Why Southern white women

The morning after the 2016 election was not the first time feminists awoke devastated and bewildered by election results. Three days after Ronald Reagan’s 1980 presidential victory, this headline ran in the New York Times: “Feminists Dismayed by the Election and Unsure of What the Future Holds.” In the story, George McGovern, the former Democratic presidential nominee who had just lost his Senate seat, blamed anti-feminist sentiment for the titanic Republican wave: “People were reluctant to come right out and admit they wanted to put women in their place, but there was a strong current of that running through much of what happened.”

I'm just not going to take any societal advice from the Washington Post. Especially their "wisdom" about southern states. Anyway, "feminism" is a leftist lie to start with, and "southern women" know more about what being female means than any liberal nitwit inside the beltway. Buzz off.

I was young working Mother (ER nurse) in the early seventies married to a man who worked full time and attended law school in the evenings. I distinctly remember turning to my husband and declaring “Feminism is a myth”! I was exhausted and some lesbians without husbands and children were telling me “I could have it all” and scolding me if I couldn’t manage IT ALL. To qualify as a GOOD feminist I needed to turn my children over to daycare, become a liberal and hate men. Well that wasn’t going to happen. When my husband’s job took us south I felt right at home.

Putting in their place: Men have roles such as earning the living, being sexually active with only the wife, and more duties. Women have a role too. It is described first a "helpmeet". This is not news.

The Supreme Court is allowing nationwide enforcement of a new Trump administration rule that prevents most Central American immigrants from seeking asylum in the United States. The justices’ order late Wednesday temporarily undoes a lower-court ruling that had blocked the new asylum policy in some states along the southern border. The policy is meant to deny asylum to anyone who passes through another country on the way to the U.S. without seeking protection there. Most people crossing the southern border are Central Americans fleeing violence and poverty. They are largely ineligible under the new rule, as are asylum seekers from Africa, Asia and South America who arrive regularly at the southern border.

In early August, a man with a semi-automatic weapon killed 22 people at an El Paso, Texas, Walmart, the year’s deadliest mass shooting so far. Beto O’Rourke, an El Paso native and presidential candidate, quickly returned to the area from the campaign trail. He attended vigils, met with survivors and family members, and gave raw interviews to the press. Pastor Frank Pomeroy didn’t like what he saw, and that was the day he decided to run for office. Pomeroy knows about mass shootings and their aftermaths. Pomeroy is the pastor at the Sutherland Springs First Baptist Church, and in November 2017, his 14-year-old daughter was one of 26 people killed

Former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein acknowledged he discussed with the FBI wearing a wire when talking to President Trump but insisted the comment was in jest amid tumultuous times at the Justice Department. His acknowledgment is contained in a series of emails exchanged in 2018 in response to a New York Times story. The September 2018 story was apparently sourced to fired Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, a fierce enemy of the president’s and now Democratic Party backer. The emails were obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by Judicial Watch, a conservative investigative non-profit. Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said the emails stand as more evidence

President Donald Trump on Wednesday blamed John Bolton for making "some very big mistakes" one day after firing him as national security adviser. The president answered reporters' questions about Bolton's departure in the Oval Office. He said he gets along "well" with Bolton despite the differences that led to his firing. "He made some very big mistakes when he talked about the Libyan model for [North Korean leader] Kim Jong Un," Trump said. "You just take a look at what happened with [Libyan leader Moammar] Gadhafi. That was not a good statement to make. And it set us back."

Was Yujing Zhang, 33, just a bumbling tourist or an agent of Beijing’s government? One thing is certain: Zhang, who has been in federal custody since her arrest March 30, now faces up to one year in prison on the trespassing charge and five years on the false-statement offense. She showed no reaction to the verdict.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s pledge to annex the heart of the West Bank if he wins re-election next week could inflame the Middle East and extinguish any remaining Palestinian hope of establishing a separate state. Arab leaders angrily condemned Netanyahu’s remarks Tuesday, and a U.N. spokesman warned the step would be “devastating” to the prospects for a two-state solution. Netanyahu said he would extend Israeli sovereignty over the Jordan Valley —

First, there is no mention of who carried out the 9/11 attacks or what motivated them. That's like writing a headline memorializing the Aug. 3 El Paso, Texas, mass shooting and not once mentioning that there was a white nationalist gunman involved. Second, and I hate to be the one to say this, airplanes lack agency. They did not take aim or crash themselves.

A federal appeals court on Tuesday temporarily rolled back the nationwide injunction preventing the Trump Administration’s asylum ban – requiring any migrants passing through Central America to seek asylum in one the nations they pass through before applying in the U.S. from taking effect. In response to a “Renewed Emergency Motion” submitted by the Justice Department, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals issued an administrative order granting the government’s request to stay the nationwide injunction put in place Monday night by U.S. District Court Judge Jon Tigar of California. Tigar reasoned that a nationwide injunction was necessary because of the need to “maintain uniform immigration policy.”

The September 11, 2001 attacks were the result of an unmitigated intelligence failure. No, 9/11 was not an “inside job,” as many conspiracy theorists believe. Osama bin Laden and his al-Qaeda network were responsible. But, the 9/11 plot did not happen in a vacuum. In reality, America’s elephantine national security state had known of bin Laden and his network years before the horrific events of 9/11. Some of the most powerful people in the national security state routinely downplayed and ignored the threat al-Qaeda posed to the United States before 19 hijackers murdered 2,911 people in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania.

Those sources did not say what exactly the administration would do and did not care to speculate whether California and municipal governments would be anxious to collaborate with a president who has consistently blamed them for the homelessness plight in the state.
