Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her husband Todd Palin have filed for divorce Friday in Anchorage Superior Court. Citing "incompatibility of temperament between the parties such that they find it impossible to live together as husband and wife," the court document uses initials instead of full names, but lists the date of the Palin marriage and the birth date of their child, Trig, for whom they filed joint custody. Anchorage attorney Kimberloo Colbo is representing Todd, 55, and has asked the court to keep the case confidential. Sarah Palin, also 55, rose to political prominence during the 2008 presidential election,

The evil press went after the Palin family with a vengeance, and succeeded in destroying it.

It is a shame that they are divorcing, but we don't know the details, and shouldn't know.
But I will always believe that if John McCain had handled Sarah Palin properly, and of course, campaigned properly, we would not have had a Kenyan klown as president.
And perhaps the worst thing about the Kenyan klown's presidency is that there may be another black candidate for the office, who will be ignored by the voters, at some point in the future, no matter how qualified..

After reading her book, I'm convinced that she would have been a much better presidential candidate than McCain. Neither McCain nor Obama should have been anywhere near the presidency. She is smart, accomplished, hard-working and a Christian.

You know the rule of thumb on such things:

The GOP establishment’s disgusting treatment of Gov. Palin gave rise to Donald Trump in many ways. They celebrate her children’s misfortunes and mocked and belittled her out of vicious jealousy over her unapologetic femininity and confidence. While she had some PR missteps after it was all said and done, I’m sad to hear that the media and the elitist snobs destroyed her family. Their hatred is unrelenting.

I remember when Sarah gave her terrific speech at the Republican Convention, and because she had memorized it perfectly, she had no problem when SOMETHING happened to the teleprompter! I think because she stood up to the "old boys club" in Alaska, there were those who wanted her to fail from day one. And she and her husband were obviously very much in love, unlike many other political marriages, so I feel very bad for them.

As I always say about a divorce, it’s too damn bad. Even if it’s the best thing for both of them, It’s still too damn bad.

Things change, people change, divorces happen. Theirs isn't the first and it won't be the last. Not everyone stays together as a marriage of convenience or just because they have been together a long time. Sometimes, being apart is better for both parties and the children.

If it’s not working then it’s time to stick a fork in it. I was married for 31 years and hit the same similar situation. I filed for divorce and to make it easy I gave her 100% of everything I could have had 50% of. She took it signed the papers in front of the judge and 8 years later I have not seen or spoken to her since. Best money I ever gave away. I’m so happy today I can not tell you how good it is. I pray they find their happiness as well.

I loved her when she ran for president with whatsisface McCain. Have not heard much since.
I did watch a few episodes of her truly horrible reality show. She would not let anyone get a word in edgewise. Assuming it wasn't scripted, that may be part of the problem. I do wish her well.

@#4 - If so, we would have gotten Obama in 2012 instead of 2008. He'd still be president. Oh the horror...

Too much celebrity and publicity will eventually take its toll. Not saying they sought it out; they just felt the effects of it.

Hopefully they get along as they have children together. When I first got divorced everybody was bitter. After a while we both decided we couldn’t keep it up an decided to be friends. I even bailed her out of jail a few years back.
