washington unwilling to act, they need to cut off the sales of weapons of war today," O'Rourke tweeted. "Banks and credit card companies must: 1. Refuse to take part in the sale of assault weapons. 2. Stop processing transactions for gun sales online & at gun shows without background checks. 3. Stop doing business with gun & ammo manufacturers who produce or sell assault weapons."

Some criticisms of the political media, like that it fabricates allegations and makes up sources in order to embarrass our great president, are bogus. Others, such as that it oversells new “characters” and conflict-oriented storylines at the expense of conveying the full, contextualized totality of some situations, can be fair. And that critique is particularly fair right now in regard to the coverage of Bernard “Bernie” Sanders, the Brooklyn-Vermont “democratic socialist” who takes the debate stage Thursday night as one of the three leading candidates to become the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee. Given that debate performances are scrutinized for how they shape the primary “narrative,” Sanders is at a disadvantage.
