Is former Vice President Joe Biden's "electability" argument weakening? From the beginning of his 2020 campaign, Biden has banked his nomination chances not on arguing that he's the best candidate, either in terms of policy or enthusiasm, but that he is the only one "safe" enough to run against Donald Trump in the general election. Coasting on his association with the wildly popular Barack Obama, Biden's strategy has been to appeal to skittish Democratic voters who might not themselves have much personal zeal for the former veep, but who believe he won't scare off those fragile working-class white voters in the Midwest who have become such a focus of media attention

Joe is too dumb and old to be POTUS! What has Joe accomplished for the US? A big fat nothing. It's a travesty that he is even being contemplated for a few months to be POTUS. Joe has been wrong on everything during his career, just look at his history. He did not want to kill OBL. Even Ovomit ignored him. And the media just gives him a pass for being the bumbling old coot. The media and the democrat party are REVOLTING!

Why do we ask? Because it is his entitlement by rights to the throne. Just like Hillary. I know a few people around as well as two members of my family, brother, and mom, that are deliriously giddy and thrilled it is Biden. They swoon over him as if he is the second messiah to come to earth after Obozo. The giver of all that is good. The righter of all wrongs. The fixer of all that is broken. The Dream Weaver of 2020 and the only one that can whup Trump behind the bleachers. Goe With Joe!!!

The M.I.T. Media Lab, which has been embroiled in a scandal over accepting donations from the financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, had a deeper fund-raising relationship with Epstein than it has previously acknowledged, and it attempted to conceal the extent of its contacts with him. Dozens of pages of e-mails and other documents obtained by The New Yorker reveal that, although Epstein was listed as “disqualified” in M.I.T.’s official donor database, the Media Lab continued to accept gifts from him, consulted him about the use of the funds, and, by marking his contributions as anonymous, avoided disclosing their full extent, both publicly and within the university.

Donald Trump wants people to think he’s a winner. So why does he act like a loser? Winners convey a sense of effortless superiority. They don’t have to work at it. You just know they’re above it all. If someone tries to criticize them, it’s beneath their dignity to worry about it. It’s just a little speck they brush off their shoulder. The Brits are good at that, Boris Johnson especially. We still don’t know how things will turn out there, but I expect his aplomb will carry him through. “There are no disasters,” he once joked. “Only opportunities. And, indeed, opportunities for fresh disasters.”

I can’t believe we’re still doing this in September 2019, nearly a year after her defeat by Brian Kemp, following numerous critiques of her claim, and months after Abrams herself stopped insisting that she won. “I have no empirical evidence that I would have achieved a higher number of votes” if everyone whom she believes should have been allowed to vote had done so, she told the NYT in April. She was questioning the basic fairness of the election, she stressed, not necessarily the outcome. So why are Democratic presidential candidates still not only questioning the outcome but insisting forthrightly that she won?

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has came under fire from conservatives on social media Thursday after he said he would be open to discussing population control as a means to combat climate change. The presidential candidate made the comments on Wednesday at a climate town hall on CNN after he was asked by an attendee about rising populations and how the planet "can not sustain this growth." The questioner, identified by CNN as a teacher named Martha Readyoff, said that she realized linking population control to climate was a topic "poisonous for politicians, but it's crucial to face."

Actually, Kamala Harris didn’t even get close to the truth in this answer at CNN’s climate-change forum last night. And unlike Joe Biden’s bleeding eyeball, CNN actually noticed it in a fact check. Police in Massachusetts reportedly arrested 12 pro-immigration protesters Thursday after hundreds of demonstrators marched through the Boston area, blocking rush-hour traffic. The group, arrested for trespassing at the Amazon building in nearby Cambridge, across the Charles River via the Longfellow Bridge, were advocating for private businesses to stop cooperating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Cambridge police said, according to The Hill. The unscheduled route frustrated passengers and police. “It’s rush hour, there’s only one way (on the bridge). Take some other way around,” a man said to WBZ-TV in Boston. The protesters reportedly refused to tell police their planned route.

The owners of the California dive boat where 34 people died in a fire over the weekend have filed a lawsuit to avoid liability in the case, as investigators say the crew of the ship made several attempts to save victims who were trapped by the blaze. Truth Aquatics Inc. filed suit Thursday in Los Angeles federal court under a pre-Civil War provision of maritime law that allows it to limit its liability. The suit said the company and owners Glen and Dana Fritzler “used reasonable care to make the Conception seaworthy, and she was, at all relevant times, tight, staunch, and strong, fully and properly manned, equipped and supplied

I’m not a fan of tossing around the word “Nazi.” Unlike our friends on the left, I know history and prefer to, when possible, keep political discussions civil and on the topic at hand. But they don’t, on either of those points. Either they are intellectually incapable of discussion beyond a Neanderthal “fire bad” level, or they are simply of poor character and profoundly dishonest, and dare I say, evil people. Likely both. The journey matters less than the destination in this case, because the destination, whichever path is taken to get there, is profoundly dangerous and wholly un-American. This was on full display this past week, from coast to coast.

Most of the coverage of James Mattis’s new book, Call Sign Chaos, co-authored with Bing West, deals with the former defense secretary’s relationship with President Trump. The Atlantic‘s pre-publication interview with Mattis was headlined, “The Man Who Couldn’t Take It Anymore.” The New York Times editorial page ran a column about Mattis called “The Man Trump Wishes He Were.” Both articles establish that Mattis doesn’t have much to say right now, in either the book or in interviews, about President Trump. Neither piece, though, mentions another president about whom Mattis is more than willing to dish. That would be Barack Obama, who was Mattis’s commander in chief

In 2017, Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) accused President Trump of showing “a disdain for an independent judiciary that doesn’t always bend to his wishes” after Trump criticized a judge who ruled against his administration. Senate Democrats, by contrast, have launched an unprecedented attempt to actually bend the Supreme Court to their wishes — threatening to restructure the court if the justices do not rule as they see fit. The threat came over the Supreme Court’s decision to hear a challenge to New York City’s restrictions on how gun owners who have residential permits can transport their guns. In a legal brief, Sens.
